Sebum is an important component of the skin that has attracted attention in many fields, including dermatology and cosmetics. Pore expansion due to sebum on the skin can lead to various problems. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the morphologicalcharacteristics of sebum. In this study, we used optical coherence tomography (OCT) to evaluate facial sebum areas. Weobtained the OCT maximum amplitude projection (MAP) image and a cross-sectional image of skin pores in the facial area. Subsequently, we detected the sebum in skin pores using the detection algorithm of the ImageJ software to quantitativelydetermine the size of randomly selected pores in the proposed MAP images. Additionally, the pore size was analyzed byacquiring images before and after facial sebum extraction. According to our research, facial sebum can be morphologicallydescribed using the OCT system. Since OCT imaging enables specific analysis of skin parameters, including pores andsebum, skin analysis employing OCT could be an effective method for further research.
On the (n, m, k)-Cast Capacity of Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
Kim, Hyun-Chul,Sadjadpour, Hamid R.,Garcia-Luna-Aceves, Jose Joaquin The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2011 Journal of communications and networks Vol.13 No.5
The capacity of wireless ad-hoc networks is analyzed for all kinds of information dissemination based on single and multiple packet reception schemes under the physical model. To represent the general information dissemination scheme, we use (n, m, k)-cast model [1] where n, m, and k (k ${\leq}$ m) are the number of nodes, destinations and closest destinations that actually receive packets from the source in each (n, m, k)-cast group, respectively. We first consider point-to-point communication, which implies single packet reception between transmitter-receiver pairs and compute the (n, m, k)-cast communications. Next, the achievable throughput capacity is computed when receiver nodes are endowed with multipacket reception (MPR) capability. We adopt maximum likelihood decoding (MLD) and successive interference cancellation as optimal and suboptimal decoding schemes for MPR. We also demonstrate that physical and protocol models for MPR render the same capacity when we utilize MLD for decoding.
Development of the Index for Balanced Life by using Exploratory Data Anlysis
Byon, LuNa,Kim, JungRan 한국통계학회 2003 Communications for statistical applications and me Vol.10 No.3
The purpose of this paper is to develop the Index of Balanced Life from the Korean life style. This paper presents How Koreans live for 24 hours a day, generally. The Index of Life Style is composed of necessary life, duty life and leisure life. Specifically, this paper considers moving time of activity between indexes of balanced life. We suggest that there is a difference among the characteristics, i.e., a sex, week, state of student and region that are explained by analyzing the exploratory data. Thereafter we obtain the statistical inference from each characteristic table.

Ulleung Island is a biodiversity hot spot harboring approximately 700 species of vascular plantswith high number of endemic taxa. Physocarpus insularis, one of the 41endemic species, has an extremely restricted distribution range on the very small, geologically young oceanic island. Phylogenetic relationship of P. insularis, however, remained highly controversial whether it is conspecific with Spiraea chamaedryfolia or a distinct species in Physocarpus, making it difficult to establish necessary conservation programs. We examined comparative morphology of Physocarpus and Spiraea and reconstructed the phylogeny of the rbcL, matK,ndhF, and trnL-trnF regions from the exemplars of Rosaceae. The results strongly supported the placement of P. insularis within Spiraea. Further phylogenetic analyses of tribe Spiraeeae based on the trnL-trnF and internal transcribed spacer data showed that P. insularis is closely related to S. chamaedryfolia. Morphological analysis revealed that P. insularis differs from S. chamaedryfolia by having larger leaf blades that are subcordate or truncate at base. Results of this study suggest that P. insularis should be recognized as a distinct taxon in Spiraea and that conservation efforts on Ulleung Island should focus on protecting its natural environment to conserve evolutionary patterns and processes in addition to specific conservation programs for species in peril.

Corrosion can compromise the fatigue strength of steel structures. A sudden change in cross-sectional area due to corrosion damage can cause a sharp increase in stress concentration which can lead to fatigue cracks under cyclic loading. Therefore, predicting the location of high stress concentration is key to fatigue assessment. In this study, signal processing techniques (SPTs) were employed in evaluating stress concentration factor (SCF) of irregular surfaces. Fourier Transform, one of the techniques, decomposes a complex wave into sinusoidal waves, thus simplifying SCF computations. In comparison with using Finite Element Method, applying SPTs yielded generally below a 5% error in estimating the SCF fluctuations of corroded plates.

Presence Architecture for RFID-based Supply Chain
최선완,김은숙,강신각,J.J. Garcia-Luna-Aceves 안양대학교 산업기술연구소 2004 自然科學硏究 Vol.11 No.1
RFID-based supply chain is performed by using RFID tags and readers to pass RFID tag numbers, and then leveraging the Internet to access large amount of associated information that can be shared among authorized users [6]. The information is for physical objects such as foods, items, goods, equipments, or transportations. They move through supply chain such as manufactures, distributors, and retailers. The movement incurs the change of location (spatial and/or temporal) and ownership. The status of change should be notified to information recipients. This paper defines presence architecture for the RFID-based supply chain. This paper adopts the previous work of the IETF GEOPRIV WG, which applies mobile devices, such as GPS device and cell phone, to a present architecture for the distribution of location objects by examining the existing IETF works [2,3].
