Study on the Interaction of Compound Bonded Magnets

        Ying Chang,Nuo Ma,Xiaojun Yu,Fazeng Lian,Wei Li 한국자기학회 2004 Journal of Magnetics Vol.9 No.4

The attempt for the addition of double-phase nanocomposite Nd₂Fe₁₄B/Fe₃B powders, respectively, into several RE₂Fe₁₄B (RE=Pr, Nd) powders with high magnetic properties was carried out. The powders were compounded and compressed to take shape bonded magnets. By means of investigating the variation of compound magnet Br, the interaction between magnetic powders was revealed. The result shows that not chemical just but physical interaction exists between elements. The compound effect of Nd₂Fe₁₄B/Fe₃B-ferrite bonded magnets was detailed studied. The functional relation was revealed between magnetic properties and ferrite content. That is Y = 5.42 x²-11.34 x + 6.62. The variation of iHc temperature coefficient β_(iHc) with ferrite content was investigated. Following the ferrite content increased, β_(iHc) and hirr were obviously decreased, compression-resistant strength was enhanced.

Immunogenicity of recombinant Lactobacillus plantarum NC8 expressing goose parvovirus VP2 gene in BALB/c mice

        Yu-Ying Liu,Wentao Yang,Shaohua Shi,Ya-Jie Li,Liang Zhao,Chunwei Shi,Fangyu Zhou,Yanlong Jiang,Jingtao Hu,Wei Gu,Gui-Lian Yang,Chun-feng Wang 대한수의학회 2017 Journal of Veterinary Science Vol.18 No.2

Goose parvovirus (GPV) continues to be a threat to goose farms and has significant economic effects on the production of geese. Current commercially available vaccines only rarely prevent GPV infection. In our study, Lactobacillus (L.) plantarum NC8 was selected as a vector to express the VP2 gene of GPV, and recombinant L. plantarum pSIP409-VP2/NC8 was successfully constructed. The molecular weight of the expressed recombinant protein was approximately 70 kDa. Mice were immunized with a 2 × 109 colony-forming unit/200 mL dose of the recombinant L. plantarum strain, and the ratios and numbers of CD11c+, CD3+CD4+, CD3+CD8+, and interferon gamma- and tumor necrosis factor alpha-expressing spleen lymphocytes in the pSIP409-VP2/NC8 group were higher than those in the control groups. In addition, we assessed the capacity of L. plantarum SIP409-VP2/NC8 to induce secretory IgA production. We conclude that administered pSIP409-VP2/NC8 leads to relatively extensive cellular responses. This study provides information on GPV infection and offers a clear framework of options available for GPV control strategies.

Relationship Between Salivary Pepsin Concentration and Esophageal Mucosal Integrity in Patients With Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

        ( Yu-wen Li ),( Daniel Sifrim ),( Chenxi Xie ),( Minhu Chen ),( Ying-lian Xiao ) 대한소화기기능성질환·운동학회(구 대한소화관운동학회) 2017 Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (JNM Vol.23 No.4

Background/Aims Increased salivary pepsin could indicate an increase in gastro-esophageal reflux, however, previous studies failed to demonstrate a correlation between salivary pepsin concentrations and 24-hour esophageal acid exposure. This study aims to detect the salivary pepsin and to evaluate the relationship between salivary pepsin concentrations and intercellular spaces (IS) in different gastroesophageal reflux disease phenotypes in patients. Methods A total of 45 patients and 11 healthy volunteers were included in this study. All subjects underwent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, 24-hour ambulatory multichannel impedance-pH (MII-pH) monitoring, and salivary sampling at 3-time points during the 24-hour MII-pH monitoring. IS were measured by transmission electron microscopy, and salivary pepsin concentrations were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results The IS measurements were greater in the esophagitis (EE), non-erosive reflux disease (NERD), and hypersensitive esophagus (HO) groups than in the functional heartburn (FH) and healthy volunteer groups, and significant differences were indicated. Patients with NERD and HO had higher average pepsin concentrations compared with FH patients. A weak correlation was determined between IS and salivary pepsin among patients with NERD (r = 0.669, P = 0.035). Conclusions We confirmed the presence of a higher level of salivary pepsin in patients with NERD than in patients with FH. Salivary pepsin concentrations correlated with severity of mucosal integrity impairment in the NERD group. We suggest that in patients with NERD, low levels of salivary pepsin can help identify patients with FH, in addition the higher the pepsin concentration, the more likely the severity of dilated IS. Incarcerated internal hernia within a huge irreducible parastomal hernia with intestinal obstruction

        Jian-Ying Lou,Yu-lian Wu,Dan Wu 대한외과학회 2012 Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research(ASRT) Vol.83 No.3

We report an incarcerated internal hernia in a huge irreducible parastomal hernia-“hernia within hernia.” A 70-year-old obese woman with diabetes who underwent an abdomino-perineal resection 20 years ago was admitted to our hospital with 20 years history of a huge irreducible bulge, 25 cm in diameter. An internal hernia due to an adhesive band extending from the sac wall to proximal colon was found in the parastomal hernia sac during an emergency laparotomy. We cut off the distal colon and relocated the colostomy stoma. The patient was discharged uneventfully 2 weeks after the surgery and was readmitted to have a further laparoscopic hernia repair 8 months later. Unfortunately, an unrecognized enterotomy occurred during the secondary surgery that led to an additional laparotomy during which the mesh was not contaminated by the bowel contents and was kept in place. At 22-month follow-up, there were no evidences of recurrence.

      • Anti-proliferation Effects of Interferon-gamma on Gastric Cancer Cells

        Zhao, Ying-Hui,Wang, Tao,Yu, Guang-Fu,Zhuang, Dong-Ming,Zhang, Zhong,Zhang, Hong-Xin,Zhao, Da-Peng,Yu, Ai-Lian Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.9

IFN-${\gamma}$ plays an indirect anti-cancer role through the immune system but may have direct negative effects on cancer cells. It regulates the viability of gastric cancer cells, so we examined whether it affects their proliferation and how that might be brought about. We exposed AGS, HGC-27 and GES-1 gastric cancer cell lines to IFN-${\gamma}$ and found significantly reduced colony formation ability. Flow cytometry revealed no effect of IFN-${\gamma}$ on apoptosis of cell lines and no effect on cell aging as assessed by ${\beta}$-gal staining. Microarray assay revealed that IFN-${\gamma}$ changed the mRNA expression of genes related to the cell cycle and cell proliferation and migration, as well as chemokines and chemokine receptors, and immunity-related genes. Finally, flow cytometry revealed that IFN-${\gamma}$ arrested the cells in the G1/S phase. IFN-${\gamma}$ may slow proliferation of some gastric cancer cells by affecting the cell cycle to play a negative role in the development of gastric cancer.

      • Effects of Preemptive Analgesia with Parecoxib Sodium on Haemodynamics and Plasma Stress Hormones in Surgical Patients with Thyroid Carcinoma

Wang, Lian-Dong,Gao, Xia,Li, Jun-Ying,Yu, Hong-Yan,Su, Hai-Wen,Liu, Lian-Zhong,Qi, Jun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.9

Background: To investigate the effects of preemptive analgesia with parecoxib sodium on haemodynamics and plasma stress hormones in surgical patients with thyroid carcinoma. Materials and Methods: Fifty-seven patients with thyroid carcinoma who underwent thyroidectomy selectively in Laiwu Hospital Affiliated to Taishan Medical University and Binzhou People's Hospital were selected and randomly divided into three groups, 19 cases in each group. The control group was intravenously injected 0.9% sodium chloride injection before anesthesia induction; trial group I was intravenously injected with parecoxib sodium 20 min before anesthesia induction; based on trial group I, trial group II was injected with parecoxib sodium again 12 h after surgery. The levels of plasma norepinephrine (NE), cortisol (Cor) and blood glucose before, 12 and 24 h after surgery and changes of haemodynamics before surgery, at the end of surgery and 12, 24 and 48 h after surgery were compared in the three groups. Besides, visual analogue scale (VAS) scores were recorded 4, 8, 12 and 24 h after surgery. Results: 12 and 24 h after surgery, the levels of plasma NE and Cor in three groups rose dramatically (P<0.05 or (P<0.01); The levels of plasma NE and Cor in trial groups I and II were evidently lower than in control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01), and those in trial group II slightly lower than in trial group I. 12 h after surgery, the heart rates (HR) and systolic pressures (SBP) in trial groups I and II increased obviously by comparison to surgery before (P<0.05 or P<0.01), but gradually returned to the preoperative level. HR, SBP and diastolic pressures (DBP) in trial groups I and II at the end of surgery and 12 h after surgery were all lower than in the control group, and significant differences were present (P<0.05 or (P<0.01). At 4, 8, 12 and 24 h after surgery, VAS scores in trial groups I and II were markedly lower than in the control group (P<0.05 or (P<0.01), the scores in trial group II being the lowest. Conclusions: Combined application of parecoxib sodium for preemptive analgesia before anesthesia and after surgery can effectively reduce the levels of plasma stress hormones and improve analgesic effects in surgical patients with thyroid carcinoma, and without conspicuous impact on haemodynamics.

The refined theory of 2D quasicrystal deep beams based on elasticity of quasicrystals

        Gao, Yang,Yu, Lian-Ying,Yang, Lian-Zhi,Zhang, Liang-Liang Techno-Press 2015 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.53 No.3

Based on linear elastic theory of quasicrystals, various equations and solutions for quasicrystal beams are deduced systematically and directly from plane problem of two-dimensional quasicrystals. Without employing ad hoc stress or deformation assumptions, the refined theory of beams is explicitly established from the general solution of quasicrystals and the Lur'e symbolic method. In the case of homogeneous boundary conditions, the exact equations and exact solutions for beams are derived, which consist of the fourth-order part and transcendental part. In the case of non-homogeneous boundary conditions, the exact governing differential equations and solutions under normal loadings only and shear loadings only are derived directly from the refined beam theory, respectively. In two illustrative examples of quasicrystal beams, it is shown that the exact or accurate analytical solutions can be obtained in use of the refined theory.
