        Permeation water resulting in the reclaimed land of waste can possibly cause the second pollution, such as the underground water and environmental pollution. Accordingly, Liner layer has been installed in the reclaimed land of waste to block and purify permeation water and prevent this second pollution. The material used as Liner layer is the one for water resistance and that of less than permeability coefficient 1×10-7cm/sec is widely used. As it is very difficult to secure in bulk this natural clay with low permeability around the field, the suitable way to secure low permeable material is that we use blend with good water tightness by mixing it with natural soil which is spread in the site. While this mixed soil which can resist water is commonly used in the site, bentonite mixed soil which is widely used as Liner layer in the reclaimed land of waste is recognized in Liner and durability. However, enhanced engineering method by bentonite has some difficulties in performing actual design-construction, because specification, design method, and basic test data of the needed material in the design are unprepared. Especially the study on low permeability according to the thickness of Liner layer are very incomplete, which would cause many difficulties in determining the thickness of the proper Liner layer to maintain low permeabilityin construction. In this respect, this paper focuses on explaining the changing properties of water permeability according to the thickness of Liner layer as well as the quantity of proper admixture influenced by the engineering properties of Liner layer of the reclaimed land.

        In the paper, the components of a provincial load facility management system are modeled and implemented based on component techniques. Since it is based on component object model and its components are high-level, it is compatible with other systems in different environment and has high reusability. In addition, its components are customizable and are very flexible in various development environment. The component model for load facility management systems can be used by other provinces as a standard.

      • 벤토나이트 혼합토의 공학적 특성 연구

        Mixed soil that is able to resist water is used as liner material. mixed soil that uses bentonite as its blend material is widely used for Liner layer in reclaimed land of waste. It is recognized that the Liner and durability of the material are good. However, enhanced engineering method of using the bentonite is not efficient enough to be used in basic test for the design and specifications. It is still difficult to design and implement something with bentonite economically. So it is required to suggest the standard of bentonite mixture ratio after testing its physical and engineering characteristics to use the result in civil engineering. This study shows reliable basic data of water permeability, which was obtained from a test of mixing sand, granitic soil of weathered rock and bentonite with different pressing strength and permeation water, and strength characteristics with different water blend and blend ratio. It suggests adequate blend ratio and pressing strength that meets the standard of design and construction.

      • 부시행정부의 대 중국 위협인식과 중-미관계 전망

        이 글은 부시행정부의 중국 정책을 중국 위협론의 재등장이라는 측면에서 고찰하고 있다. 기존의 중국 위협론이 가지는 쟁점을 6가지로 정리한 후, 부시 행정부에서 이런 중국 위협론의 요소가 어떻게 정책결정자들의 인식에 존재하고 있는가를 설명하고 있다. 클린턴 정부와는 달리 전통적 보수주의에서 접근하는 부시정부의 대외 정책은 확산보다는 국가이익의 유지, 보호에 기본 목적을 두고, 이상주의적인 모험과 과격성을 배제하고, 철저하게 절제하면서 신중하게, 그리고 온건하게 그러나 미국의 이익이 침해되었을 때는 단호하게 반응하는 성격을 가지고 있으며, 중국 정책에서도 중국을 전략적 경쟁자로 인식하여, 지역내의 세력으로 성장하지 못하도록 봉쇄하는 정책을 형성하고 있으며, 이런 태도에는 신중국 위협론에 대한 인식이 그 기저에 놓여있다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 미국의 인식은 부시 행정부에서 쉽게 변화할 가능성은 없어 보인다.

      • 화강풍화토의 응력-변형률 거동특성에 관한 실험적 연구

        This study aims at investigating the stress-strain behavior characteristics (of the weathered residual granite soil with variation of the initial water content and the dry unit weight under drained and undrained conditions. Associated with the above-discribed study, isotropic compression tests and triaxial compression tests(CU,CD) with various initial water content and dry unit weight on specimens were performed. Stress-strain behavior of drained test should one from hardening to softening as over consolidated clay does whereas undrained test did hardening-constant one as sedimentary clay did regardless of the initial water content and dry unit weight.

        한국의 민족 정체성과 통일을 위한 '열린 민족' 개념에 관한 연구

        This article discusses concept of 'nation' in Korea, and suggests that a form of 'open nation' should be introduced for the future reunification process.In the global era, nation-state system is being eased in witnessed.Also, attributes of identity such as ethnicity, localism, gender, and religion become more important.This trend is now coincided with a democratic development of a society. Korea is a divided country and las almost 7 million overseas Koreans scattered around the world.Yet, a clear definition of the Korean nation has not been scrutinized.There are two schools in the formation of 'nation': perrenialists and modernists.Although modernist position is more persuasive in Korean case, perrenialists' view has been emphasized in North and South Korea due to the political situation.Using the modernist view of nation, a tolerant and open concept of nation should be introduced for future Korea.With this, we can achieve the goal of democratic society which embraces various identities inside the society and also includes the other Koreans such as North Koreans and Overseas Koreans.

      • Vertical Drain 지반의 개량효과에 관한 연구

        It is recognized that many effects rely on the current improvement methods of sand drain, plastic board drain and pack drain, otherwise known as vertical drain methods, form the various stabilization methods when construction takes place on a large area of soft ground. From this point of view, this study attempts to make a comparative analysis of the change in various soil parameters prior to and after the improvement of these methods, showing the effects of the method improvement, and its applications, including the correlation between the soil parameters. The analysis is based on the results of tests and measurements of sites where various vertical drain methods were actually installed in Korea, including the sand drain method (used by the Kwangyang Iron Mill construction site) and the plastic board drain method (used by the Daebul Industrial Complex construction site, and the Kwangyang Container Wharf construction site). As the results, It was found that when regular banking was used together with a vertical drain method, the improvement degree of soft clay ground was predictable when the water content was within 20%, the in void ratio was 1.0, and when the unit weight was 1.8 t/m³, the undrained shear strength was 6 t/ m².

      • AC4C계 Al합금에서 미세조직에 미치는 중력주조와 가압주조의 영향에 관하여

        자동차용 Pump/housing에 사용되는 AC4C계 A1합금을 중력주조와 가압주조방법으로 응고시킬 때 가스기공, 수축결함과 같은 미세조직의 거동과 기계적 성질의 변화를 조사하였다. 압력의 증가에 기인한 빠른 응고속도는 미세수축공과 기공의 결함을 감소시켜 결정조직의 미세화를 일으켰다. 중력주조재는 주괴면 부근에 역편석을 일으켰으나 가압재는 응고시간에 감속에 기인하여 center방향으로 합금성분의 정상적인 편석이 나타났다. It was investigated in the behavior of microstructure such as gas porosity, shrinkage defect and mechanical properties during solidification of AC4C alloy for use of Pump/housing. Crystal structure of squeeze cast was fine and dense, because of the greater solidification rate of cast material resulting from the applied pressure. A normal segregation phenomena of an increasing in amount of eutectic towards the center of the specimen was observed for squeeze casting

      • 화순지역 이암의 내구성과 강도특성

        The purpose of the present study is to examine geotechnical properties of slaking material, especially its slaking characteristics, crushing characteristics and shear behavior characteristics caused by an alternation of dryness and wetness. The data presented on this paper are based largely on such experiments as x-ray test, cation exchange capacity test, slaking test, crushing test, direct shear test and residual shear box test. The experiments were carried out with the following results: Slaking rate and Crushing rate rise 1 to 1.5% with the alternation of dryness and wetness. Friction angle φ in natural state is about 40° , and cohesion c 0.33 kg/cm². With the alternation repeated, the former shows relatively narrow range of variation while the latter gradually decrease to 0.12 kg/cm² after five rounds of slaking. As to the result of residual shear box test, the maximum strength is equal to that of direct shear test. In case of its residual strength, however, shows wide range of variation, 28.61° to 38.16° and Cr gradually decrease from 0.16 kg/cm² to 0.08 kg/cm².

      • 가상 내시경 3차원 모델생성에 관한 연구

        연구목적 : 내시경은 인체장기의 내부벽면을 관찰할 수 있어 위, 십이지장, 대장 등을 진단하는데 큰 역할을 하고 있지만 내시경을 삽입하고 위치를 조정하면서 질병부위를 찾는데는 오랜 경험과 숙달이 필요할 뿐만 아니라 내시경 검사 시술법은 그 교육에도 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 기관지 부위와 뇌혈관 부위에 대해서 CT와 MRI 사진을 촬영하고, 이를 처리해서 3차원으로 최적화 시키는 방법과 가상현실 기법을 이용하여 의료 영상을 가상 내시경용 3차원 모델로 생성하는 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법 : 144장의 기관지 CT 데이터와 60장의 뇌혈관 MRI 데이터를 2차원 단면 영상에서 전 처리과정을 거친 후, 볼륨 데이터의 각 체적소 값을 3차원으로 contouring하는 동일 표면 추출과정을 거쳐 표면 렌더링 하였다. 렌더링 한 후에 각각의 오브젝트는 3차원적으로 보간하였다. 결 과 : 3차원 오브젝트를 indexedfaceset 노드와 viewpoint 등의 노드를 사용한 VRML형식으로 변환하였으며 오픈인벤터와 입력장치인 스페이스 볼을 사용하여 3차원 컴퓨터 그래픽 처리 및 사용자 인터페이스 기능을 프로그램화하였다. 결 론 : 개발된 시스템을 사용하여 표면 렌더링 한 3차원 모델을 네비게이션함으로써 가상 카메라의 이동경로를 실시간으로 변경해 가면서 인체 장기의 내부벽면을 관찰하는 가상내시경을 구현할 수 있었다. 임상에 적용하기 위해서는 해상도의 개선이 요구되며 volume 렌더링을 함께 적용한 hybrid navigation 기법이 유력할 것으로 판단된다. Purpose : Recent advances in three-dimensional data acquisition and postprocessing technologies have been playing a important role in the applications of three dimensional(3D) display of medical data. Virtual endoscopy is the term used to describe a new method of diagnosis using computer processing of 3D data sets. In this paper, we present a 3D model creation technique for VRML(virtual reality modeling language) and Open Inventor. With the combination of VRML and Open Inventor model, we hoped to realize virtual endoscopy on PC. Materials and Methods : 3D model and virtual endoscopy are implemented by using Visual C++ 5.0 in active X and IDL(interactive data language) under PC environment. The 3D volume data is acquired from CT with DICOM format, which has 144 slices. The acquired CT bronchus data is segmented and interpolated by using morphology algorithm. Using plug-in viewer, we make an interactive navigation system on the web. Results : With these preprocessed images, VRML file could be made by surface rendering technique with the help of IDL. The marching-cube algorithm could be used as a rendering technique to transform the serial transaxial imaging data set into simulated 3D images. Also, the navigation into the bronchus on the web was possible using plug-in program like cosmoplayer and worldview 2.1 etc. Conclusions : We can realize virtual endoscope system using virtual reality and three dimensional computer graphic techniques. Virtual MR or CT endoscopic imaging may help doctors to diagnose MRI or CT 3D data set. However, we need not only surface rendering but also volume rendering, which results to be a hybrid method to enhance the image resolution. Therefore, its clinical application requires further development.
