The lengthwise and widthwise deformation of warp-knitted fabrics with different sizes and loading modes were evaluated. Moreover, five tricot samples cut in three directions were compared under four test conditions (A-D). In tests A and B, 500 and 250 g loads were applied on a layer of 20 × 20 and 5 × 10㎠ samples, respectively. In test C, a 20 × 20㎠ sample was folded in half over a rod, and 500 g load was applied to each half. In test D, a 20 × 20㎠ sample was sewn in a loop and subjected to a 500 g load. The lengthwise extension and widthwise contraction analysis results indicate that test B affords the largest values. However, analysis results of the warp-knitted fabric normalized through conversion to a 1 g load and 1 cm sample width indicate that the largest values are afforded for test D. Therefore, pattern reduction may vary depending on the measurement method and properties of the knitted fabric used for the compression wear production, causing variations in the finished product. Thus, an appropriate measurement method must be adopted based on the compression wear design and knitted fabric to be used.

This study pays attention to an entertainment show titled Jalsalabose produced by Channel A, a conservative TV channel of comprehensive programming. According to the extant studies, South Korean (conservative or mainstream) media have focused on the negative images of North Korea, emphasizing its political, socioeconomic, and military dimensions. From the perspective of the extant studies, the show gives an impression to formulate fresh images of North Korea, since it deals with ‘everyday life’ of North Korea (rather than political, socioeconomic, and military aspects) by exploiting North Korean defectors’ testimonies. A narrative analysis of the show, however, reveals that the show romanticizes North Korea by portraying it as a feminine and immature infant as well as an uncivilized world. North Korea is a magic potion, which is able to cure the diseases from which South Korea, the capitalist country, suffers. At the same time, North Korea turns to the Other, inferior to South Korea. This study concludes that Channel A, the TV channel of comprehensive programming, although attempting ‘Cultural Turn’, delivers conserve ideology through the entertainment show without any change on its perspective on North Korea.
Does Data Journalism Matter for Social Media Users?

News organizations apply data journalism practices to producing quantified digital content (e.g., text in an interactive map). However, it is unclear how social media users understand this trend. The study examines how need for quantified news, credibility of digital data-based news, and information seeking through social media influence the usage of digital data. Findings indicate that the need for quantified news and the perceived credibility influence the news tweeting through intention to utilize digital data in news. Information seeking affects the intention to utilize digital data, and it directly influences the news tweeting. These relationships are consistent across two samples.
태스크 수행 과정에서 이모지의 시각적 표현 차이가 미치는 영향

본 연구는 스마트폰으로 태스크를 수행하면서 등장하는 시각 언어 ‘이모지’의 표현 방법이 사용자의 경험에 미치는 영향에 집중했다. 최근 온라인 플랫폼에서 3D 표현과 모션을 접목한 이모지 활용 사례가 등장 했다. 이에 본 연구는 이모지의 표현 방법 중, 2D 와 3D, 모션의 유무가 사용성, 브랜드 경험에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 했다. 실험 결과, 3D 표현과 모션을 적용한 이모지 유형이 가장 긍정적으로 평가되었으며, 모션의 여부가 시각 표현보다 중요하게 작용하는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 평가 요인에는 정보 전달의 신속성, 즉각적 커뮤니케이션 강화, 시각적 흥미 유발이 있었다. 다만, 빠른 처리가 필요한 상황에서는 무거움이 느껴질 만한 표현을 절제할 것을 제시하였다. 이를 통해 이모지 표현 방향이 서비스와 앱의 목적에 맞게 활용되는 데 도움이 되기를 바란다.

Human activites significantly increase the input of organic pollutants. Although dissolved organic matter (DOM) are fundamentally important to the fate of hydrophobic organic compounds (HOCs), deep understanding of the adsorption mechanism of HOCs on water and sediment under the influence of DOM input is needed. Moreover, how the chemodiversity and diverse fractions of DOM affect HOCs sorption still unclear. The current study investigated the effects of different DOM sources on the sorption of HOCs in water and sediment. The sorption experiments demonstrated that DOM increased HOCs sorption amount of sediment, with the greatest and lowest enhancement on Leonardite humic acid and Suwannee river natural organic mater, respectively. The average apparent sorption coefficient (KBC-water, mL/g) of Leonardite humic acid and Suwannee river natural organic mater were (2.5 x 108 mL/g) and (1.0 x 108 mL/g), respectively. Nevertheless, the mechanism was differentiated accordingly to the DOM fractions in term of increased humic and fulvic acid-like content and decreased protein-like content. Futhermore, the characteristic of DOM before and after sorption were figured out but SUVA254 and 3D fluorescence matrix EEM-FRI. The correlation between the reduction in total volume from EEM FIR results and the increasing of the apparent sorption coefficient (KBC-water, mL/g) was observed To apply this hypothesis to the real case, DOM from three water sources (groundwater, tap water and wastewater) and two DOM from two sediments (Andong dam and Hyeonsan river) were utilized to carry out the effect of DOM fractions on HOCs sorption.

Contaminated sediments with hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) and naphthalene (NAP) have posed a significant risk to sediment environment. This study introduced an activated mulbbery biochar (MBK) with alkali (K2CO3) to stabilize Cr(VI) and NAP from sediment. Moreover, MBK exhibited remarkably large specific surface area of 2213 m2/g. and high sorption performances of Cr(VI) and NAP were 340.1 mg/g and 250 mg/g, respectively. Furthermore, sorption kinetics and thermodynamic sorption revealed fast sorption equilibrium, with higher temperatures favoring sorption of both Cr(VI) and NAP. Moreover, environmentally relevant concentrations of DOM significantly enhanced the sorption of both Cr(VI) and NAP onto MBK. While low levels of Cr(VI) (60 mg/L) did not affect NAP sorption, higher concentrations of Cr(VI) suppressed NAP sorption. Microcosm studies were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of two different sediment amendment techniques, in-situ mechanical mixing (MIX) and in-situ capping (CAP), in stabilizing Cr(VI) and NAP. Both techniques demonstrated a 99% reduction in the flux of Cr(VI) and NAP from water to sediment. However, the in-situ MIX technique exhibited a higher reduction in Cr(VI) and NAP concentrations in pore water compared to the CAP technique. Moreover, MBK demonstrated higher stabilization efficiency for Cr(VI) and NAP compared to CAC, indicating the practicality of using MBK instead of CAC for Cr(VI) and NAP sediments. These findings offer valuable strategies for the in-situ stabilization of Cr(VI) and NAP in contaminated sediments using MBK.
