Granuloma annulare (GA) is a common non-infectious granulomatous disease. Generalized GA is the second most common variant of GA. It is often associated with recalcitrant disease progression despite treatment. The lesion of generalized GA typically presents widespread papules that coalesce to form annular plaques over the whole body. We report a case of a patient with disseminated papules and coalescing annular plaques, primarily involving the intertriginous area and mimicking tinea corporis or cruris. Histopathological findings confirmed the lesion as GA. This case underscored the unusual clinical presentation of generalized GA. A case of GA localized to the intertriginous area has rarely been reported. Given the recalcitrant nature of the disease, dermatologists should consider generalized GA as a differential diagnosis in patients with an annular lesion involving the intertriginous area. Thus, we report this as an atypical case of generalized GA localized to the intertriginous area. (Korean J Dermatol 2021;59(10):797∼800)

<P>A multifunctional fluorescent and colorimetric receptor <B>1</B> ((<I>E</I>)-<I>N</I>′-((8-hydroxy-1,2,3,5,6,7-hexahydropyrido[3,2,1-<I>ij</I>]quinolin-9-yl)methylene)benzohydrazide) for the detection of both Al<SUP>3+</SUP> and CN<SUP>−</SUP> in aqueous solution has been developed. Receptor <B>1</B> exhibited an excellent selective fluorescence response toward Al<SUP>3+</SUP>. The sensitivity of the fluorescent based assay (0.193 μM) for Al<SUP>3+</SUP> is far below the limit in the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines for drinking water (7.41 μM). In addition, receptor <B>1</B> showed an excellent detection ability in a wide pH range of 4–10 and also in living cells. Moreover, receptor <B>1</B> showed a highly selective colorimetric response to CN<SUP>−</SUP> by changing its color from colorless to yellow immediately without any interference from other anions.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>A new multifunctional Schiff-base receptor <B>1</B> which exhibits an excellent cell-permeable fluorescence for Al<SUP>3+</SUP> and a color change for CN<SUP>−</SUP> in aqueous media has been prepared. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=c4dt00361f'> </P>

Recently, Ni-InGaAs has been required for high-performance III-V MOSFETs as a promising self-aligned material for doped source/drain region. As downscaling of device proceeds, reduction of contact resistance ($R_c$) between Ni-InGaAs and n-InGaAs has become a challenge for higher performance of MOSFETs. In this paper, we compared three types of sample, vacuum, 2% $H_2$ and 4% $H_2$ annealing condition in rapid thermal annealing (RTA) step, to verify the reduction of $R_c$ at Ni-InGaAs/n-InGaAs interface. Current-voltage (I-V) characteristic of metal-semiconductor contact indicated the lowest $R_c$ in 4% $H_2$ sample, that is, higher current for 4% $H_2$ sample than other samples. The result of this work could be useful for performance improvement of InGaAs n-MOSFETs.
Case Report : Localized Sweet`s Syndrome in an Irradiated Field

Sweet`s syndrome is a reactive dermatosis characterized clinically by fever, leukocytosis, and multiple, erythematous, painful plaques. Histopathologic examination reveals a band-like dense dermal inflammatory infiltrate composed mainly of neutrophils with papillary dermal edema, and no features of vasculitis. We report a case of a 56-year-old female diagnosed with cervical cancer, who underwent surgery and concurrent chemoradiation therapy. Approximately 3 years after completing treatment, she presented with erythematous plaques, principally within the radiation field; the skin biopsy showed features consistent with Sweet`s syndrome. Post-partum galactocele is a common benign disease among breastfeeding women, whereas retromammary and peri-implant galactocele are relatively rare conditions. Herein, a 34-yearold, 1 month-postpartum female, who had augmentation mammoplasty and a 1-month history of breast pump use, presented with left breast enlargement for 2 weeks. An initial left breast US revealed hyperechoic peri-implant fluid collection. Additional US-guided fine needle aspiration was done using a 21G-needle, draining the milk component in the process, and cytologic results revealed numerous crystals, suggestive of galactocele. Various diseases, especially breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma, can cause peri-implant fluid collection in an augmented breast. Thus, correlating imaging features with clinical information and cytologic analysis plays an important role in appropriate management.

Background: Although preterm infants often experience desaturation or bradycardia during oral feeding, specific guidelines for its management are lacking.Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of a commercial thickened formula (TF) on oxygen saturation and heart rate stabilization during oral feeding in preterm infants.Methods: This retrospective study included 122 infants born at a median (interquartile range [IQR]) 31<sup>+6</sup> weeks (29<sup>+4</sup> −34<sup>+6</sup> weeks) of gestation weighing 1,725 g (1,353–2,620 g) and fed commercial cornstarch-containing TF due to feeding-associated desaturation or bradycardia. We excluded infants fed TF to treat symptomatic regurgitation. Desaturation and bradycardia events were compared between 3 days prior to the change and 3 days after the change to TF. Desaturation and bradycardia were defined as SpO<sub>2</sub> <85% and heart rate <100 beats/min during or immediately after oral bottle feeding, respectively.Results: The median (IQR) postmenstrual age and weight were 36<sup>+1</sup> weeks (34<sup>+6</sup>–38<sup>+0</sup> weeks) and 2,395 g (2,160–2,780 g), respectively, at the time of change to TF. The frequency of desaturation significantly decreased after TF feeding (median [IQR]: 2.3 [1.3–3.3] events/day vs. 0.3 [0–1.7] events/day, <i>P</i>< 0.001). Bradycardia also decreased after TF feeding (0.3 [0–1] events/day vs. 0 [0–0.7] events/day, <i>P</i>=0.006). There were no cases of diarrhea or electrolyte abnormalities after TF feeding. Defecation frequency decreased (<i>P</i>=0.037), and polyethylene glycol was prescribed to 27% of the TF-fed infants. In a subgroup analysis of 16 infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, the frequency of desaturation was reduced (2.3 [1.8–3.8] events/day vs. 0.5 [0–1.5] events/day, <i>P</i>=0.042), and weight gain improved (22.5 [3.1–36.3] g/day vs. 41.3 [28.1–55.1] g/day, <i>P</i>=0.019), after TF feeding.Conclusion: TF feeding significantly reduces oral feeding-associated oxygen desaturation and bradycardia in preterm infants. TF may be useful for stabilizing oxygen saturation and heart rate among preterm infants with difficulties in oral feeding.

The incidence of canine cognitive dysfunction syndrome (CCDS), a prominent geriatric disease, is increasing because of the extended lifespan of companion animals. Various complementary therapies have been proposed for the management of CCDS. This study evaluated the clinical efficacy of the Brain Six Complex Extract<sup>ⓒ</sup> in dogs with cognitive dysfunction syndrome (CDS). Fifteen dogs with CDS were included, and four to five drops of Brain Six Complex Extract<sup>ⓒ</sup>, composed of herbal extracts, were applied around the dorsal neck of all dogs twice daily for 1-3 months. Clinical efficacy was evaluated using the CCDS scale, and serum β-amyloid oligomer concentrations were measured before and after administration of the extract. The CCDS scale score significantly decreased after administration in dogs with CDS (p = 0.0313), compared to pre-administration levels. Although the serum β-amyloid oligomer concentration decreased after administration, the change was not statistically significant (p > 0.05). A notable decrease was observed between pre- and post-administration in dogs with β-amyloid levels >300 pg/mL (p = 0.0313). The laboratory results showed no remarkable adverse effects of the extract. This study suggests that Brain Six Complex Extract<sup>ⓒ</sup> extract could be an adjunctive treatment for dogs with CDS.
