With development of RFID technology, medicine and national defense as well as logistics and distribution industries have tried to adopt RFID system. Small projects as well as large national projects have planned to adopt the new technology. However, a lot of companies that have promoted a RFID-based project have confronted many problems due to a lack of information about demonstration projects and absence of systematic guideline. Therefore, its urgent to develop a practical and useful guideline for companies that have considered to adopt the RFID system. In this paper, a practical framework to adopt RFID system is suggested by five phases : establishment of project plan, analysis of objectives, selection of equipments, development/installation, and operation/post management phases. Besides, a detail method by each stages is also given. A systematic RFID system adoption procedure has been defined through an analysis on demonstrated projects and interview with an expert and the adoption method by stage has been suggested. The purpose of this paper is to minimize the entry barriers by suggesting a practical RFID adoption procedure.
Resistance exercise improves cardiac function and mitochondrial efficiency in diabetic rat hearts

<P>Metabolic disturbance and mitochondrial dysfunction are a hallmark of diabetic cardiomyopathy (DC). Resistance exercise (RE) not only enhances the condition of healthy individuals but could also improve the status of those with disease. However, the beneficial effects of RE in the prevention of DC and mitochondrial dysfunction are uncertain. Therefore, this study investigated whether RE attenuates DC by improving mitochondrial function using an in vivo rat model of diabetes. Fourteen Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty rats were assigned to sedentary control (SC, n = 7) and RE (n = 7) groups at 28 weeks of age. Long-Evans Tokushima Otsuka rats were used as the non-diabetic control. The RE rats were trained by 20 repetitions of climbing a ladder 5 days per week. RE rats exhibited higher glucose uptake and lower lipid profiles, indicating changes in energy metabolism. RE rats significantly increased the ejection fraction and fractional shortening compared with the SC rats. Isolated mitochondria in RE rats showed increase in mitochondrial numbers, which were accompanied by higher expression of mitochondrial biogenesis proteins such as proliferator-activated receptor-gamma coactivator-1 alpha and TFAM. Moreover, RE rats reduced proton leakage and reactive oxygen species production, with higher membrane potential. These results were accompanied by higher superoxide dismutase 2 and lower uncoupling protein 2 (UCP2) and UCP3 levels in RE rats. These data suggest that RE is effective at ameliorating DC by improving mitochondrial function, which may contribute to the maintenance of diabetic cardiac contractility.</P>

This study was designed to evaluate the antidiabetic effect of mulberry fruits using insulin-dependent and/or non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus animal models. The administration of mulberry fruit did not affect either body wight or blood glucose level in the normal ICR mice and streptozotocin induced-type I diabetic mice group. In second experiment, prolonged mulberry fruits treatment did not significantly attenuate the blood glucose level in type I diabetes induced by streptozotocin. In third experiment, the antidiabetic effect of mulberry fruits have been investigated using type II diabetes animal model that was induced by administration of streptozotocin to 2-day-old rats. Significant decrease in blood glucose level was observed in prolonged mulberry fruits treated group. In these treated group, the weight of liver significantly decreased than that of control group. In fourfh experiment using KK mice showing genetical type II diabetes mellitus, glucose tolerance has been significantly recovered in mulberry fruits treated group but not in control group. In conclusion, prolonged administration of mulberry fruits significantly reduced the blood glucose level in type II diabetic animals. However, the blood glucose level was not significantly reduced by prolonged mulberry treatment. These data suggest that mulberry fruits can be developed as functional food that has effect on the insulin-independent diabetus mellitus (type II diabetus mellitus).

Ectopic adrenal tissue is observed in about 50% of neonates, but observed in about 1% of adults as it atrophies and disappears over time. In most cases, ectopic adrenal tissue is found in organs below the diaphragm such as liver, pancreas, kidney, transverse colon and male and female genital tract. However, ectopic adrenal tissue found in the uterine adnexa is a very rare case through the world. Ectopic adrenal tissue was incidentally found in the right uterine adnexa after total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingooophorectomy, so we report this case with a brief review of literatures.

The Reaction of S-methyl-S-cysteine(L-Smc) with racemic $s-cis-[Co(demba)Cl_2]-1$ (Hydmedba = $NN'-dimethylethylenediamine-NN'-di-\alpha-butyric$, acid) yields ${\Delta}$-s-cis-[Co(dmedba)(L-Smc)] 2 with N, O-chelation. Oxidation of sulfur of 2 with $H_2O_2$ in a 1 : 1 mole ratio gives ${\Delta}$-s-cis[Co(dmedba)(L-S(O)mc)] 3 having an uncoordinated sulfenate group. Oxidation of sulfur of L-Sm with $H_2O_2in$ a 1: 1 mole ratio produces S-methyl-L-cysteinesulfenate (L-S(O)me) 5. Direct reaction of 1 with 5 in basic medium gives an N.O-chelated ${\Delta}$s-cis[Co(dmedba)(L-S(O)mc)-N.O], which turmed out be same as obtained by oxidation of 2, while an N, S-chelated ${\Delta}$-s-cis-[Co(dmedba)(S-S(O)mc)-N,O] complex 4 is obtained in acidic medium from the reaction of 1 with 5. This is one of the rare $[$Co^{III}$(N_2O_2-type$ ligand)(amino acid)] type complex preparations, where the reaction conditions determine which mode of N, O and N, S caelation modes is favored.
