A Novel Therapeutic Measure for Metabolic Acidosis with Amino Acids

In hypoxic tissue conditions, pyruvate can not enter the Krebs cycle and lactic acid, produced from pyruvate, accumulates to induce lactic acidosis. Pyruvate, However, can also be converted to alanine by glutamate pyruvate transaminase, that could be enhanced by glutamate. Therefore, it would be a fundamental measure to treat the lactic acidosis in tissue hypoxic conditions when one can convert the accumulated lactic acid, through pyruvate, to alanine. To test the above hypothesis, we induced a lactic acidosis in cats and the effect of glutamate on recovery of acid base state and removal of the lactic acid from blood were assessed and the results were compared with those of bicarbonate administration, which is one of the most frequently used conventional measure for correction of the acid base state during lactic acidosis. The results were that glutamate and combined glutamate bicarbonate solutions not only restored the acid base status completely from the lactic acidosis in an hour or two, but also restored the blood level of lactate partially. We concluded that administration of glutamate solution to convert pyruvate into alanine is effective in preventing lactic acid accumulation and treating lactic acidosis.

코로나19 팬데믹 상황에서 기독교상담의 방향: 치유의 성경적 의미를 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to suggest the direction of Christian counseling to Covid-19 pandemic crisis. More specifically, it suggests ways to help Christians in crisis by investigating the meaning of “healing,” a word often used in Christian counseling context. The study first examines the current pandemic situation and mental health, and points out the present situation as mental health crisis. Examining the biblical meaning of healing, it asserts that a word ‘healing’ is related to the growth and recovery and inner part of person, and to the expansion and completion of the kingdom of God, beyond physical recovery. Based on the Biblical meaning of healing, it pro- vides three suggestions for the direction of Christian counseling. First, Christian counseling needs to focus on God’s sovereignty and goodness because it helps clients grow in the midst of suffering. Second, it should help faith community to do caring ministry for those who are in church as well as for non-Christians in order to expand the kingdom of God in the midst of suffering time. Lastly, Christian counseling should emphasize the possibility and positivity for it helps clients see the end of suffering and discover positive resources hidden in hardship. In conclusion, the study suggests a study to survey the current status of mental health among Korean Christians, specific counseling programs that use the theoretical suggestions of the current study, and empirical studies the effectiveness of those coun- seling programs to deal with mental health issues caused by Covid-19 pandemic. 이 논문의 목적은 코로나19 팬데믹 상황에 대응하는 기독교상담의 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 구체적으로, 이 글은 기독교상담에서 자주 사용되는 용어 인 ‘치유’의 성경적 의미를 중심으로 위기에 처한 기독교인들을 돕는 방향을 제시한다. 먼저 이 연구는 현재의 팬데믹 상황과 정신건강의 문제를 점검하 며 현 상황이 정신건강의 위기의 상황임을 확인한다. 그리고 코로나 19 상황 에서 성경적 관점의 기독교상담이 필요함을 지적하며, ‘치유’의 성경적 의미 를 고찰한다. 성경에서 하나님에 의한 ‘치유’의 사건들은 육체적 치유를 넘 어, 하나님과의 관계 속에서 내면의 성장과 회복, 그리고 하나님의 나라의 확장과 완성의 주제와 연결되어 있다. 이러한 ‘치유’의 성경적 의미에 기초 하여, 코로나 19 상황에서 기독교상담이 나가야 할 방향 3가지를 제시한다. 첫째, 하나님의 주권과 선하심에 기초한 상담을 제안 한다. 이와 같은 상담 이 고통가운데 경험할 수 있는 하나님 안에서 성장과 성화를 돕기 때문이다. 둘째로, 하나님나라의 현재성에 기초하여 교회 공동체와 교회 내와 교회 밖 의어려운자들을위한돌봄적관점의상담을할수있도록도와야한다. 이 를 통해 코로나19 팬데믹 상황이 하나님나라가 확장 될 수 기회가 될 수 있기 때문이다. 셋째, 하나님 나라의 미래성에 기초하여, 고통가운데 가능성과 긍정을 지향하는 상담을 제안한다. 긍정과 가능성을 강조하는 상담은 내담 자 안에 고통의 한시성을 느끼게 하고, 고통가운데 삶의 긍정적 부분을 발견 하여 활용할 수 있도록 돕기 때문이다. 마지막 결론으로 이 논문은 코로나 19 상황에서 기독교인들이 겪는 정신건강에 대한 정확한 통계, 이글에서 제 시된 기독교상담 방향에 따른 구체적인 상담 방법, 그리고 이 방법의 효과성 을 검증할 수 있는 경험적 연구를 제안하다.

미국 복음주의 내 성경적 상담의 확장과 ‘신칼빈주의’

The purpose of this study is to investigate New Calvinism’s influence as a major cause to the recent expansion of Biblical Counseling Movement in American Evangelicalism, The study first examines the status of Biblical Counseling in Evangelical Christian Counseling, and then describes how Biblical Counseling as well as New Calvinism have expanded in American evangelicalism. The study argues that to understand the rise of Biblical Counseling 'New Calvinism" should be examined. To prove New Calvinism’s influence on Biblical Counseling, the study investigates the writings of Timothy Keller and John Piper, two important leaders of New Calvinism, in the areas of theology and counseling. The study pointed out that Biblical Counseling was founded on the principles of Reformed theology and has emphasizes God, the Bible, and Church. In the area of counseling theory, the article noted that Biblical Counseling put emphasis on biblical understanding of person and motivation of heart. Based on this examination, It was argued that Keller and Piper, in their writings, share these theological and counseling views with Biblical Counseling. As a conclusion, the study provides implication that examining theological influence in studying Christian counseling is important, and suggests that future studies need to develop concrete models of change and methods to enhance Biblical Counseling. 이 논문의 목적은 미국 복음주의 기독교상담 안에 최근에 일어나는 성경적 상담 확장의 주요 원인으로 ‘신칼빈주의’의 부상을 고찰하는 것이다. 이 글은 먼저 성경적 상담이 복음주의 기독교상담 안에서 차지하는 위치를 검토한 후, 성경적 상담과 신칼빈주의가 어떻게 미국 복음주의권에서 확장되고 있는지를 기술한다. 이를 통해 최근의 성경적 상담 확장을 이해하기 위해서는 복음주의권에서 일어나고 있는 신칼빈주의를 고찰해야 함을 주장한다. 성경적 상담과 신칼빈주의의 연관성을 구체적으로 밝히기 위해 이 논문은 ‘신칼빈주의’의 대표적 지도자인 Timothy Keller와 John Piper의 글들과 성경적 상담의 연관성을 신학적인 영역과 상담적 영역으로 나누어 고찰한다. 구체적으로 신학적 영역에서는 칼빈주의의 특징인 ‘하나님 중심’ ‘성경중심’ ‘교회중심’을 그리고 상담적 영역에서는 ‘인간 이해’와 ‘동기 이론’을 고찰한 후, Keller와 Piper는 그들의 저작에서 성경적 상담과 같은 신학적, 상담학적 관점을 공유하고 있음을 지적한다. 마지막으로 이 논문은 기독교상담 연구에서 신학적 영향의 중요성을 지적하며 동시에 성경적 상담이 최근의 확장에 안주하기 보다는 그에 상응하는 구체적인 상담이론과 방법을 개발하는 연구가 필요함을 제안한다.

부부 갈등과 용서: 자기심리학과 기독교상담적 관점

The purpose of this study is to examine empathy as the key element of forgiveness process in relation to couple conflicts in the light of self psychology and Christian counseling. Specifically, the study examines how self psychology explains the meaning of empathy by using its key concepts such as selfobject relationship and selfobject needs, and then, assesses them in the light of Christian counseling. To achieve this purpose, it first explains the necessity of forgiveness and importance of empathy in the process of resolving marital conflicts. Then, it explains negative emotions like rage and shame couples experience in the course of conflicts by examining the key concepts such as selfobject needs and narcissistic injury. The study argues that self psychology illustrates the necessity of mutual forgiveness between couples through experiencing compassion and empathy each other. However, it warns that overemphasis on selfobject needs might be contradictory to Christian messages found in the Bible, and thus suggests a biblical view on Christian marriage in order for the couples to have a balanced view on their conflicts and related emotions. Finally, the study suggest a qualitative case study or phenomenological studies on couple conflicts, which may reflect self psychological explanation on the nature of couples' conflicts. 이 논문은 부부 갈등 해결의 중요한 과정인 용서의 핵심 요소로 공감을 자기심리학과 기독교상담의 관점에서 고찰한다. 구체적으로 자기심리학의 핵심 개념들이 공감을 어떻게 설명하고 있는지 고찰한 후 이를 기독교적 관점으로 평가한다. 이를 위해 먼저 가족 갈등에서 용서의 필요성과 용서 과정에서 공감이 중요한 이유에 대해 설명한다. 공감을 상담의 핵심으로 여기는 자기심리학의 공감의 개념과 연관된 자기대상의 필요, 자기애적 상처의 개념을 통해 부부 갈등에서 표출되는 분노의 감정을 설명하고, 상호 공감을 통해 상대방을 더 깊게 공감할 수 있는 가능성과 부부 상호간 용서의 필요성을 지적한다. 자기심리학이 제시하는 공감의 관점은 갈등 가운데 있는 상대 배우자를 향한 상처의 이해와 긍휼함을 향상시키고 부부 상호간의 용서 동기를 강화하는 유익을 제공한다. 그러나 기독교상담 관점에서 고찰할 때 용서의 동기는 근본적으로 하나님의 용서에 기초한 부부간의 용서를 실천해야 하며, 자기대상 욕구에 대한 과도한 집착을 경계하는 균형 잡힌 시각이 필요함을 지적한다. 마지막으로 자기심리학의 개념을 사용한 심리 현상의 기술이 질적 연구 방법론과 연결될 수 있음을 지적하고, 부부 갈등 사례에서 나타난 심리적 역동과 영적인 관점을 현상학이나 사례연구 방법을 통해 분석하는 질적 연구의 방향을 제안한다.

칼빈주의 설교가 찰스 스펄전의 우울증: 그의 대처 방식과 기독교 상담에의 함축성

The purpose of this study is to investigate Calvinistic preacher CharlesSpurgeon’s understanding on depression and overcoming process and discusstheir implications to Christian Counseling. To achieve this goal, the study firstbriefly describes about Spurgeon, and his understanding on the causes ofdepression. It was found that he had a balanced view on the causes of andapproach to depression. He tried to avoid guilt from being depressed and putemphasis on compassion to the depressed. Spurgeon overcame his depressionby following Calvinistic principles such as believing in sovereignty of God. The ways of Spurgeon’s understanding and overcoming depression provideimportant implications to Christian counseling: they suggest that Christiancounseling should consider various causes of depression, biblically basedcognitive approach, and importance of faith community. As a conclusion, thisarticle, explaining these implications, suggests that Christian counseling needsto be developed toward promoting fellowship with God and creating concreteministries in faith community. 이 논문의 목적은 개혁주의 설교가인 찰스 스펄전의 우울증에 대한 이해와극복과정의 고찰을 통해 이것이 기독교 상담에 지니는 함축성을 논하는 것이다. 이를 위해 이 글은 먼저 스펄전에 대한 간략한 소개 후 그가 경험한 우울증의 원인과 증상에 대한 이해를 기술한다. 그의 우울증의 원인과 증상에 대해서균형 잡힌 관점을 가지고 있었고 이것은 그의 우울증의 대처 방식에 나타난다. 그는 우울증에 대한 무지에 기인한 정죄와 죄책감을 피하고 긍휼과 관심으로접근해야 함을 강조한다. 스펄전은 그의 우울증의 고통을 칼빈주의의 원칙에따라 하나님의 영광과 주권의 관점에서 이해하고 하나님을 의지하며 극복하고 자 했다. 스펄전의 우울증의 이해와 하나님 중심의 대처 방식은 기독교 상담에 중요한 함축성과 방향을 제시한다, 구체적으로 스펄전은 기독교 상담이 다양한 우울증의 원인의 고찰, 성경적 인지 치료적 접근, 그리고 공동체의 중요성을 고려해야 함을 제시한다. 이글은 이 세 가지 함축성을 설명하면서 기독교 상담이성경적 인지적 접근에서 더 나아가 개인적인 하나님과의 관계를 강조하면서동시에 구체적인 신앙공동체의 사역을 개발하는 방향으로 가야함을 제안한다.

The Meaning and Elements of Healing : Biblical Narrative View

The purpose of this study is to provide the biblical meaning and element of healing by investigating related biblical narratives, and to suggest a biblical narrative approach for Christian counseling. To achieve this purpose, the study investigate three biblical passages; Exodus 15:22-27, Ruth 1:19-22, Matthew 18:25-31. The investigation of the three passages indicates that biblical healing focuses on relationship with God, God’ s sovereignty, and growth of God’ s kingdom. Three passages emphasize that personal experience of God’ s healing should consider God’ s glory and presence of His Kingdom in every area of life. Based on discussion on the biblical meaning and element of healing, the study suggest a narrative approach that may be used for Christian counselors. Christian counselors may incorporate clients’ personal narratives of past experience in God’ s perspective so that they may form Christian identities to counter the problem-saturated narratives that dominated their lives. In conclusion, this study suggests that future research may employ a qualitative case study method that investigates application of the biblical narrative approach to actual counseling cases.

Development of a cost analysis-based defect-prediction system with a type error-weighted deep neural network algorithm

With the growing interest in smart factories, defect-prediction algorithms using data analysis techniques are being developed and applied to solve problems caused by defects at manufacturing sites. Cost benefit is an important factor to consider, and can be obtained by applying such algorithms. Existing defect-prediction algorithms usually aim to reduce the error rate of the prediction model, rather than focusing on the cost benefit for the practical application of defect-prediction models. Therefore, this study develops a defect-prediction algorithm considering costs and systematization for field application. To this end, a type error-weighted deep neural network (TEW-DNN) is proposed that applies a loss function to set a different weight for each type error, and cost analysis is conducted to search the optimal type error weight. A cost analysis-based defect-prediction system is designed considering the TEW-DNN algorithm and a cyber-physical system environment. The efficacy of the designed system is demonstrated through a case study involving the application of the system in a die-casting factory in South Korea.

회중학적 관점에서 고찰한 교회의 가정사역

The purpose of this essay is to propose that congregational studies could provide a perspective for congregation's family ministry's application in and harmonious ministries for the congregation. Many church leaders and congregations have realized the problem in and needs of families in congregation and got more interested in family ministry for the congregation. At the same time, however, they have realized the uneasiness to launch family ministry. This essay points out the lack of concerns on the actual practice of family ministry in congregation and potential problems in the process of family ministry, and then, suggests that congregation need to understand the definition of family ministry that set the boundary and scope of family ministry. More concretely, it introduces congregational studies and suggests the importance of understanding ministry philosophy and leadership, existing elements of family ministry, and resources for family ministry through the perspective of congregational studies. In conclusion, the essay states that family ministry should be "tailored family ministry" fitting to the situation and context of congregation and transform into the congregation "embedded" with nurture and support for families in congregation. 본 논문은 교회에서 실시되는 가정사역의 효과적인 정착과 교회안의 조화로운 사역을 이루기 위해 회중학적인 관점이 도움이 됨을 제시한다. 적지 않은 교회들이 교회안의 가정들의 문제들을 인지하고 그들을 돕기 위해서 가정사역에 대한관심을 갖고 있다. 그러나 효과적이고 지속적인 가정사역을 하는 것은 쉬운 일이 아니다. 이 논문은 교회의 가정사역의 실행과 정착에 관한 관심의 결여와 예상되는 문제들을 지적한 뒤 가정사역의 준비를 위해 교회의 가정사역의 범위와 형태를 지정할 수 있는 가정사역의 이해와 조화로운 가정사역을 위한 준비가 필요함을 제안한다. 더 구체적으로, 회중학의 특성을 소개한 뒤 회중학적 연구를 통해 교회의 목회철학과 리더십, 교회의 기존의 가정사역적 요소, 그리고 교회안의 가정사역을 위한 자원과 가정들의 필요에 대한 이해가 필요함을 지적한다. 마지막으로 교회의 가정사역은 교회의 형편과 상황에 맞는 “맞춤 가정사역(tailored family ministry)"이 되어야 하고, 궁극적으로는 가정을 위하는 목회 철학과 배려가 "깊게 내재된 (embedded)" 교회가 되어야 함을 주장한다.

기독교상담과 정신의학: 약물치료에 대한 기독교상담적 제안

Clients in counseling often consider taking psychiatric medication due to their severe conditions, and thus expect their counselors to provide some opinions regarding taking medication. This situation is not foreign to Christian counselors because Christians also experiencing suffering and pain, which likely cause them to turn to a medication option. This situation indicates that Christian counselors need to be ready to help their clients. The purpose of this study is to provide some suggestions regarding Christian counseling approach to psychiatric medication. To achieve this purpose, the article first provides a brief summary on the complexity of brain and how the psychiatric drugs work, which show the ambiguity of psychiatry in relation to its diagnosis and drug treatments. By providing some Christian positions on medication, the article tries to offer a balanced approach: accepting benefit of medication but being cautious on drug dependence. Following this approach, the article provides four suggestions: understanding strength of counseling, timely referral to a psychiatrist after initial meeting or before ending counseling, and Christian message on suffering. The article concludes by providing some practical suggestions for Christian counselors; they need to attend educational seminars on medication and supervision meetings directed by a psychiatrist or an expert. 약물치료에 관심이 있거나 약물 치료 중에 있는 내담자들은 그들의 상담자들에게 약물치료에 관한 의견을 듣고 싶어 한다. 이에 대해 기독교상담자는 약물치료와 신앙적 관점에 대한 균형적 관점을 갖고 내담자에게 지혜로운 접근을 해야 한다. 이 논문은 기독교상담자가 상담현장에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 향정신성 약물치료에 어떻게 접근해야 하는지를 기독교적 관점으로 고찰한다. 먼저 이글은 약물치료와 관련된 뇌신경의 복잡성과 약물치료의 작용 기제를 간단히 설명한 후 약물치료에 접근하기 위해 기독교 상담자는 균형 잡힌 관점을 가져야 함을 지적한다. 구체적인 기독교상담자의 입장으로, 본 논문은 약물치료와의 관계에서 상담의 장점 이해, 상담초기의 정신과 진단의 치료의 의뢰, 내담자의 약물효과의 모니터링, 그리고 약물사용에 대한 기독교적 관점을 제시한다. 이 네 가지의 접근은 정신의학의 생물학적인 관점만이 아니라, 환경적, 성격적, 영적 영역을 다루는 상담의 정당성과 효과, 정신과 전문의 의뢰가 필요한 증상과 약물의 부작용, 그리고 기독교상담가로서 해야 하는 기독교적 접근에 대한 고찰을 포함한다. 결론 부분에서는 기독교상담자들이 약물치료를 고려하거나 치료 중에 있는 내담자를 더 효과적으로 돕기 위한 현실적인 노력으로 약물치료에 관한 기독교상담자들의 이해를 넓히기 위한 학회 차원의 보수교육의 개설과 참여 그리고 전문가들이 참여하는 슈퍼비전을 제안한다.

Heinz Kohut의 인간이해와 기독교상담

This article examines the relatedness and limitations of Heinz Kohut's Self Psychology, an influential psychoanalytical theory, and its understanding of human nature in relation to Christian Counseling. The way to understand human personality tends to decide theories and practices of counseling. Christian counseling ought to uses Christian concepts of person, but often borrows the concepts of psychological theories on human personality as well. Yet, there is inevitable tension between Christianity and Psychology in using both views for Christian counseling, and this study is an attempt to interpret and assess Kohut's understanding on person in the light of Christian counseling. Specifically, this study first points out that biblical understanding of person is based on the notion that person is created in the image of God, which implies that people are relational being and sinners as well. Then it claims that Kohut's theory confirms this implication and describes people's limitedness as sinners by noting Kohut's contributions to explain the meaning of self, development of self, and self centeredness of self in the light of relational dimensions. However, the study claims that Kohut's emphasis on self is not in accordance with Christian understanding. The study argues that Donald Capps' use of self psychology in interpreting the Bible could be harmful to Christianity. Finally, this article concludes by suggesting a qualitative case study that examines relationship between Christian counseling and self psychology in future. 이 논문은 정신분석 성격이론들 중에서 최근에 그 영향력이 두드러지고 있는 Heinz Kohut의 자기심리학(Self Psychology)적인 인간이해의 기독교 상담에의 연관성과 그 한계를 고찰한다. 기독교상담이 학문의 특성상 심리학의 이론들을 자주 사용하지만 기독교와 심리학 사이에는 갈등과 긴장이 존재하는 것은 부인할 수 없는 사실이다. 이 글은 기독교적 관점에서 심리학의 한 성격이론을 해석하고 평가하는 작업의 하나의 예로 볼 수 있다. 구체적으로, 이 글은 먼저 성경적 인간이해의 핵심이 하나님의 형상(Image of God)의 개념에 기초한 ‘관계적 존재로서의 인간과 죄인’된 모습임을 지적한다. 그리고 Kohut의 인간이해가 관계적 존재로서의 인간의 모습을 심리학적으로 확증하며 근본적으로 불완전한 죄인 된 모습의 인간 한계를 잘 기술하지만 ‘자기’에 대한 과도한 강조는 기독교적 인간이해와 근본적으로 상충됨을 주장한다. 또한 Donald Capps의 접근방법을 예로 들며 과도한 자기심리학적 해석은 성경이 전하고자 하는 원래의 의미를 왜곡하는 위험한 접근이 될 수 있음을 지적한다. 마지막으로 실제 상담사례 분석을 통한 자기심리학과 기독교상담의 연관성을 위한 연구가 필요함을 제안하며 이 글을 마친다.
