미국 복음주의 내 성경적 상담의 확장과 ‘신칼빈주의’

The purpose of this study is to investigate New Calvinism’s influence as a major cause to the recent expansion of Biblical Counseling Movement in American Evangelicalism, The study first examines the status of Biblical Counseling in Evangelical Christian Counseling, and then describes how Biblical Counseling as well as New Calvinism have expanded in American evangelicalism. The study argues that to understand the rise of Biblical Counseling 'New Calvinism" should be examined. To prove New Calvinism’s influence on Biblical Counseling, the study investigates the writings of Timothy Keller and John Piper, two important leaders of New Calvinism, in the areas of theology and counseling. The study pointed out that Biblical Counseling was founded on the principles of Reformed theology and has emphasizes God, the Bible, and Church. In the area of counseling theory, the article noted that Biblical Counseling put emphasis on biblical understanding of person and motivation of heart. Based on this examination, It was argued that Keller and Piper, in their writings, share these theological and counseling views with Biblical Counseling. As a conclusion, the study provides implication that examining theological influence in studying Christian counseling is important, and suggests that future studies need to develop concrete models of change and methods to enhance Biblical Counseling. 이 논문의 목적은 미국 복음주의 기독교상담 안에 최근에 일어나는 성경적 상담 확장의 주요 원인으로 ‘신칼빈주의’의 부상을 고찰하는 것이다. 이 글은 먼저 성경적 상담이 복음주의 기독교상담 안에서 차지하는 위치를 검토한 후, 성경적 상담과 신칼빈주의가 어떻게 미국 복음주의권에서 확장되고 있는지를 기술한다. 이를 통해 최근의 성경적 상담 확장을 이해하기 위해서는 복음주의권에서 일어나고 있는 신칼빈주의를 고찰해야 함을 주장한다. 성경적 상담과 신칼빈주의의 연관성을 구체적으로 밝히기 위해 이 논문은 ‘신칼빈주의’의 대표적 지도자인 Timothy Keller와 John Piper의 글들과 성경적 상담의 연관성을 신학적인 영역과 상담적 영역으로 나누어 고찰한다. 구체적으로 신학적 영역에서는 칼빈주의의 특징인 ‘하나님 중심’ ‘성경중심’ ‘교회중심’을 그리고 상담적 영역에서는 ‘인간 이해’와 ‘동기 이론’을 고찰한 후, Keller와 Piper는 그들의 저작에서 성경적 상담과 같은 신학적, 상담학적 관점을 공유하고 있음을 지적한다. 마지막으로 이 논문은 기독교상담 연구에서 신학적 영향의 중요성을 지적하며 동시에 성경적 상담이 최근의 확장에 안주하기 보다는 그에 상응하는 구체적인 상담이론과 방법을 개발하는 연구가 필요함을 제안한다.

긍정심리치료의 기독교 상담적 적용

본 소고에서는 긍정심리학의 개념에 바탕을 둔 긍정심리치료를 기독교 상담적 시각에서 비평하고 기독교 상담자가 선택적으로 사용할 수 있는 가능성을 탐색하였다. 세속 상담 분야에서 광범위하게 연구 및 활용되고 있는 긍정심리학에 대해서는 기독교적 비판 연구가 선행되어 있지만, 긍정심리학을 구체적으로 상담에 적용한 매뉴얼인 긍정심리치료에 대한 기독교 상담적 비판과 통합의 연구는 아직까지 미미한 실정이다. 이 연구는 기독교 상담자가 실제 상담 현장에서 긍정심리치료를 활용하고자 할 때 고려해야 할 기독교 상담적 가치관과 기준을 명확히 하고, 긍정심리치료의 기독교적 적용에 대해 통합적인 비판과 지침이 필요하다는 인식에서 시작되었다. 긍정심리치료의 기독교 상담적 통합과 적용을 위해, 본 소고에서는 긍정심리치료의 이론적 근거가 되는 긍정심리학, 그리고 긍정심리학의 개념을 상담 장면에서 극대화하도록 구성된 긍정심리치료의 기본 개념과 방법을 소개하고, 긍정심리치료의 기독교적 통합 가능성을 탐색한 후, 기독교 상담자가 비판적으로 고려해야 할 부분을 상술하였다. 결론적으로, 기독교 상담자는 긍정심리치료를 기독교적 가치관과 상충하지 않는 범위 내에서 내담자에게 유익이 되는 만큼 선별적으로 활용할 것과 하나님이 그 중심이 되어야 함을 강조하였다. The purpose of this study is to offer a criticism of positive psychotherapy(PPT) which based on positive psychology from the Christian perspective, and to explore the possibility of its application by Christian counselors. Several previous studies have already examined positive psychology, which has been studied and applied in the secular psychological field, from the Christian viewpoint. However, critical exploration of PPT, which has been designed to apply main concepts of positive psychology to the concrete counseling and therapy settings, still needs to be performed. This study was initiated out of the need of clear guidelines as well as Christian viewpoint and standard in the application of PPT into Christian counseling setting. To achieve these purposes, in this paper, I briefly introduced basic concepts and techniques of PPT and positive psychology on which PPT has been built, then explored the possibility of its integration with Christian counseling, and finally indicated factors that Christian counselors need to critically consider from the Christian perspective in their application of PPT in the Christian counseling sessions. In conclusion, I suggested that Christian counselors employ PPT only selectively to the extent that it is compatible with Christian worldview, and ensure that God be always the center.

기독교상담 사례개념화 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구

본 연구는 기독교상담에서의 사례개념화 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구로 기독교상담자들이 사례개념화의 과정에서 경험하는 현상에 대한 의미와 본질을 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 기독교상담 전문가 7인의 연구참여자에 대한 심층면접을 진행하였다. 연구자료는 Colaizzi의 현상학적 질적 연구방법과 Nvivo 12를 활용한 분석을 통하여 총 94개의 구성의미, 29개의 주제와 12개의 주제군으로 도출되었다. 12개의 주제군은 다시 상담자 관련 영역 3개의 주제군과 하나님 관련 영역 1개의 주제군, 그리고 내담자 이해 요소를 포함한 사례개념화 구성 및 기독교상담 과정 관련 8개의 주제군이 도출되었다. 도출된 주제와 주제군은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기독교상담에서의 사례개념화를 위한 상담자 영역 3개의 주제군은 ‘기독교상담으로의 부르심’, ‘사례개념화를 위한 토대 마련’, ‘하나님과 내담자 사이의 통로로서의 상담자의 역할 경험’이다. 둘째, 기독교상담에서의 사례개념화 과정에서 하나님 영역에 포함되는 주제군은 ‘상담과정에 하나님이 일하심’의 경험이다. 마지막으로 사례개념화 요소와 구성 영역으로 8개 주제군이 도출되었고, ‘성경적 인간관으로 내담자를 봄’과 ‘내담자를 존중하며 문 제를 이해함’, ‘상담목표 세우기’, ‘문제에 갇혀있던 내담자의 알아차림 돕기’, ‘실존적 주제로 진리 탐색을 도움’, ‘문제를 하나님 안에서 재해석하도록 도움’, ‘내담자가 하나님을 만나고 회복하는 통로가 됨’, ‘성화를 향한 새로운 삶을 연습하도록 도움’이 도출되었다. The purpose of this study is to conduct a phenomenological investigation of the experience of case conceptualization in Christian counseling. This study aimed to clarify the characteristics, meaning, and composition of case conceptualization in Christian counseling by examining the experience of Christian counselors through Colaizzi’s phenomenological and qualitative research. Seven Christian counseling experts were participated and data collection for the study was conducted through in-depth interviews. Qualitative data analysis was performed using Nvivo 12, and a total of 94 formulated meanings, 29 themes, and 12 theme groups were derived. The contents of the derived formulated meanings, themes, and theme groups are as follows. The three emergent theme groups related to counselors are ‘calling to Christian counseling’, ‘establishing a foundation for case conceptualization’ and ‘experience of the counselor’s role and limitations‘. One emergent theme group related to God is ‘God’s work in the counseling process’ and eight emergent themes of case conceptualization experience were found as a composition according to the passage of time; ‘Viewing the client from a biblical perspective’,‘Respecting the client and understanding the problem’.‘Establishing counseling goals’,'Self-awareness of the client who is trapped in his/her own problem’,‘Existential questioning to help client explore the truth’, ‘Creating a new paradigm for problem-solving in their life’,‘The client meets God and experiences grace and repentance,’‘Designed to help practice a new life towards sanctification’.

여대생을 위한 ‘기독교 코칭 상담 모델’ 적용 사례 연구

본 연구의 목적은 여대생들을 대상으로 상담을 하는 기독교/목회 상담 전문가들에게 기독교 코칭 상담의 중요성을 일깨우고자 함이다. 사례 연구 참여자들이 여성이기에 겪게 된 차별과 교회 봉사, 인간관계에서의 어려움은 사회와 교회 역사 안에서 오랫동안 반복되었다. 본 연구에서는 여대생이 겪는 어려움을 기독교 코칭 상담을 통해 극복할 수 있도록 돕는 과정을 질적 사례 연구를 통하여 진행하였다. 연구 참여자들은 20대 여자 대학생 4명이다. 이들은 각각 인문대, 공대, 음대, 미대 학생들이다. 연구 참여자를 모집하는 선정 방법은 주제에 따른 이론적 표집 방법이다. 질적 사례 연구는 참여자들과의 기독교 코칭 상담을 진행하여 구성하였다. 본 연구에서 여대생을 위해 적용한 기독교 코칭 상담의 실제 단계는 공감형성하기, 질문하기, 경청하기, 현실을 직관하기, 반성하고 행동하기의 5단계로 진행되었다. 본 연구는 기독교/목회 상담자와 여대생과의 기독교 코칭 상담 과정은 이들이 겪었던 상실 경험이나 분노, 스트레스의 감정들을 회피하지 않고 직면하며 현실을 지각한 후 유익한 방향의 행동을 실행함으로써 성장을 하고 동시에 미래 계획까지 세워볼 수 있었다는 점에서 의의가 있다. The purpose of this paper is to remind Christian/pastoral counseling experts who provide counseling for female college students of the importance of christian coaching counseling. Discrimination, church service, and difficulties in human relations experienced by case study participants as women have been repeated for a long time in society and church history. In this study, the process of helping female college students overcome their difficulties through coaching counseling was conducted through qualitative case studies. The study participants were four female university students. These are students from the College of Humanities, College of Engineering, College of Music, and College of Arts, respectively. The selection method for recruiting research participants is a theoretical sampling method according to the subject. The qualitative case study was composed by conducting christian coaching counseling with participants. The actual stages of Christian coaching counseling applied for female college students in this study consisted of five stages: empathy formation, questioning, listening, intuition of reality, reflection and action. In this study, the Christian coaching counseling process between Christian/church counselors and female college students is significant in that they were able to grow and plan for the future by facing the feelings of loss, anger, and stress they experienced as female college students, recognizing reality, and implementing actions in a beneficial direction.

기독교상담에서 신학복원을 위한 제언

논문은 기독교상담의 이론과 실제에서 신학이 조금 더 중요하고 본질적인 역할을 해야 한다는 점을 강조한다. 신학의 정의와 개념을 통해 신학의 보편성과 필요성을 확인한다. 전문신학과 일반 그리스도인의 신학이 상호 도움을 주는 가운데 신학적 성찰이 모든 그리스도인의 삶과 사역에 필요하다. 기독교상담과 신학이 관련되는 영역을 우선 기독교 세계관의 관점에서 살펴본다. 신학이 기독교 세계관을 형성하게 하고 기독교 세계관은 적어도 세 가지 영역에서 기독교상담에서 주도적 기능을 수행한다. 인간과 상황에 관한 분별이 기독교 세계관으로 가능해진다. 기독교 세계관은 상담자가 활용하는 이론과 실제 이면의 가정과 철학을 통찰하여 올바른 활용을 하게 한다. 또한 논문은 가치관이 신학에 근거해야 하고 이것이 상담에서 개입되어야 한다는 점을 강조한다. 마지막으로 신학이 상담에 적용되는 과정을 세분해 본다. 준비된 이론, 실천, 이론, 그리고 다시 실천이라는 흐름을 제안하고 그 출발에서 마지막까지 신학적 성찰을 개입한다. 논문은 정체성이란 주제를 중심으로 이 네 단계가 기독교상담에서 어떻게 적용되는지 설명한다. The paper emphasizes that theology should play a more important and fundamental role in the theory and practice of Christian counseling. It confirms the universality and necessity of theology through the definition and concept of theology. Theological reflection is necessary for all Christians while professional theologians and lay Christians mutually support each other in their theological understanding. Moreover, the areas related to Christian counseling and theology are examined from the perspective of a Christian worldview. Theology shapes the Christian worldview, and the Christian worldview plays a leading role in Christian counseling in at least three areas. First of all, discernment about human beings and situations becomes possible through a Christian worldview. The Christian worldview provides insight into the theories, assumptions, and philosophies counselors utilize enabling correct application. Furthermore, it states that Christian values should also be grounded in theology and that this is involved in counseling. Finally, it breaks down the process of applying theology to counseling. It suggests a cycle of prepared theory, practice, theory, and practice, highlighting the need for theological reflection from start to finish. Then, this paper tries to apply this four stages in Christian counseling, focusing on the theme of identity.

성경적인 욕구이해를 통한 기독교 상담의 적용 연구

본 논문의 목적은 욕구에 대한 성경적 이해를 돕고, 욕구를 성경적 상담에 활용하는 방법을 제안함으로 욕구 상담의 기초를 마련하는 것이다. 욕구가 중요한 행동의 이유임에도 현실은, 욕구를 부정적으로 보거나 무관심한 기독교인들이 많다. 또한 상담 현장에서도 부분적으로 다루긴 하지만 집중적으로 다루지는 못하고 있다. 이에 논문은 먼저 심리학적 욕구 이론과 아울러 창조, 타락, 구속이라는 성경적 관점에서 욕구를 살펴본다. 인간은 하나님의 형상으로 선하게 창조되었고 하나님이 보시기에 좋았으나 죄로 인해 욕구도 타락하였다. 그러나 예수 그리스도의 구속을 통해 욕구 또한 회복될 수 있음을 강조한다. 다음으로 욕구가 잘못된 방향으로 가면 죄가 되므로 하나님보다 더 소중히 여기는 마음, 모방, 순종의 대상, 두려움의 측면에서 욕구가 우상이 되는 때를 설명한다. 마지막으로 욕구를 성경적 상담에 활용하는 방법을 살펴본다. 첫째, 결핍이 내담자에게 끼치는 영향을 알아보고, 어떻게 결핍과 필요를 채울 수 있는지 성경적인 욕구 채움 방법을 살펴본다. 둘째, 욕구조절 방법으로는 하나님께 맡기기, 목표 바꾸기, 대체하기, 맞서기 등의 방법을 정리한다. 셋째, 원함은 있지만 못하는 부분과 옳고 그름 사이의 고민 등 욕구 간의 충돌을 성경적으로 보고 다루는 방법을 제안한다. 본 연구가 욕구를 성경적 상담에 접목하는 욕구상담 사례 연구의 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다. The purpose of this thesis is to lay the foundation for needs counseling by suggesting a method of using the biblical understanding of needs and needs for biblical counseling. Although needs is the reason for important behavior, it sees needs negatively, is indifferent, and cannot focus on counseling. First of all, we look at needs from the biblical perspective of psychological need theory and creation, corruption, and restraint. Humans were created well in the form of God, but their needs have also been corrupted by sin. However, needs can also be restored through Christ's restraint. Next, the time when needs become idols is explained by the heart that values God, imitation, objects of obedience, and fear. Finally, it is a way to use needs for biblical counseling. First, we look at the impact of deprivation on the client and the method of filling up biblical needs. Second, it summarizes how to control needs such as entrustment to God, goal change, substitution, and confrontation. Third, although there is a needs, it proposes a method of viewing and dealing with the conflict between needs biblically, such as inability and worries between right and wrong. It is expected that this study will be used as basic data for the study of counseling on biblical needs.

기독교상담과 정신의학: 약물치료에 대한 기독교상담적 제안

Clients in counseling often consider taking psychiatric medication due to their severe conditions, and thus expect their counselors to provide some opinions regarding taking medication. This situation is not foreign to Christian counselors because Christians also experiencing suffering and pain, which likely cause them to turn to a medication option. This situation indicates that Christian counselors need to be ready to help their clients. The purpose of this study is to provide some suggestions regarding Christian counseling approach to psychiatric medication. To achieve this purpose, the article first provides a brief summary on the complexity of brain and how the psychiatric drugs work, which show the ambiguity of psychiatry in relation to its diagnosis and drug treatments. By providing some Christian positions on medication, the article tries to offer a balanced approach: accepting benefit of medication but being cautious on drug dependence. Following this approach, the article provides four suggestions: understanding strength of counseling, timely referral to a psychiatrist after initial meeting or before ending counseling, and Christian message on suffering. The article concludes by providing some practical suggestions for Christian counselors; they need to attend educational seminars on medication and supervision meetings directed by a psychiatrist or an expert. 약물치료에 관심이 있거나 약물 치료 중에 있는 내담자들은 그들의 상담자들에게 약물치료에 관한 의견을 듣고 싶어 한다. 이에 대해 기독교상담자는 약물치료와 신앙적 관점에 대한 균형적 관점을 갖고 내담자에게 지혜로운 접근을 해야 한다. 이 논문은 기독교상담자가 상담현장에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 향정신성 약물치료에 어떻게 접근해야 하는지를 기독교적 관점으로 고찰한다. 먼저 이글은 약물치료와 관련된 뇌신경의 복잡성과 약물치료의 작용 기제를 간단히 설명한 후 약물치료에 접근하기 위해 기독교 상담자는 균형 잡힌 관점을 가져야 함을 지적한다. 구체적인 기독교상담자의 입장으로, 본 논문은 약물치료와의 관계에서 상담의 장점 이해, 상담초기의 정신과 진단의 치료의 의뢰, 내담자의 약물효과의 모니터링, 그리고 약물사용에 대한 기독교적 관점을 제시한다. 이 네 가지의 접근은 정신의학의 생물학적인 관점만이 아니라, 환경적, 성격적, 영적 영역을 다루는 상담의 정당성과 효과, 정신과 전문의 의뢰가 필요한 증상과 약물의 부작용, 그리고 기독교상담가로서 해야 하는 기독교적 접근에 대한 고찰을 포함한다. 결론 부분에서는 기독교상담자들이 약물치료를 고려하거나 치료 중에 있는 내담자를 더 효과적으로 돕기 위한 현실적인 노력으로 약물치료에 관한 기독교상담자들의 이해를 넓히기 위한 학회 차원의 보수교육의 개설과 참여 그리고 전문가들이 참여하는 슈퍼비전을 제안한다.

우울증에 대한 기독교상담의 연구 동향: 국내 연구를 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 기독교상담에서 우울증에 대한 연구의 동향을 분석함으로써 향후 연구의 방향을 전망해보기 위함이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 우울증에 대한 국내 기독교상담 연구자들이 발표한 학술지 및 학위논문 216편을 분석하였다. 분석 항목으로는 크게 연구 주제, 연구 대상, 연구 방법, 이론 및 치료 접근의 영역으로 나누어 그 특징과 경향을 분석하였다. 특별히 우울증에 초점을 맞춘 점을 감안하되, 일반 상담과 구별되는 기독교상담의 특수성을 고려하여 연역적 방법과 귀납적인 방법을 함께 사용하여 범주를 유목화하였다. 분석 결과, 연구 주제의 경우 개관연구가, 연구 대상의 경우 연령 및 성별을 특정하지 않은 연구가 가장 많았으며, 개인을 대상으로 한 연구, 기독교인을 대상으로 한 연구가 가장 많았다. 연구 방법은 이론 연구가 가장 많았고, 이론적 접근으로는 학제간 연구가 가장 많았으며, 치료적 접근으로는 기독(목회) 상담과 통합 및 절충주의 접근이 비슷하게 나타났다. 내용적으로는 이론 및 치료적 접근 모두에서 심리상담학적 관점이 차지하는 비중이 더 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 이를 토대로 우울증에 대한 기독교상담의 추후 연구의 과제와 방향에 대해 제안하였다. 본 연구가 향후 우울증에 대한 기독교상담 연구를 위한 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다. This study aims to predict the direction of future research by analyzing research trends on depression in Christian counseling. For this, the study analyzed 216 academic journals and dissertations published by domestic Christian counseling researchers on depression. The analysis items were broadly divided into the areas of research topic, research object, research method, theoretical and therapeutic approach, and the characteristics and trends were analyzed. Considering the focus on depression and the specificity of Christian counseling, which is distinct from secular counseling, the categories were organized using both deductive and inductive methods. As a result of the analysis, the most common research topics were overview studies, and the most common were studies that did not specify age and gender, studies targeting individuals, and studies targeting Christians as subjects. The most common research method was theoretical research, the most common theoretical approach was interdisciplinary research, and the proportion of Christian counseling and integrative and eclectic approaches was alike in therapeutic approaches. In terms of content, the proportion of psychological counseling perspectives was higher. Based on this, the tasks and directions of future research on Christian counseling for depression were proposed. It is hoped that this study will be used as important basic data for the development of Christian counseling for depression in the future.

기독교상담사의 역량모형 개발

The purpose of this study is to develop the competency model required for a Christian counselor to pursue an effective counseling and figure out the essential competency needed to establish his or her identity. Literature research, depth interviews and open questionnaires were conducted. And three competency groups, nine competency components, and forty three competency indexes were constructed by conducting the 3th Delphi method with thirteen experts. As a result of calculating the relative weights (AHP), the competency group showed the order of attitude and qualification, theoretical knowledge, and performance of technical jobs. For the competency components, the group revealed the order of faith attitude and qualification, professional attitude and qualification and self-examination and self-improvement, knowledge of Christian counseling, knowledge of general counseling, knowledge of Christianity, integrated technique of Christian counseling, technique of counseling performance, and technique of advanced counseling. The priority of competency indicators is the love of souls, reliance on God alone, spiritual counselor, sense of calling, wisdom, sense of duty of soul salvation, spiritual training and growth, sacrifice, and endurance. Thirty-four others have been confirmed. As a result, this study shows that it is based on theory and practice in that Christian faith and psychology and integrated application of spiritual competency make counseling effective for counselees and that faith attitude and qualification are the essential competency for Christian counselors to establish their identity. 본 연구는 기독교상담사의 효과성 있는 상담수행을 위해 요구되는 역량모형을 개발하고, 정체성 확립을 위한 핵심역량을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구 방법은 문헌연구와 임상 경험자들의 심층면접과 개방형 설문조사를 통하여 초안을 구안하였고, 전문가 13명을 대상으로 3차 델파이 조사를 실시하여 최종 3개의 역량군, 9개의 역량요소, 43개의 역량지표를 구축하였다. 상대적 가중치(AHP조사) 산정 결과 역량군은 태도⁃자질, 이론 지식, 기술 직무수행 순이였으며, 역량요소는 신앙적 태도⁃자질, 전문적 태도⁃자질, 성찰 및 자기계발, 기독교상담에 대한 지식, 일반상담에 대한 지식, 기독교에 대한 지식, 기독교상담 통합 기술, 상담수행 기술, 상담심화 기술 순이었다. 역량지표는 영혼에 대한 사랑, 하나님만 의지, 그리고 공동으로 영적 중재자, 소명의식, 지혜였으며, 영혼 구원의 사명감, 영적 훈련과 성장, 헌신이 공동순위였고, 다음으로 인내 순이였으며, 그 외 34개의 우선순위가 산정되었다. 결과적으로 기독교신앙과 심리학, 그리고 영성 역량의 통합적 적용이 내담자에게 효과성 있는 상담이 이루어지며, 신앙적 태도⁃자질이 기독교상담사의 정체성 확립을 위한 핵심역량이었음을 확인한 이론과 실제에 근거한 연구였다.

상담과 심리치료에서 ‘가치'와 ‘의미’에 대한 연구의 기독교상담적 함의

This paper suggests that the ultimate goal of counseling and psychotherapy is to 'live well' and it is necessary to pay attention to value and meaning for this. This is because relieving or alleviating psychological pain alone is insufficient to lead a truly desired life. This paper aims at exploration in value and meaning for Christian counseling as a path contributing to change, growth, and well-being in counseling and psychotherapy. For this, this paper first examines the development of discussion and application of value ​​and meaning. ACT in terms of value-oriented approach and the research of meaning of life in terms of meaning are discussed. Next, it is recognized that the two share a lot with each other and can be integrated in terms of theory and methodology. Their commonalities, differences, and clinical implications are studied. Finally, how these discussions can be understood and evaluated from the perspective of Christian counseling, how they can be applied to Christian counseling, and what should be emphasized in order to contribute to true well-being are discussed. First, conceptualization of value and meaning from a Christian perspective, second, establishment and clarification of Christian counseling terminology, third, an integrated study of value and meaning with topics such as well-being, hope, and gratitude, fourth, the need for model development of a concrete process and empirical research. 본 논문은 상담과 심리치료의 궁극적 목표가 ‘잘 살기’ 위함이라는 것과 이를 위해 가치와 의미에 주목할 필요가 있음을 말한다. 심리적 고통의 해소나 완화만으로는 진정으로 원하는 삶을 살기에 부족하기 때문이다. 논문은 상담 및 심리치료에서 변화와 성장 및 ‘웰빙’에 기여하기 위한 경로로서의 가치와 의미에 대한 기독교상담적 고찰을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 먼저 가치와 의미에 대한 논의와 적용의 발전을 살펴본다. 가치지향적 치료접근 중에서는 ACT를 중심으로, 의미에 있어서는 삶의 의미 연구 중심으로 살펴본다. 다음으로 두 가지가 서로 많은 부분을 공유하며 이론과 방법론 면에서 통합될 수 있음을 확인하고, 그 공통점과 차이점 및 임상적 함의를 살펴본다. 마지막으로, 이러한 논의들을 기독교상담 관점에서 어떻게 이해하고 평가하며 적용될 수 있을지에 대해 살펴보고, 의미와 가치가 진정한 웰빙에 기여하기 위해서 기독교상담에서 중점을 두어야 할 것을 정리한다. 기독교상담에서의 적용을 위해 첫째, 의미와 가치에 대한 기독교적 관점에서의 개념화, 둘째, 기독교상담적 용어의 정립과 명료화, 셋째, 가치와 의미와 함께 웰빙과 소망 및 감사와 같은 주제들과의 통합적 연구, 넷째, 방법론 면에서 구체화된 과정모델 개발 및 경험적 연구의 필요성을 강조한다.
