      • A study on online chapel satisfaction and faith growth of Christian university students

        The purpose of this study is to find out the satisfaction with online chapel in non-face-to-face education circumstances. The world, including Korea, is in an unprecedented situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, schools chose online education, and chapel provided by Christian universities was forced to be conducted online. Until now, there have been studies on the effectiveness of chapel conducted by Christian universities, but there have been few studies on the effectiveness of online chapel. Therefore, in this study, the researcher studied the relationship between online chapel conducted at University C and the growth of students’ faith. As a result of the study, it was found that they were satisfied with the format and content of online chapel, but were not satisfied compared to face-to*face worship. In terms of online chapel participation intention and spiritual growth, lower grades showed higher average scores than higher grades. The higher the level of faith and the higher the satisfaction with school life, the higher the overall satisfaction with online worship. Meanwhile, as a result of regression analysis, online worship participation intention and motivation, online worship support system satisfaction, and online worship format and content satisfaction were influenced in order as factors influencing online worship satisfaction. In addition, as a result of examining the effect of online worship on spiritual growth, comparative satisfaction with face-to-face worship, motivation to participate in online worship, and online worship format and content satisfaction were affected. Based on these research results, several ways were proposed to increase the satisfaction with online chapel in non-face-to-face educational contexts.

      • A Study on Improving the Quality of Distance Education Through LMS Satisfaction Analysis

        This purpose of this study is to seek ways to increase student satisfaction in university distance education. We conducted a survey of LMS usage status and satisfaction at C University in Korea. We analyzed the function of the LMS and the satisfaction in 2020 and 2021 through the students’ perception survey. As a result of this study, requirements such as stability of the LMS system, capacity building of instructors, activation of interaction, and quality improvement of video lectures were derived. In order to improve the quality of distance education, it can be seen that not only the stability of the system but also the reinforcement of the faculty’s competence are important factors. Therefore, universities that conduct distance education should seek ways to improve the teaching-learning environment as well as support the strengthening of the instructor’s competence.

      • Abraham Kuyper’s Concept on Calvinistic Culture : in the Reference of Het Calvinisme

        The purpose of this article is to explore the renewal of the Korean church and Korean society in the 21st century by examining the life of Abraham Kuyper and especially the Calvinistic cultural view presented in his Het Calvinisme. Kuyper, who left a great mark in the history of Dutch civilization in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, tried to actively apply Calvinism from the 16th century to his time. In particular, the humanistic ideology that originated from the French Revolution was in solidarity with German pantheism and British evolutionary theory, and in the late 19th century Europe was swept by a wave of modernism. At a time when traditional Christian beliefs and lives were being devastated, Kuyper reaffirmed Calvinism and launched the ‘Neo-Calvinist’ movement. Kuyper led a confessional party that formed verzuiling (pillarization) through the founding of the Anti-Revolutionary Party, and established the Free University, which was based on Reformed principles to educate future generations, and two newspapers, 「De Standaard」 and 「De Heraut」, were founded to enlighten Christians by providing a Christian perspective not only on ecclesiastical issues but also on issues in society as a whole. The theological basis of his diverse cultural transformation activities is clearly shown in his magnum opus, Het Calvinisme. That is, it has been proven historically and academically that the gospel of Christ extends to all areas of human life, not just the church. The core ideas flowing throughout Het Calvinisme are primarily the theory of sphere sovereignty and common grace based on the Christian doctrine of regeneration. In Het Calvinisme, Kuyper presented the justification for the transformation of Christian culture and its practice. Thanks to Kuyper’s insight, in the 21st century, the Korean church is no longer sleeping in the swamp of both privatization of personal salvation and sacred-secular dualism, but it is hoped that she will come out of it and give glory to God by contributing not only to the Korean church but also to the development of Korean society and the nation.

      • Educating Christian Pre-service English Teachers to be Socially Responsible : From a Critical Pedagogy

        The purpose of this study is to explore how Christian English teacher education program can take the role of social responsibility and educate Christian pre-service English teachers(CPETs) to be agents for change as well as professional English teachers. The theoretical foundation bases on the critical pedagogy which implies that language teachers are more than facilitators of communication and they are charged with the social responsibility to help students to seek justice and to be peacemakers in a world of desperate need of change. The paper first reviews the literature about current thoughts in critical pedagogy in English education and especially focuses on how CPETs can play the role of agent for social change and dedicate themselves as followers of Jesus Christ. Then, the paper speculates how CPETs perceive their role as socially responsible teachers through analyzing their vision essays. The paper finally suggests several instructional strategies to ensure that CPETs do not lose sight of inequalities and social problems intricately related to current English education in Korea.

      • Analysis and Suggestion of 2022 revised national curriculum based on 2015 revised national curriculum and previous research

        Korea has made constant efforsffrom the past to the present to provide basic education for students and education that enables them to develop individual careers.tThe government has decided that itewould be beneficial to reorganize the new curriculum once again and has a plan to reorganize it with a new curriculum. In thisdnew curriculum, The Korean Ministry of Education has announced that the high school credit system will be partially introduced by 2022 and fully introduced by 2025 after sufficient preparation. However, a careful approach is required since there are many things to consider before convertaing the current high school curriculum, which is currently operating in a unit system, to a credit system. To this end, teis paper analy es the the differences between the 2015 revised national curriculum and the 2022 revised national curriculum,Mmatters to be considered when introducing the chance,Sand the suitability for the current educational situation. Also,Iin this paper, the 2022 revised national curriculum was proposed through the analysis of 2015 revised national curriculum and previous researc to suggest the perspective of upper-level educational administrative institutions and teacher supply and demand. This study is expected to havefhave meaningful implications for securing diversity in the 2022 revised national curriculum.
