In this paper, a biosensor based on a gated lateral bipolar junction transistor (BJT) is proposed. The gated lateral BJT can function as both a metaloxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) and a BJT. By using the self-assembled monolayer (SAM) method, the C-reactive protein antibodies were immobilized on the floating gate of the device as the sensing membrane. Through the experiments, the characteristics of the biosensor were analyzed in this study. According to the results, it is indicated that the gated lateral BJT device can be successfully applied as a biosensor. Additionally, we found that the sensitivity of the gated lateral BJT can be varied by adjusting the emitter (source) bias.

<P>In this study, for assembling the nanorods which are synthesized by electrochemical deposition (ECD) method, computer simulation tool (Ansys<SUP>TM</SUP>) was used basis of dielectrophoresis (DEP) principle. Following the simulation results, the nanorods assembly device was designed and fabricated using semiconductor technology. Furthermore, an electric field was applied on the assembly electrode with AC bias and DC bias hybrid. The nanorods assembling experiments were carried out as the frequency of the electric field changed. The assembly results were confirmed using optical microscope.</P>

Objective: Several particular morphological factors that contribute to the hemodynamics of the anterior communicating artery (ACoA) have been documented, but no study has investigated the role of the degree of anterior cerebral artery (ACA) rotation on the presence of ACoA aneurysms (ACoAAs). Methods: A retrospective study of an institutional aneurysm database was performed; patients with ruptured or nonruptured ACoAAs were selected. Two sex- and age-matched control groups were identified: control Group A (nonaneurysms) and control Group B (middle cerebral artery aneurysms). Measurements of ACA rotation degree were obtained by using a three-dimensional imaging tool. Results: From 2015 to 2020, 315 patients were identified: 105 in the ACoAA group, 105 in control Group A, and 105 in control Group B. The average age at the time of presentation was 64 years, and 52.4% were female. The ACA rotation degree of the ACoAA group was significantly higher than that of control Group A (p <0.01). The A1 ratio and the A1A2 ratio of the ACoAA group were greater than those of control Group A (p <0.01 and p <0.01, respectively). The ACA rotation degree correlated insignificantly with aneurysm size in ACoAA patients (p=0.78). The ACA rotation degree in the ACoAA group was also insignificantly different from that in control B (p=0.11). Conclusions: The degree of ACA rotation was greater in the ACoAA group than in the nonaneurysm group, and it may serve as an imaging marker for ACoAA.
Size Estimation for Shrimp Using Deep Learning Method

Shrimp farming has been becoming a new source of income for fishermen in South Korea. It is often necessary for fishers to measure the size of the shrimp for the purpose to understand the growth rate of the shrimp and to determine the amount of food put into the breeding pond. Traditional methods rely on humans, which has huge time and labor costs. This paper proposes a deep learning-based method for calculating the size of shrimps automatically. Firstly, we use fine-tuning techniques to update the Mask RCNN model with our farm data, enabling it to segment shrimps and generate shrimp masks. We then use skeletonizing method and maximum inscribed circle to calculate the length and width of shrimp, respectively. Our method is simple yet effective, and most importantly, it requires a small hardware resource and is easy to deploy to shrimp farms.

High-performance semiconductor films with vertical compositions that are designed to atomic-scale precision provide the foundation for modern integrated circuitry and novel materials discovery. One approach to realizing such films is sequential layer-by-layer assembly, whereby atomically thin two-dimensional building blocks are vertically stacked, and held together by van der Waals interactions. With this approach, graphene and transition-metal dichalcogenides—which represent one- and three-atom-thick two-dimensional building blocks, respectively—have been used to realize previously inaccessible heterostructures with interesting physical properties. However, no large-scale assembly method exists at present that maintains the intrinsic properties of these two-dimensional building blocks while producing pristine interlayer interfaces, thus limiting the layer-by-layer assembly method to small-scale proof-of-concept demonstrations. Here we report the generation of wafer-scale semiconductor films with a very high level of spatial uniformity and pristine interfaces. The vertical composition and properties of these films are designed at the atomic scale using layer-by-layer assembly of two-dimensional building blocks under vacuum. We fabricate several large-scale, high-quality heterostructure films and devices, including superlattice films with vertical compositions designed layer-by-layer, batch-fabricated tunnel device arrays with resistances that can be tuned over four orders of magnitude, band-engineered heterostructure tunnel diodes, and millimetre-scale ultrathin membranes and windows. The stacked films are detachable, suspendable and compatible with water or plastic surfaces, which will enable their integration with advanced optical and mechanical systems.
상전도흡인식 자기부상열차 부상용전자석 정격 부상력 산정 기준

본 논문에서는 상전도흡인식 자기부상열차의 부상용전자석의 정격부상력을 결정하는 절차 에 대하여 연구한다. 상전도흡인식 자기부상열차는 U 자 형태의 부상용 레일에 대하여 전자석의 흡 인력을 이용하여 차량을 부상시켜 비접촉으로 차량이 주행하게 된다. 따라서 부상용전자석의 용량은 초기 차량설계단계에서 매우 중요한 요소로서 본 논문에서는 자기부상열차 실용화사업으로 개발되고 있는 차량의 제원을 이용하여 그 용량을 산정해 본다. In this paper, the calculation guideline of electro magnet attraction force is presented for maglev. A study of normal attraction force in maglev train is presented. The levitation and guidance magnet provides vehicle with contact-less supporting of the vehicle with high reliability and high stability. It realizes good riding comfort with less impact to the environment than conventional transportation systems. Levitation magnets are of normal conducting and attractive type. It has U-shaped iron core to obtain nautral stability in the lateral direction.. The attraction force of levitation magnet must be satisfied for vehicle load, passenger load and dynamic load. By using the Korea commercial maglev vehicle data, norminal attraction force for levitation magnet was proposed.

Assessing the health of international migrants is crucial in the Republic of Korea, Asia, and even worldwide. We compared the risk factors for non-communicable diseases among Asian migrants in Korea and the Korean population. This cross-sectional (2015) and longitudinal (2009-2015) observational study comprised a population-wide analysis spanning 2009 to 2015. Asian migrants (n=987,214) in Korea and Korean nationals (n=1,693,281) aged ≥20 were included. The Asian migrants were classified as Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Vietnamese, and other. The prevalence of risk factors for non-communicable diseases (current smoking, obesity, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension) were analyzed. Regarding the age-adjusted prevalence, direct age standardization was conducted separately by sex using 10-year age bands; the World Standard Population was used as the standard population. Among the participants aged ≥20, the age-adjusted prevalence of current smoking was higher among Chinese and other Asian migrant men than among Korean men and women (p<0.001 and p<0.001, respectively). The age-adjusted prevalence of obesity was higher among Chinese, Filipino, and other Asian migrant women than in Korean women (p<0.001, p=0.002, and p<0.001, respectively). Among the participants aged 20-49, the age-adjusted prevalence of diabetes mellitus and hypertension was higher in Filipino migrant women than in Korean women (p=0.009 and p<0.001, respectively). Current rates of smoking and obesity were worse among Asian migrants of specific nationalities than among native Koreans. The health inequalities among Filipino migrant women in Korea, especially those aged 20-49, should be addressed.
