        지적재산권 보호 강화가 국가간 상품 생산분할에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 수출 및 경제성장과 관련하여 상반된 기대효과를 갖고 있는 지적재산권 강화가 특허집약적 산업의 상품 생산분할 패턴에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 연구한다. 국가간 생산분할 측정을 위해 1995년~2011년간의 WIOD(world input output database) 데이터를 이용하여 총수출, 부가가치 수출, 부가가치 수출비율(VAX ratio) 등을 계산한다. 이와 함께 지적재산권 보호 정도를 측정하는 IPR 지수와 산업별 특허집약도를 이용하여 각국의 지적재산권 강화가 상품 생산분할에 어떻게 영향을 미쳤는지를 검토한다. 40개국 23개 산업의 데이터를 이용하여 분석한 결과, 지적재산권 강화로 인해 특허집약적 산업의 부가가치 수출과 총수출이 상대적으로 증가하였음이 나타났다. 또한 지적재산권 강화는 특허집약적 산업에서 VAX ratio로 측정된 상품 생산분할을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. This study investigates how the strengthening of intellectual property rights, which are expected to have both positive and negative impact on exports, affects the production fragmentation of patent-intensive industry. We first measure total export, value-added export and value-added-export ratio (VAX ratio) from WIOD (world input output database) during 1995~2011. In addition, using the IPR index and industry- level patent intensities, we empirically test the effect of strengthening of IPRs on international production fragmentation for 23 industries in 40 countries. The results first answer the question if strengthening of intellectual property rights have a positive impact on value added exports and total exports of the patent-intensive industry. According to the results, as the intellectual property rights are strengthened, the value added exports and total exports in the patent intensive industry are relatively increased compared to the patent intensive industries. That is, the effect of strengthening the patent protection system is biased toward the patent-intensive industry, and it has a comparative advantage in the industry. Secondly, we empirically test if the strengthening of intellectual property rights strengthened the production fragmentation in the patent-intensive industry. The results show that the production fragmentation in patent-intensive industry was relatively reduced compared to that in patent-intensive industry. Therefore, as the patent protection system is strengthened, the domestic technological innovation of the patent-intensive industry is promoted and it is estimated that the production fragmentation is relatively weakened by promoting the production of the technical material used as the intermediate inputs. These results provides policy implication that in order to cultivate a patent-intensive industry domestically, the strengthening of intellectual property rights has a positive effect. However, these results may be due to the industry-specific characters in patent-intensive industry and to see the impact of strengthening of IPRs on other industries, further detailed investigation should be followed.

      • The Development of NCS Communication Skills Performance Instrument

        National Competency Standards (NCS) are defined as required knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to execute one’s duties at work; these are systematized by business sectors and level of ability. To create a competence based society, the South Korean government has established NCS and have promoted the application of NCS in vocational education areas. In accordance with the government’s effort, universities, government institutions, and companies are trying to apply NCS into their system. Particularly, universities have developed NCS-based curriculum and offer courses which are developed based on national competency standards. However, a standardized assessment tool for instructors has not been developed as of yet. With absence of an assessment instrument, instructors are struggling to assess students’ NCS vocational competency. This study developed the performance assessment instrument to assess NCS communication skills, and tested the validity, reliability, usability of developed instrument. Developed performance assessment instrument enables the objective and coherent assessment of students’ communication skills. This study will contribute to the development of an assessment instrument for assessing other vocational basic skills.

        Approximate Dynamic Programming-Based Dynamic Portfolio Optimization for Constrained Index Tracking

        Recently, the constrained index tracking problem, in which the task of trading a set of stocks is performed so as to closely follow an index value under some constraints, has often been considered as an important application domain for control theory. Because this problem can be conveniently viewed and formulated as an optimal decision-making problem in a highly uncertain and stochastic environment, approaches based on stochastic optimal control methods are particularly pertinent. Since stochastic optimal control problems cannot be solved exactly except in very simple cases, approximations are required in most practical problems to obtain good suboptimal policies. In this paper, we present a procedure for finding a suboptimal solution to the constrained index tracking problem based on approximate dynamic programming. Illustrative simulation results show that this procedure works well when applied to a set of real financial market data.

        확률론적 최적제어와 기계학습을 이용한 동적 트레이딩 전략에 관한 고찰

        최근들어, 확률론적 최적제어를 포함한 제어이론과 각종 기계학습 기반 인공지능 방법론은 금융공학 분야의 주요 도구로 자리를 잡아 가고 있다. 본 논문에서는 평균회귀 현상을 보이는 시장을 위한 페어 트레이딩 전략 분야와 추세 추종형 트레이딩 전략 분야에 대해 확률론적 최적제어 이론을 활용한 최신 논문 몇 편을 간단히 살펴보고, 보다 융통성 있고 접근성이 좋은 도구를 확보하기 위하여 확률론적 최적제어이론과 기계학습 기법을 동시에 응용하는 전략을 고려한다. 예시를 위하여 실시한 시뮬레이션은 본 논문에서 고려한 전략이 실제 금융시장 데이터를 대상으로 적용될 때 고무적인 결과를 제공할 수 있음을 보여준다. Recently, control theory including stochastic optimal control and various machine-learning-based artificial intelligence methods have become major tools in the field of financial engineering. In this paper, we briefly review some recent papers utilizing stochastic optimal control theory in the fields of the pair trading for mean-reverting markets and the trend-following strategy, and consider a couple of strategies utilizing both stochastic optimal control theory and machine learning methods to acquire more flexible and accessible tools. Illustrative simulations show that the considered strategies can yield encouraging results when applied to a set of real financial market data.

        비파괴 측정을 위한 근접장 마이크로파 현미경 연구

        근접장의 특성과 근접장 마이크로파 현미경의 배경이론을 설명하였고 유전체 공진기 제작에 앞서 HFSS (high frequency structure simulator)를 이용한 모의 시뮬레이션을 기술하였다. 이것을 바탕으로 원통형 유전체 공진기를 제작하여 금속탐침과 결합한 근접장 마이크로파 현미경(near field scanning microwave microscope : NSMM)을 구성하였다. 제작한 유전체 공진기의 특성은 HFSS를 이용하여 모의 실험한 결과와 비교하였다. Tip의 기하학적 모양에 따른 공간분해능과 감도(sensitivity)를 연구하였고 contrast가 가장 좋은 hybrid tip을 개발하였다. 전도도가 서로 다른 금속시료에 따른 NSMM의 반사계수의 변화를 측정하였고 실험결과와 이론적 시료의 임피던스를 비교하였다. 마지막으로 유전체 공진기를 이용한 NSMM으로 공간 분해능이 1μm의 Cr과 NiFe 패턴의 이미지를 비접촉, 비파괴방법으로 얻었다. We described a near-field scanning microwave microscope which uses a high-quality dielectric resonator with a tunable screw. The operating frequency is f = 4.5 5 GHz. The probe tip is mounted in a cylindrical resonant cavity coupled to a dielectric resonator. We developed a hybrid tip combining a reduced length of the tapered part with a small apex. In order to understand the function of the probe, we fabricated three different tips using a conventional chemical etching techique and observed three different NSMM images for patterened Cr films on glass substrates. We measured the reflection coefficient of different metal thin film samples with the same thickness of 300 nm and compared with theoretical impedance respectly. By tuning the tunable screw coming through the top cover, we could improve sensitivity, signal-to-noise ratio, and spatial resolution to better than 1μm. To demonstrate the ability of local microwave characterization, the surface resistance of metallic thin films has been mapped.

        교통신호등 형태별 운전자 인지반응 시간 비교 연구

        국제사회는 3개 렌즈(적, 황, 녹) 교통신호등 사용을 표준으로 규정으로 하나, 우리나라는 4개(적, 황, 녹색화살표, 녹색) 렌즈 교통신호등의 사용을 일반적으로 허용한다. 본 연구는 국제연합 규정 3색 신호등 사용 운전자들의 인지반응 시간과 우리나라 규정 4색 신호등 사용 운전자들의 인지반응 시간이 같지 않음을 확인한다. 피(被)실험 운전자 40명으로부터 총 1,920개 인지반응 시간자료 및 뇌파 자료를 실내시험으로 수집하고 분석하였다. 분석결과 3색 신호등이 4색 신호등보다 신뢰수준 95%에서 (1) 해석 오류가 없고, (2) 인지반응 시간이 빠르며, (3) 인지반응 시간의 표준편차도 적은 것으로 도출되었다. 뇌파 자료 분석결과 3색 신호등은 비서술적 기억 영역(전두엽; 반응 빠름)이 활성화되고, 4색 신호등은 서술적 기억 영역(측두엽; 반응 상대적으로 느림)이 활성화됨을 확인하였다. 이로 우리나라 교통신호등이 교통안전에 유리한 방향으로 발전할 필요가 있음을 제언한다. This study analyzes drivers’ reaction times from the different ways to deliver the meaning of traffic signals based on previous research in Psychology that descriptive and non-descriptive memories in human’s cerebellums play in different roles. The meaning of traffic signal lights is delivered by either the color of light or the combination of those colors. Total 40 subjects asked to react various images of traffic signals and their 1,920 reaction time data were collected and analyzed. Results showed that three-head traffic signals delivering the meaning of traffic signals with its colors provide with less and stable reaction times, at 95% confidence level, compared to the ones of four-head traffic signals delivering with the combination of those. This study suggest a direction to change the types of traffic signal lights based on the findings from this study.
