N/A Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) is reported to be elevated in patients with sarcoidosis, Gaucher`s disease, leprosy, silicosis, asbestosis, and histiocytic medullary reticulosis. The serum ACE activity was measured in 45 patients with tuberculosis, 6 patients with cnacer, and 50 normal controls. To investigate the correlation between serum ACE activity and delayed hypersensitivity, tuberculin skin tests were performed and the results were compared with serum ACE levels in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. The results were as follows: 1) The serum ACE level in tuberculosis patients was not higher than in the normal control group (p>0.1). 2) The serum ACE level in cancer patients tended to be lower than in the normal control group(p<0.1). 3) A correlation between serum ACE activity and the severity of pulmonary tuberculosis was not present. 4) There was a significant inverse correlation between the diameter of the cutaneous reaction to tuberculin and serum ACE is not a useful parameter to indicate severity and progress of pulmonary tuberculosis and that there is an inverse correlation between delayed hypersensitivity and serum ACE level. We suggest that this inverse relationship results from competition for the relevant signal molecules on the macrophage surface.

A system is considered which is required to perform tasks that arrive randomly during a fixed mission duration. We develop queueing models to obtain the mission effectiveness and the blocking probabilities. Exact probabilities are computed by using the Finite Fourier Cosine Transform.

Intermittent CSR 측정법을 이용하여 NBR 오링의 노화 거동과 수명 예측에 관하여 연구하였다. Intermittent CSR jig는 오링의 실제 사용 환경을 고려하여 설계 제작하였다. 오링의 노화 거동은 40~120℃에서의 가속 노화 연구를 통하여 관찰하였다. 오링은 80℃ 이하에서 비선형 노화 거동을 나타내었다. 오링의 수명은 고장 조건 20%에 대하여 Arrhenius plot으로부터 32.5년, WLF plot으로부터 22.6년으로 나타났다. Intermittent CSR testing was used to investigate the degradation of a NBR O-ring, and also the prediction of its life-time. An intermittent CSR jig was designed taking into consideration the O-ring’s environment under use. Degradation of O-rings by thermal aging was observed between 40℃ and 120℃. O-rings showed non-linear degradation behavior under 80℃. At 20% of failure condition, predicted life-times were 32.5 years by Arrhenius plot and 22.6 years by WLF plot.
