Mast cells are primary mediators of allergic inflammation. Beta-1,3-glucan (BG) protects against infection and shock by activating immune cells. Activation of the BG receptor induces an increase in intracellular $Ca^{2+}$, which may induce exocytosis. However, little is known about the precise mechanisms underlying BG activation of immune cells and the possible role of mitochondria in this process. The present study examined whether BG induced mast cell degranulation, and evaluated the role of calcium transients during mast cell activation. Our investigation focused on the role of the mitochondrial calcium uniporter (MCU) in BG-induced degranulation. Black mouse (C57) bone marrow-derived mast cells were stimulated with $0.5{\mu}g/ml$ BG, $100{\mu}g/ml$ peptidoglycan (PGN), or $10{\mu}M$ A23187 (calcium ionophore), and dynamic changes in cytosolic and mitochondrial calcium and membrane potential were monitored. BG-induced mast cell degranulation occurred in a time-dependent manner, and was significantly reduced under calcium-free conditions. Ruthenium red, a mitochondrial $Ca^{2+}$ uniporter blocker, significantly reduced mast cell degranulation induced by BG, PGN, and A23187. These results suggest that the mitochondrial $Ca^{2+}$ uniporter has an important regulatory role in BG-induced mast cell degranulation.
Detection of Mitochondrial ATP-Sensitive Potassium Channels in Rat Cardiomyocytes

Mitochondrial ATP-sensitive potassium $(mitoK_{ATP})$ channels play a role in early and late ischemic preconditioning. Nevertheless, the subunit composition of $mitoK_{ATP}$ channels remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the subunit composition of $mitoK_{ATP}$ channels in mitochondria isolated from rat cardiac myocytes. Mitochondria were visualized using the red fluorescence probe, Mitrotracker Red, while $mitoK_{ATP}$ channels were visualized using the green fluorescence probe, glibenclamide-BODIPY. The immunofluorescence confocal microscopy revealed the presence of Kir6.1, Kir6.2 and SUR2 present in the cardiac mitochondria. Western blot analysis was carried to further investigate the nature of $mitoK_{ATP}$ channels. For SUR proteins, a 140-kDa immunoreactive band that corresponded to SUR2, but no SUR1 was detected. For Kir6.2, three bands $({\sim}44,\;{\sim}46,\;and\;{\sim}30\;kDa)$ were detected, and a specific ${\sim}46-kDa$ immunoreactive band corresponding to Kir6.1 was also observed. These observations suggest that the subunits of $mitoK_{ATP}$ channels in rat myocytes include Kir6.1, Kir6.2, and a SUR2-related sulfonylurea-binding protein.

To better understand 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E) fluctuation and accumulation in perennial plant, 20E concentration in individual organs of Achyranthes japonica during reproductive growth stage were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Concentrations of 20E in root and floral part were much higher than those in stem and leaf during reproductive growth stage and rapidly increased from flowering stage in August to seed-setting stage in October, and thereafter decreased at the stage of seed maturing in November. In contrast, the 20E concentrations in stem and leaf gradually decreased during reproductive growth. In the analysis of detailed fluctuation of 20E in floral part, the 20E concentration was highest in the seed at the early stage of seed development, compared to flower, peduncle, seed coat, and/or seed in other growth stages, and decreased during seed maturation. The accumulation of 20E in reproductive organs, especially seed and root, suggests that 20E has a defensive role for protection of especially newly developing organs against phytophagous insects.
고효율 백색 발광다이오드 구현을 위한 고점도 형광체 정량 토출 공정 연구

현재 고효율 백색 발광다이오드(light emitting diode, LED) 구현을 위한 고점도 형광체 토출에 대한 많은 연구가 진행 중이다. 백색 발광다이오드에서 제품성능에 영향을 미칠 수 있어 고점도 형광체의 정량토출은 중요하다. 그러나 기존 연구에서 고점도 형광체 정량토출의 어려움이 있었다. 고점도 형광체의 정량토출을 위해서 본 연구에서는 다양한 점도에서 미세토출이 가능한 정전기력 프린팅 기술을 적용하였다. 전압 변화에 따른 요구 적출형(drop on demand, DOD) 토출 실험을 진행하여 토출 시 노즐의 메니스커스 각도와 토출 도트 직경 사이의 상관관계를 도출하였다. 토출 전압이 증가함에 따라, 토출 메니스커스 각도는 증가하고 토출 도트 직경은 감소하였다. Currently various studies are underway for dispensing high-viscosity phosphor. These studies have reported limitations and challenges in the dispensing process. The discharged amount of phosphor was approximately the same each time which is important for the implementation of high-efficiency white LED technology. This paper present high-viscosity phosphor dispensing process for white LED implementation by using electrostatic printing technology. The voltage controlled DOD (Drop-On-Demand) discharge experiment was studied to determine angle of drop meniscus at nozzle and dot diameter. With increase in Discharge voltage, the discharge angle of meniscus increased while dot diameter decreased. Therefore it can be concluded that we can control the discharge rate by controling the discharge angle of meniscus.

The Electrostatic Inkjet system has many applications in cost and time effective manufacturing of printed electronics like RFIDs, OLEDs and flexible displays etc. This paper presents pneumatic ink supply system for an electrohydrodynamic deposition (EHD) setup for the precise pressure control to produce a small amount of discharge at the end of the capillary. The meniscus shape depends upon the applied pneumatic pressure to the ink supply system. Furthermore, this paper also compares meniscus shapes at different applied pneumatic pressures. It is concluded that patterning of constant line-width can be achieved better by controlling the meniscus shape using this technique.
용액 미립화공정 기반의 마이크로 스텐실 프린팅에 관한 연구

In this study, experiments were conducted for micro pattern printing to combine solution atomization process and stencil printing based on electrospray deposition. The stencil mask fabricated by etching the photosensitive glass placed below 0.3 mm distance to substrate has 100 um line width. The process parameters of electrospray deposition system for the atomization of the solution are applied voltage and supply flow rate of the solution. Meniscus angle of cone-jet was optimized by varying the supply flow rate from 0.3 ml/hr to 0.7 ml/hr. Voltage condition was verified having symmetric cone-jet angle and no pulsation at 8.5 kV applied voltage. In addition, a number of micro patterns are printed using a single 1 step process by solution atomization process. Variable line width of approximate 100 um was confirmed by changing conditions of solution atomization regardless of the pattern size of stencil mask.

The advances of upper gastrointestinal endoscopy in recent years have facilitated the ebservation on the conditions inside the esophagus, stomach and duodenum, and the diagnos- tic value of the endoscopic examination on various diseases has improved markedly. In some cases it is difficult in five the accurate diagnosis with single study and the repetitions are required for accurate diagnosis. Sometimes it is necessary to observe the change of lesions for proper management. We performed 6829 times of upper gastrointestinal endoscopy during the period from January, 1969 to August 15, 1978 in 6396 cases. Among them 316 cases had the endoscopic cxaminations twice or more. The results were as follow: The age distribution of 31() cases were from the age of 19 to 77 and the most of them e ere between 4th and 6th decades. The ratio of male to female was 3. 9: 1. 2. The cases had endoscopic examinations twice were 247 patients, thrice 42, four times 15, five times 6, six times 4 seven times 1 and nine times l. 3. The confirmed diagnoses of 31g cases were benign gastric ulcer in ]54 cases, gastritis in 5g cases, gastric cancer in 4g cases, duodenal ulcer in 26 cases and others in 44 cases. The numbers of patients having two diseases in each were 13 cases. 4. The reasons of repetition of endoscopy were followings as follow-up study in 285 times, uncertain diagnosis in 72 times, continuation of symptoms in 37 times, inadequate study of previous examination in 21 times, annual check in 20 times and pseudopositive result of X-ray in one time. 5. Endoscopy were repeated within one week from previous study in 72 times, 1-2 weeks in 89 times, 2-3 weeks in 51 times, 3-4 weeks in 30 times, 1-2 months in 47 times, 2-3 months in 21 times, 3-6 months in 36 times, 6-l3 months in 28 times, 1-2 years in 3z times, .2-3 years in 15 times and over 3 years from previous examination in 12 times. 6. Confirmed diagnosis were made with the first examinations in 245 cases, second in 60 cases, third in 6 cases and 4th in 2 cases. The diagnosis could not be made definitely in three cases even with the repetition of examinations. 7. In follow-up studies, the lesions were improved over moderate degree in 148 times out of 178 examinations of gastric ulcer, and 18 times out of 27 examinations of duodenal ulcer. In gastritis only g times showed improved lesions from 25 examinations. The gastric cancer recurred in 6 cases out of 20 after operation and the lesion was improved in one case out of 8 cases after chemotherapy without operation. 8. To confirm the lesions the endoscopic examinations were repeated 72 times and we could confirm the lesions in 68 times, but in 4 times the lesions could not be confirmed with repeated endoscopic examination. G. The patients with the benign gastric ulcer were diagr.osed to benign ulcer definitely with first examination in most cases, but 21 cases needed to be differentiated from malignant lesions at first examination and 12 cases were diagnosed to malignant ulcer at first exami- nations. 10. To get definite diagnosis the gastroscopy was repeated 20 times in gastric cancer. Among them 10 cases showed negative results in biopsy which were converted to positive with repeated biopsy in 4 cases, but in 6 cases the results of hiopsy in repeated study were negative whiche were confirmed to cancer after surgery. In 5 cases of gastric cancer the lesions looked like benign but in biopsy specimen malignant cells were seen which had repeated examination for confirmation. The remaining 5 cases had inadequate study at first but were confirmed at second examinations. Li. The reasons of unsatisfactory examinations in 21 cases were as follow: too much blood in stomach in 7 cases, food particle in stomach in 5 cases, examiner's carelessness in 3 cases, patients uncooperation in 2 cases, poor selection of instrument, poor expansion of stomach, barium coating and drug coating on stomach mucosa were one case in each.
고점도 전도성 잉크 패터닝 기술을 이용한 고성능 미세전극 패턴 구현

EHD (electro-hydro-dynamics) patterning was performed under atmospheric pressure at room temperature in a single step. The drop diameter smaller than nozzle diameter and applied high viscosity conductive ink in EHD patterning method provide a clear advantage over the piezo and thermal inkjet printing techniques. The micro electrode pattern was printed by continuous EHD patterning method using 3-type control parameters (input voltage, patterning speed, nozzle pressure). High viscosity (1000cps) conductive ink with 75wt% of silver nanoparticles was used. EHD cone type nozzle having an internal diameter of 50μm was used for experimentation. EHD jetting mode by input voltage and applied 1st order linear regression in stable jet mode was analyzed. The stable jet was achieved at the amplitude of 1.4~1.8 kV. 10μm micro electrode pattern was created at optimized parameters (input voltage 1.6kV, patterning speed 25mm/sec and nozzle pressure -2.3kPa).
