The ideal cooling system of engine and the effect followed of it contribute greatly to the engine performance. The change of engine performances depending on the improvement of engine cooling system is the main subject for this study and these experiments are carried out in the specific engine. which has same technical specifications by fitting the conventional cooling system and the split cooling system. respectively and get various experimental results like engine outputs. fuel consumption. engine cooling temperature. and surface temperature of metal. etc. Reformed split cooling system is transformed from the in-line type coolant flow. which is flowing via water jacket from the cylinder block to cylinder head into the parallel type coolant flow which is also flowing via water jacket but cylinder head & cylinder block separated and blocked each other. Through these experiments. it took effect on the improvement of engine performance by advancing the ignition timing due to the reduction of engine knocking as a result of the drop of temperature in cylinder head and also this brought various positive effects like the suppression of blow-by gas creation, improved thermal efficiency, and so on due to the reduction of piston friction loss as a result of the temperature rise of metal surface and the reduction of piston gaps as a result of the reduction of total heat capacity.

Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) is defined as posttraumatic coma for over 24 hours without intracranial mass lesion. the purpose of this study was to examine the neurologic state of the patient and to evaluate the psychiatric sequela after DAI by psychometric analysis.Twenty eight patients with DAI were analyzed by a psychoanalyzer. Electroencephalography and magnetic resonance(MR) imaging were performed on eighteen patients. The ratio of male to female was about 6 to 1 and the major cause was traffic accident followed by fall down. Radiologic abnormality in MR image was predictors of poor outcome and early neurologic state was one of the most significant prognostic factor. Psychometric anlysis revealed that lntelligence Quotient was correlated with outcomes and most of patients with DAI were in normal range of lntelligence Quotient(67.9%) but they have suffered from variable psychologic problems, such as depression, anziety, phobia and dementia. Previous studies in DAI have been based principally on the prognostic factors and treatment without a systemic apporach to their meurologic and psychologic problems. Psychometric analysis can reveal psychologic symptom in the patients with DAI and appropriate management of their psychiatric problems may carry important implications for management of patients with moderate or servere DAI and improve rehabilitation outcomes.

To determine the factors affecting development and recovery of symptomatic vasospasm. the author analysed the results of patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms treated by nimodipine and prophylactic “triple0H” therapy. From January 1991 to December 1995. 199 patients underwent surgery for ruptured intracerebral aneurysms. Combined hypervolemic hemodilution was initiated at the time of admission. Induced hypertension was added immediately after surgery(aneurysmal neck clipping). All patients received nimodipine intravenously or orally until the 14th day of SAH Sixty patients underwent surgery on Day 0 through 2 after attacks of subarachnoid hemorrhage(Goup A) 105 patients on Day 3 through 14(Group B). and 35 patients after Day 14(Group C). Of 199 patients. 76(38%) patients suffered from symtomatic vasospasm. Symptomatic vasospasm occured in 34% of Group A patients. 33% of Group B patients. and 5% of Group C patients. Symtomatic vasospasm occured more frequently in the older age group. the Fisher group 3 and Hunt & Hess grades 3, 4 and 5 groups. Of 76 patients who suffered from symptomatic vasospasm. 47(62%) patients recovered completely. The author analysed the relationship between recovery rate and sex, age. Hunt & Hess agrde and Fisher group among these 76 patients. Recovery rates between these groups were not significantly different. Based on this experience the author believes that Hunt-Hess grade. Fisher group and age are important factors affecting symptomatic vasospasm development.

<P>We present a straightforward method for simultaneously enhancing the electrical conductivity, environmental stability, and photocatalytic properties of graphene films through one-step transfer of CVD graphene and integration by introducing TiO2/graphene oxide layer. A highly durable and flexible TiO2 layer is successfully used as a supporting layer for graphene transfer instead of the commonly used PMMA. Transferred graphene/TiO2 film is directly used for measuring the carrier transport and optoelectronic properties without an extra TiO2 removal and following deposition steps for multifunctional integration into devices because the thin TiO2 layer is optically transparent and electrically semiconducting. Moreover, the TiO2 layer induces charge screening by electrostatically interacting with the residual oxygen moieties on graphene, which are charge scattering centers, resulting in a reduced current hysteresis. Adsorption of water and other chemical molecules onto the graphene surface is also prevented by the passivating TiO2 layer, resulting in the long term environmental stability of the graphene under high temperature and humidity. In addition, the graphene/TiO2 film shows effectively enhanced photocatalytic properties because of the increase in the transport efficiency of the photogenerated electrons due to the decrease in the injection barrier formed at the interface between the F-doped tin oxide and TiO2 layers.</P>

Weeds are important biotic constraints to agricultural production, so herbicides are widely used with agronomic crops as the primary method of weed control. Accordingly, extensive efforts to develop herbicide-resistant (HR) crops have been made using various methods, including clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/CRISPR-associated protein 9 (CRISPR/Cas9)-mediated gene editing. Thus far, most of the HR crops developed using gene-editing methods have adopted site-specific mutations of endogenous genes, but rarely by insertion or deletion (indel) mutations. In this study, we attempted to confer herbicide resistance in plants via indel mutations using the CRISPR/Cas9-mediated editing of 5-oxoprolinase 1 (OXP1) gene as a target in Arabidopsis. OXP1 is an enzyme that is involved in 5-oxoproline metabolism and the glutathione recycling pathway. Here, we generated the indel mutants of Arabidopsis using OXP1 editing (oxp1/CRISPR), and verified a reduced sensitivity to sulfamethoxazole (Smex), a sulfonamide herbicide that suppresses the growth of cells by inhibiting the folic acid biosynthetic pathway. In addition, we successfully obtained OXP1-edited plants by screening the transgenic plants on Smex-containing media, suggesting the possible use of OXP1 as a marker for plant gene editing. Subsequent molecular analyses demonstrated the indel mutations on OXP1 in the Smex-resistant Arabidopsis plants. Moreover, the oxp1/CRISPR plants exhibited tolerance to heavy metals, such as cadmium, and another sulfonamide compound, amisulbrom. Therefore, the present study provides a way to confer resistance to sulfonamide compounds in plants by generating indel mutations.

Vascular thrombosis is one of the most serious complications in patients with nephrotic syndrome. but thrombosis occurs mainly in venous system. Ar terial thrombosis is much less common and coronary artery thrombosis is rarely reported worldwide. We experienced a case of an acute myocardial infarction due to coronary artery thrombosis in a young male with minimal change disease during nephrotic relapse. This 35 year-old male was diagnosed to have minimal change nephrotic syndrome 15 years before admission. Two days before admission, he was found to have heavy proteinuria and edema which led to impression of relapse of nephrotic syndrome. Acute myocardial infarction was developed one day before admission and emergency thrombolytic therapy was performed. After admission, coronary angiography was performed and multiple thrombi were identified in distal left anterior descending artery without marked atherosclerotic changes. The formation of intracoronary thrombi in this patient appeared to be due to the hypercoagulable state associated with the relapse of nephrotic syndrome.
