With the widespread use of fertility medications and techniques of in vitro fertilization, multiple gestation has become epidemic in modern obstetric practice. Delivery of the initial fetus in a multiple gestation usually is followed by delivery of the subsequent fetus or fetuses shortly thereafter. However in rare circumstances, the delivery is delayed for days due to disappearance of uterine contraction after delivery of the first fetus. When uterine activity ceases after the delivery of the first neonate, a policy of nonintervention may be considered in case of an immature or very premature delivery, in order to achieve a gestational age for the remaining fetus(es) more compatible with neonatal survival. We report a case of twin gestation with prolongation of the delivery interval between the twins for 46 days.

In order to seek optimum conditions for ZSM-5 formation in the absence of organic template,the effects of both starting composition and water glass as silica source were examined. Water glass was most inexpensive among silica sources, but this was difficulty in reactant control because of contained much alkali ingredient, Considering environmental problem and economic performance,chose alkali drawing-out method to use methanol newly to remove alkali ingredient of waterglass. Characterization of ZSM-5 was carried out by means of XRD, SEM.

MCMB (Mesocarbon microbeads) is a kind of anode material for lithium-ion secondary battery. MCMB charge/discharge cycle stability is one of the important criterion at lithium-ion battery operation. In this study, the cycling stability of a lithium-ion secondary battery has been examined. MCMB was made by the direct solvent extraction method. After the MCMB was carbonized and graphitized, the measurement of charge/discharge capacity and efficiency were carried out. In the result, discharge capacity of MCMB in the initial cycle was above 290.0 mAh/g. After the second cycle, efficiency of charge/discharge MCMB was about 98%. These results were similar to the commercial MCMB product.

정보화 시대가 대두됨에 따라 전지는 동력 공급원으로 장난감에서부터 노트북 컴퓨터 등의 첨단제품에 이르기까지 모든 무선,휴대형 제품에 필요하다. 이에 따라 전지를 소형,경량화하고 cycle 수명 및 안정성을 향상시키기 위한 노력이 끊임없이 이루어지고 있다. 리튬은 불활성 특성과 낮은 비중 때문에 전지재료로서 높은 관심을 가지고 있는 물질이다. 구체적으로 기존의 재래식 전지에 비해 에너지 밀도가 크고, 발생 전압이 높으며, 낮은 자가 방전율과 광범위한 온도 범위 내에서 사용이 가능하다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 1차 전지에서 이미 1960년대부터 음극과 비이온 전해액에 리튬 금속을 사용했으며, 81년에는 2차 전지음윽 활물질로써 리튬금속이 개발되었다.

<P>TonEBP is a Rel domain-containing transcription factor implicated in adaptive immunity, viral replication, and cancer. In the mammalian kidney, TonEBP is a central regulator of water homeostasis. Animals deficient in TonEBP suffer from life-threatening dehydration due to renal water loss. Ambient tonicity (effective osmolality) is the prominent signal for TonEBP in a bidirectional manner; TonEBP activity decreases in hypotonicity, whereas it increases in hypertonicity. Here we found that TonEBP displayed nuclear export in response to hypotonicity and nuclear import in response to hypertonicity. The nuclear export of TonEBP was not mediated by the nuclear export receptor CRM1 or discrete nuclear export signal. In contrast, a dominant nuclear localization signal (NLS) was found in a small region of 16 amino acid residues. When short peptides containing the NLS were fused to constitutively cytoplasmic proteins, the fusion proteins displayed tonicity-dependent nucleocytoplasmic trafficking like TonEBP. Thus, tonicity-dependent activation of the NLS is crucial in the nucleocytoplasmic trafficking of TonEBP. The novel NLS is present only in the vertebrates, indicating that it developed late in evolution.</P>

Brassinosteroids (BRs) control virtually every aspect of plant growth and development. BRs act alone or with other exogenous and endogenous signals including auxin and light. To screen for the novel player involved in BR signaling in Arabidopsis, we employed cDNA overexpression strategy. We created a cDNA library to be expressed under the 35S overexpression promoter, and introduced into a weak brassinosteroid insensitive 1 (bri1) mutant. The mutant dubbed bri1-5 with long petiole (blp) was identified to display bigger stature especially in hypocotyl and petiole length relative to bri1-5. Sequence analysis of the rescued transgene revealed that blp consisted of a chimeric DNA consisting of a 3’ half of PHYB, 2 bp insertion, and a part of a chloroplast ribosomal RNA. Re-introduction of chimeric DNA into bri1-5 recapitulated blp phenotype. The blp phenotypes being similar to phyB mutants led us to examine both the PHYB transcript and protein levels in the blp 35Spro:PHYB doubly homozygous line. Lower levels of both transcripts and proteins of PHYB suggested that introduction of the chimeric gene interfered with the stability of PHYB transcripts. Our results highlight that overexpression mutagenesis facilitates functional genomics to decipher a function of Arabidopsis genome.

왕겨를 출발 원료로 하여 제올라이트 X/활성탄 복합체(제오카본)를 합성하였으며, 합성된 복합체와 제올라이트 13X애 대한 H_2O의 흡착 특성을 비교 하였다. 실천을 통해 얻어진 흡착 등온선에 Langmuir-Freundlict, Muilt-BET 및 Excess suface Work (ESW) 모델을 적용 시켰다. 결과에서 알수 있듯이, 제오카본의 경우에는 Langmuir-Freundlich 모델을 적용했을 경우에는 313.15 K (1.39%), Multi-BET 모델의 경우에는 313.15 K (2.29%), ESW 모델 적응시는 353.15 K (0.47%) 온도에서 가장 작은 오차를 보여주었다. 제올라이트 13X외 경우에는 Langmuir-Freundlich 모델을 적용했을 경우에는 353.15 K (0.10%), Multi-BET 모델의 경우에는 313.15 K (0.65%), ESW 모델 적용시는 353.15 K (0.68%) 온도에서 가장 작은 오차를 보여주었다. 특히, ESW 모델은 Langmuir-Freuntdlich Mulit-BET model에 비해서 저압영역에서는 단분자충 흡착과 고압 영역에서는 capillary condensation 현상 등이 고려된 결과, 모든 온도와 압력 범위에서 잘 적용되었다. Zeolite X/activated carbon composite (zeocarbon) was synthesized from rice hulls. The adsorption equilibrium of H_2O on zeocarbon was compared with that of zeolite 13X, Langmuir-Freundlich, Excess Surface Work (ESW) and Multi-BET isotherm models were used to fit the experimental data of H_2O adsorption on zeocarbon and zeolite 13X. In the case of zeocarbon, the minimum error of 1.39% resulted when the Langmuir-Freundlich model was applied at 313.15 K. In the cases of Multi-BET and ESW models, the minimum errors were 2.29% and 0.47% at 131.15 K and 353.15 K, respectively. In the case of zeolite 13X, the minimum error was 0.10% at 0.68%, at 313.15 K and 353.15 K, respectively. ESW model was found to be in better agreement with the experimental values than Langmuir-Freundlich model or Multi-BET model. Considering that monolayer adsorption occurs in low-pressure region, while the capillary condensation phenomenon prevails in high-pressure region, ESW model fitted well under all the temperature and pressure conditions.
