A Simplified Broadband Output Matching Technique for CMOS stacked Power Amplifiers

<P>This paper describes the design method of a broadband CMOS stacked power amplifier using harmonic control over wide bandwidths in a 0.11 mu m standard CMOS process. The high-efficiency can be obtained over wide bandwidths by designing a load impedance circuit as purely reactive as possible to the harmonics with broadband fundamental matching, which is based on continuous Class-F mode of operation. Furthermore, the stacked topology overcomes the low breakdown voltage limit of CMOS transistor and increases output impedance. With a 5-V supply and a fixed matching circuitry, the suggested power amplifier (PA) achieves a saturated output power of over 26.7 dBm and a drain efficiency of over 38% from 1.6 GHz to 2.2 GHz. In W-CDMA modulation signal measurements, the PA generates linear power and power added efficiency of over 23.5 dBm and 33% (@ACLR = 33 dBc).</P>
Online multi-person tracking with two-stage data association and online appearance model learning

<P>This study addresses the automatic multi-person tracking problem in complex scenes from a single, static, uncalibrated camera. In contrast with offline tracking approaches, a novel online multi-person tracking method is proposed based on a sequential tracking-by-detection framework, which can be applied to real-time applications. A two-stage data association is first developed to handle the drifting targets stemming from occlusions and people's abrupt motion changes. Subsequently, a novel online appearance learning is developed by using the incremental/ decremental support vector machine with an adaptive training sample collection strategy to ensure reliable data association and rapid learning. Experimental results show the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method while demonstrating its compatibility with real-time applications.</P>

국방, 항공, 조선, 철도, 자동차 산업에서 임베디드 시스템에서의 활용도가 높아지고 있다. 특히 국방 임베디드 시스템은 다른 분야에 비해 고신뢰성과 고성능이 동시에 요구된다. 안전필수 인증 절차를 준수하면 설계 및 개발 단계에서 발생할 수 있는 다양한 결함을 예방할 수 있다. 그러나 soft error와 같은 예측 불가능한 transient 결함을 대처하기 어렵다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 고장감내 방법론과 검증방법에 대한 연구가 수행되어야 한다. 본 논문은 고장감내 기법 검증 방법론에 하나인 결함주입 기법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 결함주입 기법은 1) 정량적 평가 가능, 2) 시스템을 대상으로 검증 가능 같은 장점이 있다.

The electrostatic field induced EHD (electro-hydro-dynamic) inkjet printing technology which is based on EHD jet theory is very attractive process for replacing conventional inkjet printing technology. A microdripping mode and pulsed-jet mode are the best characteristic ejection mode for drop-on-demand jetting and high resolution in electrostatic field induced EHD inkjet head system. The electrical conductivity of ink is very important factor to show pulsed-jet mode. Many conductive inks are bad ejection characteristics, but some inks which has specific electrical conductivity region has good ejection characteristics. The electrostatic field induced EHD inkjet head system with pulsed-jet ejection will be good industrial inkjet printing system by manufacturing the conductive ink which has in specific electrical conductivity region.
Key Frame Extraction Based on Chaos Theory and Color Information for Video Summarization

<P>Key frame based video summarization has emerged as an important task for efficient video data management. This paper proposes a novel technique for key frame extraction based on chaos theory and color information. By applying chaos theory, a large content change between frames becomes more chaos-like and results in a more complex fractal trajectory in phase space. By exploiting the fractality measured in the phase space between frames, it is possible to evaluate inter-frame content changes invariant to effects of fades and illumination change. In addition to this measure, the color histogram-based measure is also used to complement the chaos-based measure which is sensitive to changes of camera / object motion. By comparing the last key frame with the current frame based on the proposed frame difference measure combining these two complementary measures, the key frames are robustly selected even under presence of video fades, changes of illumination, and camera/object motion. The experimental results demonstrate its effectiveness with significant improvement over the conventional method.</P>
