Ocjective : Sabaeksan has been used for the purpose of prevention and treatment of bronchial asthma and allergic asthma in korea. Methods : To investigate the biological effect of Sabaeksan, the author examined cytotoxicity and inflammatory cytokines secretion with human leukemic mast cell line, HMC-1. HMC-1 was stimulated with phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) and calcium ionophore A23187. Sabaeksan by itself had no effect on viability of HMC-1. Result : The effects of Sabaeksan on the secretion of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin (IL)-6 from HMC-1 were evaluated with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Sabaeksan (1 mg/㎖) inhibited PMA plus A23187-stimulated TNF-α and IL-6 secretion, by 43.86 ± 5.26%, 56.39 ± 3.65%, respectively. Sabaeksan also inhibited the NF-κB (p50/p65) expression. Conclusion : Taken together, these results suggest that Sabaeksan inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines in HMC-1 cells through blockade of NF-κB activation.

In this paper, a typical drilled shaft to cylindrical and step-tapered pile, pulse pile are produced by the experiment and then captured the ground, forming Jumunjin standard sand model tests loading at sat joy bearing capacity analysis, tapered plus pulse pile was suggestions. Soft ground and the ground around the sandy soil casting of pile to skin friction research tapered pile adjusting the angle and shape for a wide range of variation of pulse pile further study is underway, and the most graft-type model is not presented. Therefore, in this study, the test bearing capacity of existing drilled shaft current analysis by the comparative analysis, as well as skin friction through mutual tapered plus pulse pile bering capacity and allow the unit to analyze and compare the suggestions model would be effective.

Electric stimulation (ES) is known to affect cell migration, proliferation, inflammation regulation, and physiological activities. However, there exist strong attenuation of electric field (EF) when conventional ES pass through tissue, and need of direct contact of target tissue and electrode has been magnified. In order to overcome these limitations, we have designed and fabricated precise ES device (MCS system), which can support with precise current density and adjustable frequency. Then we applied to degenerative disc disease (DDD) model in vitro. We showed that inflamed annulus fibrosus (AF) cells, which mimicked DDD model, express inflamatory cytokines such as interleukin (IL)-6, and –8 as contrasted with normal AF cells. But inflamed AF cells stimulated with ES and showed decrease in inflammatory cytokines. These results suggests that ES can be a therapeutic tool for inflammatory modulation and MCS is expected to be applied in many cell types and foster diverse applications of ES study fields.

BACKGROUND: This study focused on the contents offlavonoid compounds in vegetables. Generally vegetableshave contributed to a healthy diet, arisen from contains alarge amount of fiber and functional ingredients. Andflavonoid compounds are one of major functionalcomponents in the vegetables. currently research offlavonoid contents does not enough, specially in the part ofhomegrown vegetable. METHODS AND RESULTS: Vegetable samples werepurchased in domestic market. Sample extraction bymethanol, distilled water, and formic acid based solvent. Also same solvent used for mobile phase in UPLC. Eleventypes of flavonoid compounds were analyzed with samekind of external standard and one kind of internal standard(galangin) for quantification. Standard calibration curvepresented linearity with the correlation coefficient R2 >0.98, analysed from 1 to 50 ppm concentration. Thequantitative value and multivariate analysis results werederived from the Excel and SIMCA-P11. Overall, onion has largest amount(916.5 ㎎/100 g) offlavonoid and also other vegetables have has significantamount[Mugwort: 138.8, Galic stem:123.6 ㎎/100 g etc.]of flavonoid compounds. Edible portion of vegetables pershare for simulating by SIMCA-P11, root vegetables hashad difference with other vegetables according todistributions and amounts of flavonoid compounds. CONCLUSION: Optionally, the results from thisexperiment can use to select the material for flavonoidresearches. And based on these results, if this experimentwill be continuously complemented, and performed, couldused in various fields.

Coastal marine ecosystem plays important role of spawning and nursery grounds for fisheries resources. Yongil Bay is one of major coastal marine ecosystems, which is located in the southwestern East Sea of Korea. Species composition and abundance of marine organism in the Yongil Bay were investigated by season from March to November 2009. Gill net and pot fisheries were used for survey of pelagic and demersal species composition, and collected 106 species, 67 families, and 7 taxa of fisheries resources from the coastal ecosystem. Species were included 2 species in Ascidiacea, 2 species in Bivalvia, 6 in Cephalopoda, 22 in Crustacea, 5 in Echinodermata, 12 in Gastropoda, and 57 in Pisces. Diversity indices (Shannon index, H`) showed seasonal variation with low value of 2.11 in winter, and high value of 2.63 in autumn. Main dominant species were Asterias amurensis, Pleuronectes yokohamae, Siphonalia spadicea fuscolineata, Trachurus japonicas, Sillago japonica, Conger myriaster, Volutharpa ampullaceal, Engraulis japonicus, Asterina pectinifera, and Portunus (Portunus) sanguinolentus that were occupied over 71.5% of total individuals, and 52.9% of wet weight. Seasonal variations of fisheries resources composition were discussed on correlationships with those of environmental factors in the coastal ecosystem of the Yongil Bay in Korea. Those results from this study will provide scientific data and information to develop the ecosystem-based coastal fisheries assessment and management system in Korea.
