The correlation between plantar pressure and low back pain evaluation by digital foot scanner

The pathology of low back pain (LBP) is anatomically and functionally related with the postural balance. Thus, it is surmised that foot plantar pressure is important in such balance. In this study, we investigated the correlation between plantar pressure and LBP. A total 125 college students (50 male students and 75 female students, aged from 20 to 29) participated in this study. Based on pain scale, groups were divided into two: control group (n=27) and LBP group (n=98). The foot plantar pressures were measured by two examiners. For measurements of the left foot, intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC 3,1) was0.75,and ICC3,1 for the right was0.75. The Pearson coefficient between the pain scale and the index values of plantar foot pressure was 0.469 (p<0.000). In the present study, the reliability of two examiners using AssociateⓇ Platinum V7+ Digital foot scanner was fairly good. The significant correlation was found between pain scale and index values of plantar foot pressure. These results suggested that the measurement of plantar pressure using AssociateⓇ Platinum V7+ Digital foot scanner might be a helpful method for examining LBP.

The purposes of this study were to measure the index values of plantar foot pressure applied on both legs in standing position and to explore if there was correlation with low back pain, and further to examine the reliability of digital feet scanning devices. A total 125 college students(50 male students and 75 female students, aged from 20 to 29) participated this study. The foot plantar pressures were measured by AssociateⓇ Platinum V7+ Digital foot scanner. The reliability of AssociateⓇ Platinum V7+ Digital foot scanner was measured by two inspectors. Index values of plantar foot pressure measured at standing position were higher in the low back pain group then the normal population. Hereupon, it has been confirmed that back ache influenced on the plantar foot pressure. There was also a correlation between low back pain and foot pressure(r = 0.93, p < 0.01). There was also correlation between foot pressure and pain in standing position(r = 0.47, p < 0.01). In addition, according to the result of reliability on the AssociateⓇ Platinum V7+ Digital foot scanner, measured SEM was 3.22 on both groups along with MAD of 1.98±0.14 on each group as well. In addition, two groups had the same ICC3,1 as 0.75. In addition, it has been identified that there was a high reliability on the AssociateⓇ Platinum V7+Digital foot scanner by examining variables other than ICC3,1. This study showed a higher plantar in standing position under imbalanced condition. Therefore, it suggests maintaining a proper posture and precaution with exercise through education in a daily life. In addition, the results and methodology of this study could be served as a criteria used for measuring and evaluating postural imbalance of college students.

In digital information based society, the internet accelerates the stream of information and creates new methods as a means of digital communication. Development of digital media is changing existing life patterns, which affects individuals and societies depending on who gets good information faster. Such information is remembered in various forms. For instance, it is seen by eyes, touched, felt by mouths, smelled by noses, and stored in minds. Especially, more than 80% of all information gained from outside is recognized by visual senses, which indicates that vision plays the most important role in this regard. Therefore, visual design plays the important part in effectively delivering a lot of information, which is the very goal of design, and thus principles and elements regarding design are applied to stimulate visual senses. Among such elements, color is vital in recognizing and sensing things. Color affects a lot not only design factors but also emotions and feelings of human, which shows the influence is over all general aspects of life. Thus, design utilizing such visual principles of color is made use of as a means of communication as well as esthetic effects. Color brings a great influence on the formation of identity. Especially, main pages and sub pages with same colors in the space called a `web` bring about the sense of harmony, efficient information expression, and formation of identity. This study comparatively investigates the top ten sites among portal sites in Korea regarding how color contributes to the formation of color and recognition. As a result, it turned out that the top three portal sites play a better role in forming identities by means of color than the 5th and lower sites. Besides, the designs were regarded as improving reliability and satisfaction. Color is one of the design factors stimulating visual senses. Among a number of design factors, color plays a crucial role in forming identity, and an effective communication tool to improve the efficiency of information expression. Therefore, under the premise of supposition that claims a design element of color has significant effect in acknowledging object, the purpose of this study is to prove that color greatly contributes in forming identity by examining current top ten portal sites.

미디어 매체인 인터넷은 우리의 생활 패턴을 변화시켰을 뿐만 아니라 사회와 경제, 기존의 유지되었던 여러 환경에 큰 영향을 주고 있다. 시간적, 공간적 제약이 없는 인터넷은 클릭 한번으로 앉아서 쇼핑을 즐기고, 정보를 교환하고, 가상 속에 자신의 공간을 만들면서 많은 시간을 할애하게 한다. 편리하고 시간이 적게 들면서도 많은 정보를 얻으며, 쌍방향 소통을 가능하게 한 인터넷은 끊임없는 발전과 성장을 연장하고 있다. 프랑스의 사회학자 자크 아탈리(Jacques Attali)는 21세기는 노마드(유목민)의 시대라고 하였다. 그들은 휴대폰과 노트북, 디지털 카메라 그리고 첨단 장비만 있으면 어디든지 떠나가는 사람들을 말한다. 앞으로 모든 기관과 사업장이 인터넷으로의 영역 확장을 시도할 것으로 보기 때문에 21세기는 노마드의 시대, 인터넷의 시대라고 말하고 있다. 엄청난 파급 효과를 가지고 있는 인터넷에서 무엇보다 중요한 것은 광고이다. 인터넷 광고는 커뮤니케이션 주체간의 시간과 거리 등 공간적 제약을 받지 않고 소비자의 정보수집, 구매활동으로 연결되기 때문에 그 효과와 비중은 갈수록 커질 것이다. 본 논문은 다양한 인터넷 광고 중 푸쉬형에 속하는 위젯광고의 소비자 선호도를 조사하고 요인들을 분석하여 소비자가 원하는 광고 형태를 제안하고자 하였다. 위젯 광고는 컴퓨터 바탕 화면이나 개인 웹 페이지에 띄워 두는 작은 창 형태의 프로그램을 말하는데 다운로드의 횟수로 정확한 선호도 조사를 할 수 있다. 연구 범위는 우리 나라에서 가장 먼저 위젯광고를 시작한 야후yahoo의 포털 사이트 위젯을 기준으로 조사하였고, 1위부터 20위까지의 광고 형태를 분류하고 시각적 분석을 하였다. 인터넷은 다른 어떠한 미디어 매체보다 빠른 성장을 하였고, 전통적 미디어에 비해 투입한 비용 대비 효과와 효율성이 높으며, 다양한 목적을 위해 활용될 수 있다. 인터넷은 앞으로도 계속 발전하고 성장해 갈 것이며, 이에 따라 광고 유형도 계속 발전할 것으로 본다. 특히 시각적 영역에 비중을 차지하고 있는 인터넷 인터페이스에서 효율적인 인터넷 광고를 구현하기 위해서는 보다 체계적이고 효율적인 디자인 전략이 필요할 것으로 본다. The internet, a media medium, not only changes living patterns but it also greatly influences various environments which have been maintained, such as society and the economy. The internet, unlimited in time and space, spares time by allowing shopping to be done with a click, information to be exchanged, and by allowing one to make their own illusory space. The internet is convenient and saves time yet it allows a lot of information to be gained and the internet, which makes interactive communication possible, is continuing to develop and grow. The French sociologist Jacques Attali said that the 21st century is the Age of the Nomad. Nomads refer to people who can go anywhere if they simply have the latest equipment such as a cellular phone, laptop, and digital camera. Because it seems that all organizations and businesses will try to expand to the internet, the 21st century is being referred to as the Age of the Nomad, or the Age of the Internet. The most important thing on the internet, with its great influential effect, is advertisements. Internet advertisements, unlimited by space such as in time and distance between communicating subjects, connects to consumer information gathering and consumption so its effects and gravity will continue to increase. This essay aims at presenting an advertisement form which consumers desire by surveying the preferences of widget advertisement consumers and analyzing factors. Widget advertisements refer to programs in the form of small windows placed on the computer main screen or on personal web pages and preferences can accurately be surveyed through the number of downloads. Study extent were put into progress mainly through widgets on the portal site Yahoo and advertisement forms were divided into advertisement forms which ranked in the top ten and advertisement forms which ranked from twenty to thirty and differences were displayed through visual analysis. The internet has grown faster than other media mediums and its effect and usefulness exceeds costs and it can be applied to various purposes. The internet will continue to grow and develop and following this, advertisement forms will continue to develop. To materialize effective internet advertisements on the internet interface, which holds much weight in the visual field, design strategies which are more systematic and effective seem to be necessary.
