        Synthesis, properties, calculations and applications of small molecular host materials containing oxadiazole units with different nitrogen and oxygen atom orientations for solution-processable blue phosphorescent OLEDs

        A series of new small molecules based on symmetric electron-acceptor of 1,3,4-oxadiazole moiety or its asymmetric isomerof 1,2,4-oxadiazole unit were successfully synthesized and applied to solution-processable blue phosphorescent organic lightemittingdiodes for the first time, and their thermal, photophysical, electrochemical properties and density functional theorycalculations were studied thoroughly. Due to the high triplet energy levels (ET, 2.82–2.85 eV), the energy from phosphorescentemitter of iridium(III) bis[(4,6-difluorophenyl)-pyridinate-N,C2′]picolinate (FIrpic) transfer to the host molecules couldbe effectively suppressed and thus assuring the emission of devices was all from FIrpic. In comparison with the para-modeconjugation in substitution of five-membered 1,3,4-oxadiazole in 134OXD, the meta-linkages of 1,2,4-isomer appending withtwo phenyl rings cause the worse conjugation degree and the electron delocalization as well as the lower electron-withdrawingability for the other 1,2,4-oxadiazole-based materials. Noting that the solution-processed device based on 134OXD containing1,3,4-oxadiazole units without extra vacuum thermal-deposited hole/exciton-blocking layer and electron-transportinglayer showed the highest maximum current efficiency (CEmax) of 8.75 cd/A due to the excellent charge transporting ability of134OXD, which far surpassed the similar devices based on other host materials containing 1,2,4-oxadiazole units. Moreover,the device based on 134OXD presented small efficiency roll-off with current efficiency (CE) of 6.26 cd/A at high brightnessup to 100 cd/m2. This work demonstrates different nitrogen and oxygen atom orientations of the oxadiazole-based hostmaterials produce major impact on the optoelectronic characteristics of the solution-processable devices.

      • Status and Determinants of Health Literacy among Adolescents in Guangdong, China

        Background: Previous studies for non-communicable disease cotrol, including cancer, have mostly relied on health literacy in adults. However, limited studies are available for adolescents. This study aimed to assess the status and determinants of health literacy in in-school adolescents in Guangdong, China. Materials and Methods: A total of 3,821 students aged 13-25 years were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling. After the questionnaire of health literacy was answered, the total scores for health knowledge (18 questions), skills (5 questions) and behaviors (14 questions) were determined. The total scores for health literacy and each subscale were recoded into adequate and inadequate subgroups, and logistic regression models were used to identify factors associated with each outcome variable. Results: The prevalence of adequate health literacy was 14.4%, and the prevalences for adequate knowledge, skills and behavior were 22.4%, 64.7% and 6.6%, respectively. Students coming from prestigious schools and having parents with higher education had higher odds of having adequate knowledge, skills and behaviors. Female students had higher odds of having adequate knowledge and behaviors. Students in grade 7-8 had higher odds of having adequate knowledge and skills. The health knowledge was positive associated with health skills (odds ratio [OR] =2.1, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.7-2.5) and behaviors (OR=3.0, 95%CI 2.3-4.0), and health skills were positive associated with health behaviors (OR=2.6, 95%CI 1.8-3.8). Conclusions: Further efforts should be made to increase adolescents' health knowledge and behaviors, especially for low grade and male students in non-prestigious schools.

        Antioxidant Action of a Chrysanthemum morifolium Extract Protects Rat Brain Against Ischemia and Reperfusion Injury

        The present study evaluated the potential neuroprotective effect and underlying mechanism of the total flavones extracted from Chrysanthemum morifolium (TFCM) against ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. An animal model of cerebral ischemia was established by occluding the right middle cerebral artery for 90 minutes followed by reperfusion for 22 hours. The neurobehavioral scores, infarct area, and hemispheric edema were evaluated. The superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, malondialdehyde (MDA) content, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) level in brain were also measured. The results showed that pretreatment with TFCM significantly decreased the neurological deficit scores, percentage of infarction, and brain edema and attenuated the decrease in SOD activity, the elevation of MDA content, and the generation of ROS. In isolated brain mitochondria, Ca2+-induced swelling was attenuated by pretreatment with TFCM, and this effect was antagonized by atractyloside. These results showed that pretreatment with TFCM provides significant protection against cerebral I/R injury in rats by, at least in part, its antioxidant action and consequent inhibition of mitochondrial swelling.

        李白 賦 初探

        As “The poetic genius(詩仙)”, Li Bai(李白)’s poems are widely read by later generations. Lots of scholars analyzed and appreciated his poems in detail. Under the shadow of his shining poems, neither his works of fu(賦) draw too much attention nor been researched. However, if we would like to study about Li Bai comprehensively, we should understand Li Bai not only as a poet, but also as a writer of fu. Only can we interpret Li Bai’s fu accurately, could we understand Li Bai as a writer of fu. Wang Qi, who is a scholar in Qing dynasty, collected Li Bai’s eight pieces of fu in 《Li Taibai Wenji(李太白文集)》of volume 1, including 〈Da peng fu(大鵬賦)〉, 〈Ni hen fu(擬恨賦)〉, 〈Xi yu chun fu(惜餘春賦)〉, 〈Chou yang cun fu(愁陽春賦)〉, 〈Bei qing qiu fu(悲清秋賦)〉, 〈Jian ge fu(劍閣賦)〉, 〈Ming tang fu(明堂賦)〉, 〈Da lie fu(大獵賦)〉. Those works are divided into Changpian Dafu(长篇大赋) and Shuqing Xiaofu(抒情小赋) two parts in form, and included irony, nostalgia and other aspects in content. This article starts the research of those works of fu through effects of the former dynasties’ works of fu, motivations of creation and features of illustration three parts, and got conclusions as below. Firstly, there is a trace of imitating other writes fu in Li Bai’s work since he got effected from their works, but Li Bai also has his own unique opinions on fu. In another words, Li Bai’s fu not only inherited the tradition of fu, but also presented some innovations. Secondly, Li Bai created fu sometimes for showing his aspirations, sometimes for pursuing fame and fortune, and sometimes for expressing his emotions. Thirdly, In Li Bai’s fu, he used different illustrating skills, including exaggeration, mixture of emotions and scenes, quoting lots of allusion and so on. Even though all of those are the resulting of initial researches, it presented that Li Bai has his own unique artistic style. There are important meanings of knowing the content mentioned above for understanding Li Bai’s whole life and studying his literati thoughts and work’s features. The author hopes this article could play a role of appealing other creative and important ideas, expecting there are more and more people focus on Li Bai’s works of fu and conducting further research.

        Research on the Impact of the Integration of Two Styles of Icon Design and Task Characteristic on UI Visual Search Performance

        From the perspective of icon search paradigm, this study analyzes the impact of skeuomorphism style and flat style design on icon visual search performance. In this study,Using the eye movement experiment method, Obtain the relevant data of the icon’s cognitive performance and perform relevant analysis. The purpose is to explore the advantages and disadvantages of visual search performance under the mechanism of controlling factor variables. The research results and content are as follows. In the task characteristics, the search performance of the two types of style icons(color) in the form of the target template picture is higher than that of the text form, Under the condition of delay time. the search performance of the two types of style icons (color) under the shorter delay time are both higher than the longer delay time. When the icon is (gray and color), there is a significant difference in search performance between the skeuomorphism style and the flat style icon. Based on these research results, it is recommended that in interface design, from the perspective of search efficiency, skeuomorphism style and flat style icons are equally important in adoption and design.

        Multi-point displacement monitoring of bridges using a vision-based approach

        To overcome the drawbacks of the traditional contact-type sensor for structural displacement measurement, the vision-based technology with the aid of the digital image processing algorithm has received increasing concerns from the community of structural health monitoring (SHM). The advanced vision-based system has been widely used to measure the structural displacement of civil engineering structures due to its overwhelming merits of non-contact, long-distance, and high-resolution. However, seldom currently-available vision-based systems are capable of realizing the synchronous structural displacement measurement for multiple points on the investigated structure. In this paper, the method for vision-based multi-point structural displacement measurement is presented. A series of moving loading experiments on a scale arch bridge model are carried out to validate the accuracy and reliability of the vision-based system for multi-point structural displacement measurement. The structural displacements of five points on the bridge deck are measured by the vision-based system and compared with those obtained by the linear variable differential transformer (LVDT). The comparative study demonstrates that the vision-based system is deemed to be an effective and reliable means for multi-point structural displacement measurement.

      • Study on Tribo-chemistry Properties of Some Additives on Base Oils of Friendly Environmentally Lubricants

        The tribolugical characteristic of several environmentally friendly lubricating base stocks was examined, and the effect of some commonly used additives on the tribological behavior of the lubricating oils was comparatively investigated on a four-ball machine. It has been found that the commercial additives including butene sulfide, wax chloride, zinc dialkyldithiophosphate and ashless P-N type agent helped to improve the friction-reducing and antiwear properties as well as the extreme pressure behavior. Non-toxic nanoscale (CF)x showed the best friction-reducing ability, though it registered relatively poor extreme pressure properties. The mechanism on friction of nano-scale material is discussed.

        A High-efficiency Trim Method for CFD Numerical Calculation of Helicopter Rotors

        In order to resolve the trimming difficulty in rotor CFD calculations, a high-efficiency and improved "delta trim method" is established to compute the blade control settings that are necessary to identify the blade motion. In this method, a simplified model which combines the blade element theory and different inflow models is employed to calculate the control settings according to the target aerodynamic forces, then it is coupled into a CFD solver with unsteady Navier-Stokes equations by the delta methodology, which makes the control settings and aerodynamics calculated and updated in the meantime at every trim cycle. Different from the previous work, the current research combines the inflow model based on prescribed wake theory. Using the method established, the control settings and aerodynamic characteristics of Helishape 7A, AH-1G and Caradonna-Tung rotors are calculated. The influence of different inflow models on trimming calculations is analyzed and the computational efficiency of the current "delta trim method" is compared with that of the "CFD-based trim method". Furthermore, for the sake of improving the calculation efficiency, a novel acceleration factor method is introduced to accelerate the trimming process. From the numerical cases, it is demonstrated that the current "delta trim method" has higher computational efficiency than "CFD-based trim method" in both hover and forward flight, and up to 70% of the amount of calculation can be saved by current "delta trim method" which turns out to be satisfactory for engineering applications. In addition, the proposed acceleration factor shows a good ability to accelerate the trim procedure, and the prescribed wake inflow model is always of better stability than other simple inflow models whether the acceleration factor is utilized in trimming calculations.
