Energy Harvesting Protocol for Optimal Throughput in WLAN
Tan-Phuoc Huynh,Dinh-Thuan Do,Hoang-Sy Nguyen,Thanh-Dai Nguyen 대한전자공학회 2015 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2015 No.6
In this paper, the time power switching based relaying (TPSR) protocol is proposed for energy harvesting (EH) enabled mobile node in WLAN. Specifically, we investigate how the time and power factors in EH protocol at relay mobile node affects on outage probability and throughput performance. Specifically, we develop outage and throughput performance characterizations in term of time and power factors in the proposed scheme. The tightness of our proposed protocol is determined through simulation results. We confirm that the optimal throughput is critically dependent on time switching and power splitting factor of the TPSR protocol.

5-Hydroxymethyl-2-furfural (HMF) and its derivatives are among the promising biomass-derived platform chemicals, which have the potential to become carbon-neutral feedstock or building blocks in a green, renewable and sustainable industry. However, the current methods for HMF production from D-Fructose have several drawbacks such as the use high boiling solvents and difficulties in product purification. Comparing to HMF, 5-acetoxylmethyl-2-fufural (AMF) is considered to be more thermal stable and rather easier to isolate. In this research, rather than transforming D-Fructose into HMF in aprotic polar solvents such as DMSO, we are trying to synthesize AMF by direct dehydration of 1,6-Diacetyl-fructofuranose (DAF), a di-ester derivation of D-Fructose. This approach has the advantage of avoiding the difficulties related to HMF purification since AMF can be isolated from the reaction mixture by recrystallization or vacuum distillation.

Most agriculture plantings are based on traditional farming and demand a lot of human work processes. In order to improve the efficiency as well as the productivity of their farms, modern agricultural technology was proven to be better than traditional practices. Internet of Things (IoT) is usually related in modern agriculture which provides the farmer with a real-time monitoring condition of their farm from anywhere and anytime. Therefore, the application of IoT with a sensor to measure and monitors the humidity and the temperature in the mushroom farm that can overcome this problem. This paper proposes an IoT based monitoring system forindoor Ganoderma lucidum cultivation at a minimal cost in terms of hardware resources and practicality. The results show that the data of temperature and humidity are changing depending on the weather and the preliminary experimental results demonstrated that all parameters of the system were optimized and successful to achieve the objective. In addition, the analysis results show that the quality of Ganoderma lucidum produced on the research method conforms to regulations in Vietnam.

Recycling biomass to cellulose aerogel (Cell-A) provides a promising approach to develop adsorbent materials for spilled-oil recovery. In this work, Cell-A was fabricated from Vietnamese water hyacinth via crosslinking methods using PVA as a crosslinker and freeze-drying process. Various cellulose to PVA ratios were investigated to obtain the optimal synthesis condition. The Cell-A was additionally modified by dip-coating in poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) and pyrolyzing to form PDMS-coated cellulose aerogels (Cell-AP) and carbon aerogels (CA), respectively. Results of the oil adsorption tests show that pyrolysis produced aerogels with greater adsorption capacity with an optimal mass ratio of 15 : 1 cellulose to PVA. Furthermore, the pseudo-second-order model was found to be more accurate than the pseudo-first-order model for the study of oil absorption kinetics. As a result, the modified cellulose aerogel is promising for replacing earth-unfriendly polymer-based oil sorbents due to their high oil absorption capacity.

Project scheduling is one of the most complex yet important issues in project-based planning. Scheduling is a topic that has entered the project from the production space and has been considered by many researchers in recent years. This problem has always faced many challenges due to its complex limitations in the real world. One of these issues is resource scheduling, known in optimization as the RCPSP problem. The study's main aim is to investigate the applica-tion of a forest optimization algorithm for resource constraint project scheduling. In this research, the RCPSP problem is optimized. A mathematical model is then proposed and then optimized using meteorological algorithms for forest optimization and refrigeration simulation. A hybrid meta-algorithm has also been developed for this document. Examination and comparisons of this algorithm show that the proposed method has the necessary efficiency both in terms of speed and quality of solutions.

In this study, a problem of scheduling shipping lines for a container supply chain is addressed in order to minimize the costs of charging ships and the cost of maintaining the inventory of empty containers in the port by considering the time window of the port and the amount of fuel. This is a hard-NP problem and cannot be solved on a large scale with precise methods in a logical time. Therefore, to solve and optimize the model, a meta-innovative algorithm, genetic algorithm, has been used. Also, to increase the effectiveness of the genetic algorithm, the parameters of the algorithm are adjusted using the Taguchi method. Finally, a number of problems have been solved to show the performance of this algorithm and its computational results have been compared with the results obtained from GAMS software.
