We search for lepton-flavor and lepton-number-violating τ decays into a lepton (@?= electron or muon) and two charged mesons (h,h'=π+/- or K+/-) using 854 fb-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We obtain 90% confidence level upper limits on the τ→@?hh' branching fractions in the range (2.0-8.4)x10-8. These results improve upon our previously published upper limits by factors of about 1.8 on average.
EFFECT OF TIME AFTER FEEDING ON DISTRIBUTION OF DIGESTA IN THE GASTRO-INTESTINAL TRACTS OF SHEEP
Sekine, J.,Oura, R.,Miyazaki, H.,Okamoto, M.,Asahida, Y. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 1991 Animal Bioscience Vol.4 No.1
To determine effect of time after feeding on distribution of digesta in the gastro-intestinal tracts of sheep given orchardgrass hay once a day, a total of fifteen ewes (mean live weight $51{\pm}12kg$) were slaughtered at 2, 8, 16 and 24 hours after feeding. Contents in the reticulo-rumen, omasum, abomasums, small intestine, cecum, and colon and rectum were totally collected and weighed. Weights of digesta in the reticulo-rumen were about 6 kg which contributed about 75% of the total in the whole tracts. Digesta on dry-matter basis totaled about 1 kg. The dry-matter concentration of digesta in the whole digestive tract was about 107 h/kg of fresh digesta. Distribution of moisture in the digestive tract changed in parallel with that of fresh digesta. There was no significant correlation observed between time after feeding and weights of digesta in the gastro-intestinal tracts. While, feed intake significantly correlated with digesta in the reticulo-rumen, cecum and whole tracts (p<0.01). Thus, time after feeding was inferred to have no influence upon the content of digesta in the digestive tract, but feed intake influenced on the content of digesta in the digestive tract at a low level of feeding.

Nano-sized ZrO2/Cr2O3/carbon clusters composite materials were successfully obtained by the microwave-irradiated calcinations of a Zr(acac)4/Cr(acac)3/epoxy resin complex. The compositions of the resulting composite materials were determined using ICP, elemental analysis and surface characterization by XRD, SEM and TEM. The UV–Vis spectra of the composites were also obtained. ESR spectral examinations of the composites indicate that an electron transfer takes place in the process Cr2O3 → carbon clusters → ZrO2. The composite materials have been found to show visible light-responsive catalytic activities. The effects of Ta and Sn contents on the martensitic transformation temperature, crystal structure and thermal stability of Ti-Ta-Sn alloys are investigated in order to develop novel high temperature shape memory alloys. The martensitic transformation temperature significantly decreases by aging or thermal cycling due to the formation of ω phase in the Ti-Ta binary alloys. The addition of Sn is effective for suppressing the formation of ω phase and improves stability of shape memory effect during thermal cycling. The amount of Sn content necessary for suppressing aging effect increases with decreasing Ta content. High martensitic transformation temperature with good thermal stability can be achieved by adjustment of the Ta and Sn contents. Furthermore, the addition of Sn as a substitute of Ta with keeping the transformation temperature same increases the transformation strain in the Ti-Ta-Sn alloys. A Ti-20Ta-3.5Sn alloy reveals stable shape memory effect with a martensitic transformation start temperature about 440K and a larger recovery strain when compared with a Ti-Ta binary alloy showing similar martensitic transformation temperature.

Amorphous Ti-36Ni-7Sn (at%) alloy ribbons prepared by melt spinning were annealed at various temperatures for crystallization and then microstructures and transformation behavior were investigated by means of electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. Crystallized Ti-36Ni-7Sn alloy ribbons consisted of Ti3Sn, Ti2Ni and TiNi phases. Size of Ti3Sn phase was in the range of 50-850nm depending on annealing temperature. Average size of TiNi phase increased from 25nm to 100nm with raising annealing temperature from 873K to 1073K. Volume fraction of Ti2Ni phase decreased by raising annealing temperature through decomposition reaction of 3Ti2Ni+Sn (solved in TiNi phase)→3TiNi+Ti3Sn and then Ti2Ni almost disappeared by annealing at 1173K. The TiNi phase in crystallized Ti-36Ni-7Sn alloy ribbons showed the B2-R-B19' transformation behavior. DSC peak temperature associated with the B2-R transformation (TR*) decreased from 303K to 292K with raising annealing temperature from 973K to 1173K, while DSC peak temperature associated with the R-B19' transformation (Ms*) increased from 187K to 237K with raising annealing temperature from 1073K to 1173K and thus the temperature gap between TR* and Ms* decreases from 112K to 55K.

The composition dependence of the mechanical properties and martensitic transformation behavior of Ti-Nb-4Zr-2Ta-N alloys is investigated. The effect of annealing temperature on the microstructural evolution and superelastic properties in the N-added and N-free alloys is compared. The addition of N decreases Ms of Ti-Nb-4Zr-2Ta alloys by about 200K per 1at.%N and improves the superelastic properties of Ti-Nb-4Zr-2Ta alloys. The dissolution of α phase increases the martensitic transformation start temperature and decreases the superelastic recovery strain for the N-free alloy, whereas it causes opposite effects for the N-added alloy. The different annealing temperature dependences of superelastic properties are discussed on the basis of microstructure observation.
Anomalous temperature dependence of the superelastic behavior of Ti-Nb-Mo alloys
Al-Zain, Y.,Kim, H.Y.,Koyano, T.,Hosoda, H.,Nam, T.H.,Miyazaki, S. Elsevier Science 2011 Acta materialia Vol.59 No.4
The effect of test temperature on the superelasticity of Ti-27Nb and various Ti-Nb-Mo alloys is investigated. A deviation in the stress at which martensitic transformation starts (σβ-α'') from the behavior expected from the Clausius-Clapeyron relationship is confirmed in all alloys. The degree of deviation is found to be in inverse proportion to the electron-to-atom ratio. However, no deviation is observed in the stress at which the reverse transformation finishes (σα''-β). All alloys exhibit anomalous electrical resistivity during cooling. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy investigations show that the volume fraction of the athermal ω (ωath) phase increases with a decrease in temperature. An in situ XRD experiment obtained during a loading-unloading cycle shows that the β and ωath phases transform into the α'' phase during loading. The annihilation of the ωath phase within the α'' phase allows σα''-β to obey the Clausius-Clapeyron relationship. As a result, a large hysteresis loop is produced.
