Arrays of size-dispersed ZnSe quantum dots as artificial antennas: Role of quasi-coherent regime and in-gap states of excitons for enhanced light harvesting and energy transfer

        Bondar Nikolai V.,Pyryatynsky Yu.P.,Matveevskaya N.A. 한국물리학회 2023 Current Applied Physics Vol.48 No.-

Densely packed thin films of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) shows specific the optoelectronic properties originate from the QDs coupling that may pave the way for new controllable building blocks for quantum technologies and light-harvesting complexes in natural photosynthetic systems and photovoltaic cells. In this work we were compared the optical properties and an excitonic energy transfer (EET) process in an aqueous solutions and dense packed films of ZnSe QDs with a narrow size distribution. An unexpectedly large nonlinear increase in the photoluminescence (PL) intensity was detected in QDs films with the decrease of an excitation energy that can be explained by resonantly transferred of EET through the quantum states. We found that with decreasing of the excitation energy form of quasi-coherent regime of excitons and the quantum and surface PL emission increases by a factor ~10 and ~6, respectively, due to increasing the EET rate.

ON THE HOMOGENEITY OF THE EXTINCTION LAW IN OUR GALAXY

Bondar, A.,Galazutdinov, G.,Patriarchi, P.,Krelowski, J. The Korean Astronomical Society 2006 Journal of The Korean Astronomical Society Vol.39 No.3

We analyze the extinction law towards several B1V stars-members of our Galaxy, searching for possible discrepancies from the galactic average extinction curve. Our photometric data allow to build extinction curves in a very broad range: from extreme UV till infrared. Two-colour diagrams, based on the collected photometric data from the ANS UV satellite, published UBV measurements and on the infrared 2MASS data of the selected stars, are constructed. Slopes of the fitted straight lines are used to build the average extinction curve and to search for discrepant objects. The selected stars have also been observed spectroscopically from the Terskol and ESO Observatories; these spectra allow to check their Sp/L's. The spectra of only about 30% of the initially selected objects resemble closely that of HD144470, considered as the standard of B1 V type. Other spectra either show some emission features or belong clearly to another spectral types. They are not used to build the extinction curve. Two-colour diagrams, constructed for the selected B1 V stars, showing no emission stellar features, prove that the interstellar extinction law is homogeneous in the Galaxy. Both the shape of the curve and the total-to-selective extinction ratio do not differ from the galactic average and the canonical value(3.1) respectively. The circumstellar emissions usually cause some discrepancies from the average interstellar extinction law; the discrepancies observed in the extraterrestrial ultraviolet, usually follow some misclassifications.

        CaFe interstellar clouds★

        Bondar, A.,Kozak, M.,Gnaciń,ski, P.,Galazutdinov, G. A.,Beletsky, Y.,Krełowski, J. Blackwell Publishing Ltd 2007 MONTHLY NOTICES- ROYAL ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY Vol.378 No.3

ABSTRACT

A new kind of interstellar cloud is proposed. These are rare (just a few examples among ∼300 lines of sight) objects with the Ca I 4227-Å, Fe I 3720-Å and 3860-Å lines stronger than those of K I (near 7699 Å) and Na I (near 3302 Å). We propose the name ‘CaFe’ for these clouds. Apparently they occupy different volumes from the well-known interstellar H I clouds where the K I and ultraviolet Na I lines are dominant features. In the CaFe clouds we have not found either detectable molecular features (CH, CN) or diffuse interstellar bands which, as commonly believed, are carried by some complex, organic molecules. We have found the CaFe clouds only along sightlines toward hot, luminous (and thus distant) objects with high rates of mass loss. In principle, the observed gas-phase interstellar abundances reflect the combined effects of the nucleosynthetic history of the material, the depletion of heavy elements into dust grains and the ionization state of these elements which may depend on irradiation by neighbouring stars.

Sulfate Resistance of Alkali Activated Pozzolans

        Dali Bondar,C. J. Lynsdale,N. B. Milestone,N. Hassani 한국콘크리트학회 2015 International Journal of Concrete Structures and M Vol.9 No.2

The consequence of sulfate attack on geopolymer concrete, made from an alkali activated natural pozzolan (AANP) has been studied in this paper. Changes in the compressive strength, expansion and capillary water absorption of specimens have been investigated combined with phases determination by means of X-ray diffraction. At the end of present investigation which was to evaluate the performance of natural alumina silica based geopolymer concrete in sodium and magnesium sulfate solution, the loss of compressive strength and percentage of expansion of AANP concrete was recorded up to 19.4 % and 0.074, respectively.

      • Application of Information Technologies for Lifelong Learning

Poplavskyi, Mykhailo,Bondar, Ihor International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2021 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.21 No.6

The relevance of the research involves outlining the need for modern professionals to acquire new competencies. In the conditions of rapid civilizational progress, in order to meet the requirements of the labor market in the knowledge society, there is a readiness for continuous training as an indicator of professional success. The purpose of the research is to identify the impact of various forms of application of information technologies for lifelong learning in order to provide the continuous self-development of each person without cultural or age restrictions and on the basis of rapid digital progress. A high level (96%) of need of the adult population in continuing education with the use of digital technologies has been established. The most effective ways to implement the concept of "lifelong learning" have been identified (educational camps, lifelong learning, mass open online courses, Makerspace activities, portfolio use, use of emoji, casual game, scientific research with iVR game, implementation of digital games, work in scientific cafes). 2 basic objectives of continuing professional education for adults have been outlined (continuous improvement of qualifications and obtaining new qualifications). The features of ICT application in adult education have been investigated by using the following methods, namely: flexibility in terms of easy access to ideas, solving various problems, orientation approach, functional learning, group or individual learning, integration of leisure, personal and professional activities, gamification. The advantages of application of information technologies for continuous education (economic, time, and adaptive) have been revealed. The concept of continuous adult learning in the context of digitalization has been concluded. The research provides a description of the structural principles of the concept of additional education; a system of information requests of the applicant, as well as basic technologies for lifelong learning. The research indicates the lack of comprehensive research in the relevant field. The practical significance of the research results lies in the possibility of using the obtained results for a wider acquaintance of the adult population with the importance of the application of lifelong learning for professional activities and the introduction of methods for its implementation in the educational policy of the state.

Energy Scan of thee+e−→hb(nP)π+π−(n=1, 2) Cross Sections and Evidence forϒ(11020)Decays into Charged Bottomoniumlike States

        Mizuk, R.,Bondar, A.,Adachi, I.,Aihara, H.,Asner, D. M.,Atmacan, H.,Aulchenko, V.,Aushev, T.,Ayad, R.,Badhrees, I.,Bakich, A. M.,Barberio, E.,Behera, P.,Bhardwaj, V.,Bhuyan, B.,Biswal, J.,Bobrov, A.,B American Physical Society 2016 Physical Review Letters Vol.117 No.14

Using data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider, we measure the energy dependence of the e(+)e(-) -> h(b)(nP)pi(+)pi(-) (n = 1, 2) cross sections from thresholds up to 11.02 GeV. We find clear gamma(10860) and gamma(11020) peaks with little or no continuum contribution. We study the resonant substructure of the gamma(11020) -> h(b)(nP)pi(+)pi(_) transitions and find evidence that they proceed entirely via the intermediate isovector states Z(b)(10610) and Z(b)(10650). The relative fraction of these states is loosely constrained by the current data: The hypothesis that only Z(b)(10610) is produced is excluded at the level of 3.3 standard deviations, while the hypothesis that only Z(b)(10650) is produced is not excluded at a significant level.
