Preparation of Si3N4-based antimicrobial coatings from suspensions with long-time stability

        Du Songmo,Zhang Jie,Sun Siyuan,Lifei Zhang,Chen Zhanglin,Zhang Shijia,Zhao Shuo,Tian Zhaobo,Ning Xiaoshan,Chen Kexin,Cui Wei,Liu Guanghua 한국세라믹학회 2024 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.61 No.3

A Si 3N4-based antimicrobial coating was fabricated from suspensions with long-time stability. The stability of Si 3N4 sus- pension and the antimicrobial performance of coating were investigated. The viscosity of Si 3N4 suspension was found to be the key factor aff ecting both stability and antimicrobial performance. The Si 3N4 suspensions were modifi ed with HASE acrylic copolymer, PAA-NH 4, and Polyurethane, resulting in an improvement of the stability of Si 3N4 suspension from a few hours to six months. The coating produced using the modifi ed Si 3N4 suspension exhibited an antibacterial activity of 99.9%. This study highlights the crucial role of modifying the Si 3N4 suspension in improving its long-term stability and coating antimicrobial activity.

Regulating the magnetic anisotropy by Hf thickness and heat treatment in Pt/Co/Hf films

        Li Minghua,Zhang Shijie,Wang Shuanghai,Li Yongzeng,Liu Lu,Chen Yu,Shi Hui,Yu Guanghua 한국물리학회 2022 Current Applied Physics Vol.34 No.-

Pt/Co/Hf multilayers were prepared by magnetron sputtering, and the magnetic anisotropy was effectively regulated by Hf thickness and heat treatment in Pt/Co/Hf films. The interface microstructures were characterized. The influence of the interface microstructure on magnetic properties was studied. The results show that the magnetic anisotropy in Pt/Co/Hf films is closely related to the interface microstructure, which is influenced by Hf thickness and the heat treatment temperature. Microstructure analysis shows that after the Pt(3)/Co(1.5)/Hf (1) film is heat-treated, the CoOx content increases, more CoPt(111) forms, the interface is smoother and sharper, and the roughness of the Co/Hf interface decreases. Several factors work together to cause the magnetic anisotropy of the sample to change from in-plane magnetic anisotropy (IMA)to perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA).

Cornin increases angiogenesis and improves functional recovery after stroke via the Ang1/Tie2 axis and the Wnt/b-catenin pathway

        Yangyang Xu,Guanghua Zhang,Zechun Kang,Yong Xu,Wangling Jiang,Shuping Zhang 대한약학회 2016 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.39 No.1

We investigated whether cornin, an iridoid glycoside isolated from fruits of Verbena officinalis L., regulated angiogenesis and thereby improved functional outcomes after stroke and discovered a potential mechanism. The effects of cornin on proliferation of rat artery smooth muscle cell (RASMC) and signalling was investigated in vitro. Adult male rats were subjected to 1 h of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) and reperfusion and treated with or without 25 mg/kg of cornin, starting 24 h after ischemia and reperfusion, by continuous intravenous injection daily for 14 days. Neurological functional tests were performed and cerebral Evans blue extravasation was measured. Angiogenesis and angiogenic factor expressions were measured by immunohistochemistry and Western blotting, respectively. Cornin increased the proliferation of RASMC and enhanced the expression of Wnt5a, b-catenin, cyclin D1 and angiopoietin-1 (Ang1). Cornin treatment promoted angiogenesis in the ischemic brain core and improved functional outcomes after stroke. Cornin-treated MCAO rats showed significant increase in vascularization and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and Ang1 and phosphorylation of Tie2 and Akt compared with vehicle-treated MCAO rats. The Ang1/ Tie2 axis and Wnt/b-catenin pathways appear to mediate cornin-induced angiogenesis.

Multiple down-regulated cytochrome P450 monooxygenase genes contributed to synergistic interaction between chlorpyrifos and imidacloprid against Nilaparvata lugens

        Lu Xue,Guanghua Luo,Yang Sun,Shuijin Huang,De-Jin Xu,Guang-Chun Xu,Zhao-Jun Han,Zhong-Yan Gu,Ya-Nan Zhang 한국응용곤충학회 2020 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.23 No.1

Insecticide mixtures are an effective strategy in pest resistance management. The synergistic chlorpyrifos and imidacloprid mixture could significantly increase toxicity against rice pest, Nilaparvata lugens, despite their high levels of resistance. However, synergism mechanisms to explain this phenomenon remain unknown. Chlorpyrifos and imidacloprid at a 1:0.5 ratio showed significant synergism on N. lugens with a combination index value of 0.18 after topical exposure. We constructed a genetic database of the genes expressed in individual and synergistic chlorpyrifos and imidacloprid treatments of N. lugens using Illumina Hiseq™ X Ten, and 17 co-downregulated genes putatively involved in synergism were detected by comparative transcriptome analyses. Expression patterns of the 17 candidate synergistic genes matched with transcriptome sequencing data by quantitative real-time PCR analyses. Feeding of dsRNAs further reduced the expression levels of 10 of these candidate synergistic genes (from 1.68 to 4.13-fold). Nymphs fed with only dsRNAs of CYP4DE1, CYP6AY1v2, CYP353D1, and CYP439A1 experienced more high mortality rates (81.45–90.34%) to improve synergism between chlorpyrifos and imidacloprid. Multiple reductive expressed P450 genes were potentially associated with synergism of a mixture of chlorpyrifos and imidacloprid, as confirmed by comparative transcriptome analyses and RNAi assays. Our findings suggested that synergistic interactions between chlorpyrifos and imidacloprid might be controlled by P450s.

Comparative Analysis of Coreless Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator for Wind Power Generation

        Zhu Jun,Li Guanghua,Cao Di,Zhang Zhenyi,Li Shuaihui 대한전기학회 2020 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.15 No.2

A 90° Halbach permanent magnet array coreless axial fux permanent magnet synchronous generator for wind power generation is compared with a conventional axial fux permanent magnet generator with cut cake type permanent magnet. 2D analytic model of generator is established. The air gap magnetic felds of two generators are analyzed by analytical method, and the air gap magnetic density and harmonic content are analyzed. Then the infuence of diferent parameters on voltage total harmonic distortion is analyzed by changing the pole arc coefcient, air gap length, permanent magnet thickness and number of turns. Two prototypes of generators are manufactured, and the correctness of the simulation results is verifed by experiments.

De novo genome assembly and annotation of Holothuria scabra (Jaeger, 1833) from nanopore sequencing reads

        Luo Honglin,Huang Guanghua,Li Jianbin,Yang Qiong,Zhu Jiajie,Zhang Bin,Feng Pengfei,Zhang Yongde,Yang Xueming 한국유전학회 2022 Genes & Genomics Vol.44 No.12

Background: Holothuria scabra is a costly gourmet and traditional Chinese tonic medicine. However, the lack of high-quality genome information hinders the genetic, phylogenetic, and bioactivator researches. Objective: To construct high-quality genomic data of H. scabra and conduct genome-wide phylogenetic analysis. Methods: The whole genome of a male H. scabra was sequenced based on Nanopore MinION platform, and the sequence was assembled by wtdbg2. Transcriptome sequencing was used to aid the gene annotation. Repeat sequences, non-coding RNA, pseudogene and gene functional annotation were analyzed. 750 single-copy gene families from ten species were applied to construct phylogenetic tree for evolutionary analysis by using the ML method. Results: The H. scabra genome of 1.18 Gb (N50 = 1557,492 bp) with 500.42 Mb of putative repetitive sequences was assembled from a male H. scabra individual, and 16,642 protein-coding genes, 951 pseudogenes, 1791 motifs and 45,400 domains from the generated assembly were identified. The divergence time between H. scabra and its ancestor was estimated approximately 192.6 million years ago. H. scabra and A. japonicas joined together while sea urchin and sea star diverged about 440 Mya ago. Some key genes involved in notochord and gill slits development, skeleton degeneration and nervous system, as well as homeobox genes differ between H. scabra and Apostichopus japonicas. Conclusion: We report the first whole genome of H. scabra with expectation that this will be a valuable resource for genetic, phylogenetic, breading, molecular biology and bioactivator studies of sea cucumbers and other invertebrates.

      • Chaotic phenomena in the organic solar cell under the impact of small particles

Jing Pan,Zhe Jia,Guanghua Zhang 국제구조공학회 2023 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.46 No.1

Organic solar cells utilized natural polymers to convert solar energy to electricity. The demands for green energy production and less disposal of toxic materials make them one of the interesting candidates for replacing conventional solar cells. However, the different aspects of their properties including mechanical strength and stability are not well recognized. Therefore, in the present study, we aim to explore the chaotic responses of these organic solar cells. In doing so, a specific type of organic solar cell constructed from layers of material with different thicknesses is considered to obtain vibrational and chaotic responses under different boundaries and initial conditions. A square plate structure is examined with first-order shear deformation theory to acquire the displacement field in the laminated structure. The bounding between different layers is considered to be perfect with no sliding and separation. On the other hand, nonlocal elasticity theory is engaged in incorporating the structural effects of the organic material into calculations. Hamilton’s principle is adopted to obtain governing equations with regard to boundary conditions and mechanical loadings. The extracted equations of motion were solved using the perturbation method and differential quadrature approach. The results demonstrated the significant effect of relative glass layer thickness on the chaotic behavior of the structure with higher relative thickness leading to less chaotic responses. Moreover, a comprehensive parameter study is presented to examine the effects of nonlocality and relative thicknesses on the natural frequency of square organic solar cell structure.

Comparative analysis of bovine maternal corpus luteum microRNAs with aberrant and normal developed cloned fetus at late gestation

        Xiaohu Su,Shenyuan Wang,Guangqi Gao,Xinyu Zho,Lidong Han,Guanghua Su,Jiaqi Zhang,Wanfu Bai,Xiuying Wang,Guangpeng Li,Li Zhang 한국유전학회 2020 Genes & Genomics Vol.42 No.3

Background The development efficiency of cloned cattle is extremely low (< 5%), most of them were aborted at late gestation. Based on our previous studies, some recipient cows with a cloned fetus would present as engorged uterine vessels and enlarged umbilical vessels randomly. Abortion involves both maternal and fetal factors. Objective Our aim was to explore this phenomenon by microRNAs expression profile analysis of maternal corpus luteum (CL), which was related to pregnancy maintenance. Methods The present study provided the comparison of maternal CL miRNAs expression of abnormally and normally developed cloned bovine fetus at late gestation (~ 210 days) using RNA-Seq technology. Results We selected two abnormally pregnant cows (abnormal group, AG) and three normally pregnant cows (normal group, NG) and acquired valid reads of 9317,261–12,327,185 (~ 84.53–91.28%) from five libraries. In total, we identified 981 conserved miRNAs and 223 novel miRNAs. 1052 miRNAs were co-expressed, 124 miRNAs were uniquely expressed in AG, and 93 miRNAs were uniquely expressed in the NG. Compared with NG, 11 were significantly overexpressed, and 22 were downregulated (p < 0.05) at AG among 1052 co-expressed miRNAs. The differentially expressed miRNAs-targeted genes were further analyzed by Gene Ontology and KEGG pathway analysis. Notably, the steroid biosynthesis pathway was a significantly enriched term (p < 0.01), which may affect the secretion of progesterone. Conclusion Our research suggested that abnormal miRNAs expression of bovine maternal CL may affect the pregnant status at late gestation.
