The paper proposes the method to deal with control problems of unmodeled components of the fourwheeled Omni-directional mobile robot. It is commonly challenging to design a model-based control scheme to achieve smooth movement in the tracking process due to the unknown elements in the mathematical model of the robot or external disturbances. Our main contribution focuses on designing an adaptive controller based on neural networks with online weight updating laws and Fuzzy logic to guarantee the high accuracy of the robot’s movement when the unknown factors adversely affect the robot control. At the initial step, a Dynamic Surface Control plays a role as a core of the controller for the robot system. Then, with the ability to estimate the appropriate value for uncertain nonlinear parts, a Radial Basis Function Neural Network is designed. Finally, a Fuzzy law is to utilize control parameters in each period to increase the adaptive behavior of the system. The stability and convergence of the system are proven by the Lyapunov’s stability theory. The simulation results illustrate the validity and the efficiency of the proposed control algorithm when the system is lack of robot model’s information.
The Relationship between Information Distribution and Intention to Choose a University

Purpose: Research on the intention to choose a university has an important role for universities in enrollment. The information element is considered essential to help students have specific information before making their decisions. However, how to distribute this information appropriately is an issue that needs to be studied. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate the influence of information distribution on intention to choose a university. Research design, data, and methodology: The study showed a survey on 259 samples from first-year students at public universities in Vietnam. PLS-SEM model was performed to find out the relationship between information distribution and intention to choose a university. Result: The results show that information quality and information helpfulness positively impact on attitudes towards universities. Attitude towards university has a positive effect on the intention to choose a university. Conclusion: From the results of this study, the authors also make some recommendations to help universities have good communication policies to improve their ability to attract students to choose a university. Quality and helpful information will help universities to be able to attract students more effectively to enroll based on an effective communication strategy.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Ethnopharmacological relevance</B></P> <P>As documented in a Vietnamese traditional medical encyclopedia, <I>Syzygium formosum</I> (Wall.) Masam leaves have been routinely used among indigenous Vietnamese people for treatment of various allergy-like symptoms including dermatitis and rhinitis.</P> <P><B>Aim of the study</B></P> <P>Anti-allergic activity of <I>S. formosum</I> leaves was examined with a mouse model of chicken ovalbumin (cOVA)-induced food allergy, and mechanisms underlying the anti-allergic effect were explored.</P> <P><B>Material and methods</B></P> <P>BALB/c mice were administered i.p. cOVA (20μg) plus alum (2mg) twice on day 0 and 14 for sensitization (immunization). Two weeks after the second immunization, the mice were administered cOVA (50mg) p.o. 5 times every 3 days to induce food allergy symptoms (i.e., anaphylaxis, diarrhea, and drop in the body temperature). Ethanol extract of dried leaves of <I>S. formosum</I> (80mg/kg or 200mg/kg body weight) was administered p.o. daily during the induction (challenge) period.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>Treatment with the <I>S. formosum</I> leaves ethanol extract ameliorated the allergic symptoms to a significant extent and in a dose-dependent manner. The treatment also resulted in a significant improvement in the inflammatory lesion in the small intestine and reduction in the numbers of mast cells and eosinophils recruited to the lesion. The treatment also brought about a significant reduction in the levels of Th2 cytokines produced by the mesenteric lymph node cells cultured ex vivo with cOVA. The passive anaphylaxis experiment also showed that the extract treatment impaired the mast cell function.</P> <P><B>Conclusion</B></P> <P>Our study provides a scientific basis for the traditional (indigenous) use of the <I>S. formosum</I> leaves extract for the treatment of various allergy symptoms in Vietnam. In addition, the results show that the extract has activities to suppress antigen-specific Th2 T cell immune responses and the mast cell function, which are directly related with its anti-allergic effect.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
Comparison of phenolics compounds between healthy and viroid-infected grapes in Korea

Grapes are widely consumed fruits in Korea. It has been used for the products such as raisins, wine, juice, vinegar and sweet spreads. However, grapes are subject to viroid infection, causing malformed berries and reducing fruit quality and yield. In this study, effect of Grapevine yellow speckle viroid 1 (GYSVd1) on the phenolics in grape skin of three different cultivars including ‘Campbell Early’, ‘Kyoho’, and ‘Shine muscat’ were investigated by liquid chromatography method. Nineteen phenolic compounds in grape skin of three cultivars were detected using HPLC-PDA-MS/MS. Maximum wavelength of anthocyanins were determined at 520 nm while the others were quantified at 350 nm. The separation was achieved by using a mobile phase containing 10% formic acid in water (A) and 10% formic acid in acetonitrile (B) with a gradient elution (Tmin/B: T0/7; T20/20; T45/30; T60/60) at a flow rate of 0.7 mL/min. As a result, considerable decreases of anthocyanins in ‘Campbell’ and ‘Kyoho’ cultivars were observed in viroid infection group (p<0.05). Additionally, content of flavonols in viroid samples of all three cultivars increased signifacantly (p<0.05) and there were no significant change in phenolic acid content. Because of the viroid infection, flavonols seems to be more synthesized, which could act as the ‘antibody’ of grapes. However, reduction of anthocyanins will lead to low quality of the berries as well as products made from viroid-infected grapes.

Despite advances in technology, crushing accidents still occur during emergency evacuations of crowded public spaces. To prevent crushing accidents, it is necessary to understand the flow of pedestrians during evacuation scenarios through experiments. Since experiments with humans can generate real accidents, we performed experiments on rodents to approximate human behavior. To trigger an emergency evacuation response, we applied electrical stimulation to the feet of the rodents. Although electrical stimulation has been applied to mice in many experiments, studies on the intensity and pattern of electric stimulation required to evoke a rapid evacuation response in mice is still lacking. In this study, we experimentally investigated how the evacuation flow of mice changes according to the amplitude, event, and duration of electric stimulation.
