Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), a non-invasive neuromodulation technique, has been increasingly used to treat bipolar depression. Researchers recently noticed the risk of tDCS-emergent mania/hypomania in depressed patients and started to evaluate this risk by launching a meta-analysis. Here we present a female with bipolar II depression who rapidly developed hypomanic switching during bifrontal tDCS.
Anti-fatigue activity of dripped spent hens chicken essence in ICR mice

Objective: Chicken essence and branched chain amino acid (BCAA) supplementation has been recognized to significantly relieve fatigue. To obtain chicken essence with high amounts of BCAA, spent hens herein was used to prepare dripped chicken essence (SCE) and compared with commercial dripped chicken essence (CCE) for in vivo anti-fatigue effect. Methods: To determine the effect on anti-fatigue by dripped chicken essence, the exhaustive swimming was performed. Thirty-two 7-week ICR mice were divided into four groups, which included the control group (CG), CCE, SCE-1X and SCE-2X. The mice were given daily oral administration (0.012 mL/g body weight/d). The fatigue index analysis was conducted weekly. Results: The results showed that SCE had a higher BCAA level as expected, and mice treated with dripped chicken essence (CCE and SCE) could significantly improve exercise performance. The lower blood lactate level, blood urea nitrogen level and creatine phosphokinase activity were found in the supplement of SCE group compared with the CCE group, which suggested that the SCE possessed strong anti-fatigue ability. This could possibly be due to the higher content of BCAA. Conclusion: In this study, SCE promoted recovery from physical fatigue in mice and elevated endurance ability. Among them, the double dose (SCE-2X) showed the strongest antifatigue ability. Taken together, spent chickens could be a good source of chicken essence to improve the effect of anti-fatigue.
Application of BIM on Drawing Verification of Firefighting

In general, most of the function and using of building is for single purpose. However, current buildings combine several functions that causes a lot of problems not on firefighting only but also on environment engineering. Because of hard integration on different fields that causes a lot of conflict. That wastes cost and time. That also threaten the safety of firefighting. This search focuses on the drawing verification and field inspection on firefighting. These two items both remain paper work. To complete the current work, it needs to bring a great amount of drawing papers in the field. By BIM, integrated data can be extracted. It makes the drawing verification and field inspection easier and increases the efficiency. That is the main point of this research.

This paper concerns with the problem of asymptotic stability for neutral systems with time-varying delays. With the introduction of delay-decomposition approach, some new delay-dependent stability criteria are established and formulated in the form of linear matrix inequalities. Both constant time delays and time-varying delays have been taken into account. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and less conservativeness of the proposed methods.
Relationship between the FRAX® score and falls in community-dwelling middle-aged and elderly people

Objectives: Falls is a risk factor for fracture. The FRAX® predicts fractures. Whether the FRAX® is associated with fall in both gender is inconclusive. The aim of our study is to evaluate the association between FRAX scores and falls. Methods: The cross-sectional study set from 2009 to 2010 included 1200 community-dwelling people who were systematically sampled in central Taiwan. The 1200 participants (men: 524; women: 676; ?40 years old) completed questionnaires about socioeconomic status; lifestyle; medical and fall history were completed. FRAX scores with and without bone mineral density (BMD) were calculated by using the Taiwan calculator. Results: A total of 19.8% participants fell down. Binary regression models showed that diabetes mellitus history (OR: 1.61; 95% CI: 1.03e2.52), the FRAX without BMD in a continuous major score (OR: 1.06; 95% CI: 1.03e1.09), continuous hip score (OR: 1.11; 95% CI: 1.05e1.16), categorical major score ? 10% (OR: 1.81; 95% CI: 1.25e2.61), and categorical hip score ? 3% (OR: 1.80; 95% CI: 1.30e2.50) were independent risk factors for falls. FRAX with BMD in a continuous major score (OR: 1.04; 95% CI: 1.02e1.06), continuous hip score (OR: 1.06; 95% CI: 1.02e1.09), categorical major score ? 10% (OR: 1.52; 95% CI: 1.09e2.12), and categorical hip score ? 3% (OR: 1.53; 95% CI: 1.13e2.09) were also independent risk factors. Conclusions: We concluded that FRAX® scores with and without BMD were unanimously correlated with falls in community-dwelling middleaged and elderly males and females.
Development of Phalaenopsis Flowering Quality Prediction Models

Phalaenopsis is an important exported flower in Taiwan and its flowering quality was reported to be correlated to its leaves’ carbohydrate contents and external traits. Phalaenopsis Sogo Yukidian 'V3' was used as the experimental samples in this research. A hand-held spectrometer and a hyperspectral system were used to build the carbohydrate content prediction models (CC model) respectively first, and then combined with leaves’ external traits obtained from hyperspectral imaging to build the flowering quality prediction model (FQ model). The advantage and application of FQ models built by both devices were compared. The results showed that the CC models built with MPLSR for glucose, fructose, sucrose, total soluble sugar, starch and total carbohydrates by hyperspectral system were all better than those by hand-held spectrometer. The results of FQ models with PLSDA and SVM also showed that the performance of hyperspectral system to discriminate quality levels was better. As for the ANN models’ results to predict the total number of flowers, the errors using both devices were all lower than 0.87. The research proved that using spectral technique to predict the interior contents in Phalaenopsis leaves or flowering quality were both feasible. Although the performance of hyperspectral imaging system is better than that of hand-held spectrometer, it was expensive and not as convenient as hand-held spectrometer. We can adopt some other ways such as using multispectral imaging system or optimize the performance of hand-held spectrometer if we want to apply the results to the Phalaenopsis industry.
SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF TITANIA NANOTUBES FOR DYE WASTEWATER TREATMENT

This paper starts with the preparation of anatase titania nanotube (TN) in large quantities by hydrothermal routes with different calcination temperatures, and then delves into a thorough investigation for the characterization of fine structures or formation mechanism of TN. Experimentally, anatase TiO2 nanoparticle was used as a precursor for TN synthesis. The results showed that the length and diameter of TN range are 50–100 nm and 10–15 nm, respectively. The XRD patterns and BET isotherms indicated that TN owns anatase-typed structures with a surface area of 292m2/g. By extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectra, the valency and framework of TN are Ti(IV) with octahedral structures. The EXAFS data also revealed that TN has a first shell of Ti–O bonding with bond distances of 1.95 Å and coordination numbers were 2. The results revealed that the TiO2 anatase nanoparticles can be solved into layer under strong alkaline. The layer of TN further curling itself to reduce the energetics was postulated and found. For calcination temperature larger than 400°C, the microstructure of TN might transform from nanotube into nanoparticles accompanying with the sharp increase for the nanoparticle crystalline phase. With the understanding of pore structure variation on the basic dye (Basic Green 5 (BG5)), the adsorption ability, mechanisms, and kinetics of (Basic Green 5 (BG5)) dye onto TN were examined as well.
