Highly transparent Pt ohmic contact to InGaN / GaN blue light - emitting diodes
Huh, Chul,Kim, Hyun-Soo,Kim, Sang-Woo,Lee, Ji-Myon,Kim, Dong-Joon,Kim, Hyun-Min,Park, Seong-Ju The Korean Vacuum Society 2000 Journal of Korean Vacuum Science & Technology Vol.4 No.3
We reprot on the fabrication and characterization of InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well light-emitting diode (LED) with a highly transparent Pt ohmic contact as a current spreading layer. The value of light transmittance of a Pt thin film with a thickness of 8 nm on-GaN was measured to be 85% at 450 nm. The peak wavelength and the full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) of the emission spectrum of the LED at 20 mA were 453 nm and 23 nm, respectively. Pt-contacted LEDs show good electrical properties and high light-output efficiency compared to Ni/Au-contacted ones. These results suggest that a Pt thin film can be used as an effective current spreading layer with high light-transparency.

The light output power and wall‐plug efficiency of the Si nanocrystal (nc‐Si) light‐emitting diode (LED) were significantly enhanced by employing the multiple‐luminescent structures. This improvement was attributed to a strong confinement of carriers in the SiNx luminescent layers containing the nc‐Si due to the band offset between the luminescent layer and barrier layer.

Pseudolymphoma Induced by Ear Piercing
Huh, Chang Hun,Park, Je Young,Won, Chong Hyun,Eun, Hee Chul,Moon, Sang Eun 대한피부과학회 2004 Annals of Dermatology Vol.16 No.1
We present a patient who developed a pseudolymphoma after ear piercing. A patch test showed gold sensitivity. Therefore, long standing dermal exposure to gold from a pierced-type earring might have produced the patient's disease. This patient did not respond to an intralesional steroid injection and was finally treated with a complete resection of the lesion. It is proposed that every patient with a hyperplastic lesion in the ear lobe should be taken a biopsy in order to rule out the possibility of a pseudolymphoma. When a pseudolymphoma develops in the ear lobe, a complete surgical excision could be the treatment of choice, especially for the prevention of recurrence.
Development of 3D statistical mandible models for cephalometric measurements
Sung-Goo Kim,Won-Jin Yi,Soon-Jung Hwang,Soon-Chul Choi,Sam-Sun Lee,Min-Suk Heo,Kyung-Hoe Huh,Tae-Il Kim,Helen Hong,Ji Hyun Yoo 대한구강악안면방사선학회 2012 Imaging Science in Dentistry Vol.42 No.3
Purpose: The aim of this study was to provide sex-matched three-dimensional (3D) statistical shape models of the mandible, which would provide cephalometric parameters for 3D treatment planning and cephalometric measurements in orthognathic surgery. Materials and Methods: The subjects used to create the 3D shape models of the mandible included 23 males and 23 females. The mandibles were segmented semi-automatically from 3D facial CT images. Each individual mandible shape was reconstructed as a 3D surface model, which was parameterized to establish correspondence between different individual surfaces. The principal component analysis (PCA) applied to all mandible shapes produced a mean model and characteristic models of variation. The cephalometric parameters were measured directly from the mean models to evaluate the 3D shape models. The means of the measured parameters were compared with those from other conventional studies. The male and female 3D statistical mean models were developed from 23 individual mandibles, respectively. Results: The male and female characteristic shapes of variation produced by PCA showed a large variability included in the individual mandibles. The cephalometric measurements from the developed models were very close to those from some conventional studies. Conclusion: We described the construction of 3D mandibular shape models and presented the application of the 3D mandibular template in cephalometric measurements. Optimal reference models determined from variations produced by PCA could be used for craniofacial patients with various types of skeletal shape.
