MFCC의 단구간 시간 평균을 이용한 음성/음악 판별 파라미터 성능 향상

Discrimination between speech and music is important in many multimedia applications. In our previous work, focusing on the spectral change characteristics of speech and music, we presented a method using the mean of minimum cepstral distances (MMCD), and it showed a very high discrimination performance. In this paper, to further improve the performance, we propose to employ time-averaged MFCC in computing the MMCD. Our experimental results show that the proposed method enhances the discrimination between speech and music. Moreover, the proposed method overcomes the weakness of the conventional MMCD method whose performance is relatively sensitive to the choice of the frame interval to compute the MMCD.

The quality of narrowband speech can be enhanced by the bandwidth extension technology. This paper proposes a mixed excitation and an energy compensation method based on Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM). First, we employ the mixed excitation model having both periodic and aperiodic characteristics in frequency domain. We use a filter bank to extract the periodicity features from the filtered signals and model them based on GMM to estimate the mixed excitation. Second, we separate the acoustic space into the voiced and unvoiced parts of speech to compensate for the energy difference between narrowband speech and reconstructed highband, or lowband speech, more accurately. Objective and subjective evaluations show that the quality of wideband speech reconstructed by the proposed method is superior to that by the conventional bandwidth extension method.
Eigenvoice 기반 화자가중치 거리측정 방식을 이용한 화자 분할 시스템

화자 분할 기술은 오디오 데이터로부터 자동적으로 화자 경계 구간을 검출하는 것이다. 화자 분할 방식은 화자에 대한 선행 지식 사용 여부에 따라 거리기반 방식과 모델기반 방식으로 나누어진다. 본 논문에서는 eigenvoice 기반의 화자가중치 거리를 이용한 화자 분할 방식을 도입하고, 이 방식을 대표적인 거리 기반 방식들과 비교한다. 또한, 화자가중치의 거리 측정 함수로 유클리드 거리와 cosine 유사도를 사용하여 화자 분할 성능을 비교하고, eigenvoice 방식에 의해 화자 적응된 모델들 사이의 직접적인 거리를 이용한 화자 분할 방식과의 비교를 통해 화자가중치 거리를 이용한 방식이 계산량면에서 효율적인 점을 검증한다. Speaker segmentation is a process of automatically detecting the speaker boundary points in the audio data. Speaker segmentation methods are divided into two categories depending on whether they use a prior knowledge or not: One is the model-based segmentation and the other is the metric-based segmentation. In this paper, we introduce the eigenvoice-based speaker weight distance method and compare it with the representative metric-based methods. Also, we employ and compare the Euclidean and cosine similarity functions to calculate the distance between speaker weight vectors. And we verify that the speaker weight distance method is computationally very efficient compared with the method directly using the distance between the speaker adapted models constructed by the eigenvoice technique.

Discrimination between speech and music is important in many multimedia applications. Previously we proposed a new parameter for speech/music discrimination, the mean of minimum cepstral distances (MMCD), and it outperformed the conventional parameters. One weakness of MMCD is that its performance depends on range of candidate frames to compute the minimum cepstral distance, which requires the optimal selection of the range experimentally. In this paper, to alleviate the problem, we propose a multi-dimensional MMCD parameter which consists of multiple MMCDS with combination of different candidate frame ranges. Experimental results show that the multi-dimensional MMCD parameter yields an error rate reduction of 22.5% compared with the optimally chosen one-dimensional MMCD parameter.

The goal of this research is to improve the quality of reconstructed speech in the Distributed Speech Recognition (DSR) system. For the extended DSR, we estimate the variable Maximum Voiced Frequency (MVF) from Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) based on Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), to implement realistic harmonic plus noise model for the excitation signal. For the standard DSR, we also make the voiced/unvoiced decision from MFCC based on GMM because the pitch information is not available in that case. The perceptual test reveals that speech reconstructed by the proposed method is preferred to the one by the conventional methods.

<P>The short device lifetime of blue polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) is still a bottleneck for commercialization of self-emissive full-color displays. Since the cathode in the device has a dominant influence on the device lifetime, a systematic design of the cathode structure is necessary. The operational lifetime of blue PLEDs can be greatly improved by introducing a three-layer (BaF<SUB>2</SUB>/Ca/Al) cathode compared with conventional two-layer cathodes (BaF<SUB>2</SUB>/Al and Ba/Al). Therefore, the roles of the BaF<SUB>2</SUB> and Ca layers in terms of electron injection, luminous efficiency, and device lifetime are here investigated. For efficient electron injection, the BaF<SUB>2</SUB> layer should be deposited to the thickness of at least one monolayer (∼3 nm). However, it is found that the device lifetime does not show a strong relation with the electron injection or luminous efficiency. In order to prolong the device lifetime, sufficient reaction between BaF<SUB>2</SUB> and the overlying Ca layer should take place during the deposition where the thickness of each layer is around that of a monolayer.</P> <B>Graphic Abstract</B> <P>The operational lifetime of blue PLEDs can be greatly improved by designing a three-layer cathode (BaF<SUB>2</SUB>/Ca/Al) systematically. Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is rare but life-threatening severe cutaneous adverse reaction, which is mostly induced by drugs. It characterized by widespread epidermal necrosis, resulting in bullae with sloughing and frequent involvement of the mucous membrane. Due to high mortality, management of patients requires prompt withdrawal of the causative drug, appropriate supportive care, and consideration of immune-modulating agents, such as intravenous immunoglobulin or corticosteroids. Wilson disease is an inherited disorder of copper transport that results in excessive accumulation of copper in the body. Copper chelation with penicillamine is an effective first line therapy in most patients. We present a 20-year-old man with Wilson disease who developed TEN following administration of penicillamine. He was successfully treated with systemic corticosteroid, intravenous immunoglobulin, and supportive management.

Electromagnetic shielding door is the device that prevents the leakage of electromagnetic wave by maintaining the locked state of the shielding door which is only doorway of electromagnetic shielding property, it is a part that is the most harshly operated repeatedly among the shield door parts there. Faulty elements inhere potentially as the nature of the product structure, the risk of leakage of electromagnetic waves is high at the time of failure, the entire electromagnetic shielding facility can not be used in case of the leakage of the electromagnetic wave caused by mechanical defects. In order to solve these problems, the improvement plan has been derived using a test which reproduces the field failure of the locking device, the level of reliability has been quantitatively presented, a study on life prediction of the product has been conducted.

Discrimination between speech and music is important in many multimedia applications. In this paper, focusing on the spectral change characteristics of speech and music, we propose a new method of speech/music discrimination based on cepstral distance. Instead of using cepstral distance between the frames with fixed interval, the minimum of cepstral distances among neighbor frames is employed to increase discriminability between fast changing music and speech. And, to prevent misclassification of speech segments including short pause into music, short pause segments are excluded from computing cepstral distance. The experimental results show that proposed method yields the error rate reduction of$68\%$, in comparison with the conventional approach using cepstral distance.
