SIMPLE METHOD FOR RNA PREPARATION FROM CYANOBACTERIA<sup>1</sup>

<P>A simple and rapid method is presented for the preparation of RNA from various cyanobacteria. Unlike other methods that require a lysis solution, lysozymes, or proteinase K, the proposed method, called the bead–phenol–chloroform (BPC) method, uses silica/zirconia beads, phenol, and chloroform to break the cells and extract RNA more efficiently. Experiments confirm that the BPC method can successfully isolate total RNA from various cyanobacterial strains without DNA contamination, and the extracted RNA samples have a relatively high purity, concentration, and yield. Furthermore, the BPC method is more rapid, simple, and economical when compared with previously reported methods.</P>
선박 배가스내 SOX/NOX 처리용 습식 스크러버에 대한 연구

본 연구는 중·소형 선박의 배가스에 포함되어 있는 황산화물 및 질소산화물을 처리하기 위한 습식 스크러버의 처리효율에 관한 내용이다. 실험은 질소산화물 기술문서(NOX Technical Code)의 E3 모드에 준해서 진행하였다. 엔진에서 황산화물을 배출하기 위해서, 연료로 사용되는 경유에 ditertiarybutyldusulfide를 혼합하여 황 함유량을 높인 연료로 실험을 진행하였다. 배가스 내의 질소산화물의 대부분을 차지하는 NO가스는 NO2로 산화시켜 습식 스크러버로 흡수하였으며, 황산화물인 SO2는 세정액에 잘 흡수되어 100% 처리효율을 확인하였다. This study deals with de-SOX and de-NOX process of a wet scrubber for small size ship engines. The experiment was conducted according to the E3 mode of the NOX technical code. In order to discharge the sulfur containing flue gas, ditertiarybutyldusulfide was added to the diesel fuel to increase the sulfur content. NO gas, which occupies most of the nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas, was oxidized into NO2 and absorbed by a wet scrubber. The developed equipment of this work achieved 100% of removal efficiency for highly soluble SO2 gas in an aqueous solution.

<P>A novel barrier membrane composed of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) particles loaded with dexamethasone (DEX) as a bioactive molecule was produced via a modified nanoprecipitation method without any mixing. The particle membranes had a bilayer structure: one side was smooth and had a compact surface that was connected to larger particles, while the opposite side was rough, porous and connected to smaller particles. Additionally, a cross-section of the particle membrane had a porous structure with nano and micro sized irregular pores. Process optimization revealed that NaCl concentration in the water phase, with acetone as solvent and water as a non-solvent, played critical roles in determining the properties of the particle membranes, such as DEX encapsulation efficiency, thickness and surface morphologies of the particle membranes. A novel barrier membrane containing DEX using polymer particle drug capture technology has been successfully developed.</P>

The experiment was performed using the cleaning precipitator To investigate the absorption efficiency of the SOX/NOX of the aqueous ammonia solution. Concentration of the cleaning liquid is 0.1, 0.5, and 1.0% with increasing absorption efficiency has improved. However, the reaction shown only a difference in time. Absorption efficiency has improved in accordance with the gas residence time. When the direction of the same gas and the cleaning liquid is determined that there is the effect of increasing the residence time. The relative impact of SOX and NOX is this likely to react slower than SOX/NOX. The yield is determined to require adjustment of the cleaning dust collector according to the concentration of the next gas.

The experiment was performed for in order to remove NOx which is generated in the Ship s engine. it was performed test in order to remove NOx which is generated in the Ship s engine. It was used as the oxidizing agent sodium chlorite. Use the oxidizer is nitrogen monoxide was oxidized to nitrogen dioxide. and was tested pH adjustment to increase the efficiency of oxidizing. An aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide was used for the nitrogen dioxide absorbent. Low concentration of the solution, it showed a high efficiency. improves the absorption efficiency by add additives.
