        These days, serious concerns of reinforced concrete have been raised recently over steel-bar corrosion, cracking, the deterioration of durability and structural stress resistance and so on, all due to the effects of exterior factors. Such being the case, in domestic, various repair materials and method systems to keep up with these reinforced concrete deteriorated due to salt damage, carbonation, chemical decay et. developed and applied. However, on-site quality control of various repair materials and method systems isn't achieved desirably because it is depend completely on a men of experience' opinions above all else regardless of various on - site environments. In this background, mock up test with due regard to real on-site environments was performed to secure fundamental data for establishment of desirable on-site quality control. Mock up test using repair mortar analyzed from angles of construction methods, mechanical spraying pressures, W 1M. Construction methods were designed manpower method and spraying method, spraying pressures were designed 32, 42, 52 psi, W/M were designed 14.4, 15.4, 16.4 %. And compressive strength, Chloride ion diffusion coefficient, bond strength, SEM of mock up test specimens were evaluated. In conclusion, we confirmed excellency of mechanical spraying pressures, fined extremely excellency of condition of spraying pressure 42 ps, W/M 14.4% within this study. therefore the results of this study will be useful to provide fundamental data for establishment of desirable on-site quality control.

        신손상 진단에 있어 현미경적 혈뇨의 의의

        The evaluation of patients with microscopic hematuria after blunt abdominal trauma has become controversial. We tested the hypothesis that renal contusion can be diagnosed clinically and that these patients do not require radiographic evaluation. To evaluate the association of microscopic hematuria without shock and with renal injury, we reviewed the medical records of 252 patients following blunt abdominal trauma. Microscopic hematuria without shock was noted in 58 of 252 patients. Of the 58 patients 52 had renal contusion, 4 had renal laceration, 1 had a renal rupture and 1 had renal pedicle injury. All of the patients with renal contusions experienced no complications from nonoperative management. But, avoiding a radiopraphic evaluation in patients with blunt renal trauma plus microscopic hematuria and no shock would miss a few cases of severe renal injury.

      • Mechanism for the Change of Cytosolic Free Calcium Ion Concentration by Irradiation of Red Light in Oat Cells

        In our previous studies (Chae et al., 1990; Chae et a1., 1993), we found that a phytochrome signal was clearly connected with the change in cytosolic free $Ca^{2+}$ concentration ($[Ca^{2+}]_i$) in oat cells. It was determined that the $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ change occured both by mobilization out of the intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ store and by influx from the medium. The specific aim of this work is to elucidate the processes connecting $Ca^{2+}$ mobilization and influx. The cells treated with thapsigargin (increasing $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ by inhibition of the $Ca^{2+}$-ATPase in the calcium pool) in the presence of external $Ca^{2+}$ showed the same increasing pattern (sustained increasing shape) of $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ as that measured in animal cells. Red light irradiation after thapsigargin treatment did not increase $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ These results suggest that thapsigargin also acts specifically in the processes of mobilization and influx of $Ca^{2+}$ in oat cells. When the cells were treated with TEA ($K^+$ channel blocker), changes in $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ were drastically reduced in comparison with that measured in the absence of TEA. The results suggest that the change in $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ due to red light irradiation is somehow related with $K^+$ channel opening to change membrane potential. The membrane potential change due to $K^+$ influx might be the critical factor in opening a voltage-dependent calcium channel for $Ca^{2+}$ influx.

      • Determination of the Cytoplasmic Free-calcium-Ion Concentration Changes by Phytochrome Action in Oat cell Using Fluo-3/AM

        Calcium specific fluorescence probes such as Quin-2 and Fura-2 have been proved to have a few defects in determining cytosolic free $Ca^{2+}$ in cells (Hallett et al., 1990; Callaham et al., 1991; Steinberg et al., 1987; Kao et al., 1989; Minta et al., 1989; Zee et al., 1989). In this report, a new probe Fluo-3/AM was employed to determine cytosolic free $Ca^{2+}$ concentration in oat cells and it was identified not to be penetrated into the intracellular calcium store (vacuole). Phytochrome action in changing the cytosolic free$Ca^{2+}$ concentration in oat cell was investigated by irradiating red and far-red lights to isolated oat protoplasts. Red light irradiation (fluence rate : $320{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$) for 30 sec increased the cytosolic free $Ca^{2+}$ from 101 nM to 115 nM, but far-red light (fluence rate : $427{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$) did not. Photoreversibility of phytochrome in changing cytosolic $Ca^{2+}$ concentration was clearly observed. Mobilization of $Ca^{2+}$ from the intracellular calcium store to the cytoplasm by 5 min irradiation of red light was observed to be 6 nM under conditions that external $Ca^{2+}$ were removed by excess EGTA, and that calcium channels of the plasma membrane were blocked by their blockers (verapamil and lanthanum ion). These results imply that Pfr form of phytochrome functions in the process of influx of $Ca^{2+}$, but also in the mobilization process of $Ca^{2+}$ from its pool in the cell.

      • A Case of Small Bowel Adenocarcinoma in Patient Who Had Duodenojejunostomy

        Small bowel malignancies are very rare and account for 0.1-0.3% of all malignancies, and 0.35% in South Korea. Primary adenocarcinoma is the most common subtype makes up 35.8% of all small bowel malignancies. According to Korea central cancer registry, 535 new cases of small bowel malignancies occurred for 2010. The clinical presentation and diagnosis of small bowel adenocarcinoma are usually delayed because the disease is not amenable to endoscopic examination, and especially it located distal to duodenum. Furthermore, incidence rate of such patient with anatomical changes in bowel is yet unknown. We authors report a case of patient with small bowel adenocarcinoma who had previously duodenojejunostomy. A 78-year old female was admitted to our hospital suffering from sustained nausea and vomiting for 2 months. Her medical history included duodenojejunostomy as treatment for small bowel mass 20 years ago, appendectomy, hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus. She took abdomen computed tomography (CT) scan 7 months prior to admission, showed fatty liver and renal cysts only. Abdomen CT scan at admission, however, indicated jejunal mass with distended proximal bowel loops and metastatic lymphadenopathies (LAPs) on mesentery. Small bowel series revealed near complete obstruction of jejunum with apple core like mass and ulceration. We couldn’t examine esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) or capsule endoscopy since anatomical deterioration which noted in previous EGD, instead small bowel series was done for diagnosis. Mass was resided in proximal jejunum and metastatic LAPs were found in proximal mesentery intraoperatively. Small bowel segmental resection including jejunal mass with mesenteric lymph node dissection was done. Jejunal mass was diagnosed as moderate to poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma on pathology, and so as dissected lymph node. On postoperative 2 months, no recurrent malignancy is found in follow up abdomen CT scan. Her symptoms of nausea and vomiting also subsided and have good performance, either. Allude to this case, clinicians may take note of small bowel malignancy even with nonspecific symptoms if they persist or if patient had anatomical change in bowel.

        Parvatrema duboisi (Digenea: Gymnophallidae) Life Cycle Stages in Manila Clams, Ruditapes philippinarum, from Aphae-do (Island), Shinan-gun, Korea

        Life cycle stages, including daughter sporocysts, cercariae, and metacercariae, of Parvatrema duboisi (Dollfus, 1923) Bartoli, 1974 (Digenea: Gymnophallidae) have been found in the Manila clam Ruditapes philippinarum from Aphae-do (Island), Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, Korea. The daughter sporocysts were elongated sac-like and 307-570 (av. 395) μm long and 101-213 (av. 157) μm wide. Most of the daughter sporocysts contained 15-20 furcocercous cercariae each. The cercariae measured 112-146 (av. 134) μm in total length and 35-46 (av. 40) μm in width, with 69-92 (av. 85) μm long body and 39-54 (av. 49) μm long tail. The metacercariae were 210-250 (av. 231) μm in length and 170-195 (av. 185) μm in width, and characterized by having a large oral sucker, genital pore some distance anterior to the ventral sucker, no ventral pit, and 1 compact or slightly lobed vitellarium, strongly suggesting P. duboisi. The metacercariae were experimentally infected to ICR mice, and adults were recovered at day 7 post-infection. The adult flukes were morphologically similar to the metacercariae except in the presence of up to 20 eggs in the uterus. The daughter sporocysts and metacercariae were molecularly (ITS1-5.8S rDNA-ITS2) analyzed to confirm the species, and the results showed 99.8-99.9% identity with P. duboisi reported from Kyushu, Japan and Gochang, Korea. These results confirmed the presence of various life cycle stages of P. duboisi in the Manila clam, R. philippinarum, playing the role of the first as well as the second intermediate host, on Aphae-do (Island), Shinan-gun, Korea.
