In this work, synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activity of series of imidazolines-oxazolines scaffolds 5a-f and 10a-d have been investigated. All the imidazolines-oxazolines derivatives were prepared from acid derivatives 1 and 6a-c, and enantiomerically pure (S)-2-amino-3-methyl-1-butanol in four steps with excellent optical purity. The structures of all newly synthesized compounds have been elucidated by 1H, 13C NMR, GCMS, and IR spectrometry. Their purity was confirmed using elemental analysis. Some newly synthesized compounds were examined to in-vitro antimicrobial activity. Among the prepared products 10d was found to exhibits the most active against all tested bacteria and fungi with minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranged between 21.9 and 42.6 ㎍/mL.

The selective adsorption of proteins and macromolecules on activated matrix grafted with histidine has been shown to be dependent on certain separation parameters like, pH and buffer type. In the present study, the significant potential of the histidine ligand to separate bovine IgG from other bovine serum proteins has been demonstrated. The successful separation was carried out by pseudobioaffinty chromatography on histidine grafted-epoxy activated sepharose. The method was applied to sterile bovine serum. Bovine IgG was completely separated in the form of a single peak with 25 mM MES buffer containing 0.2 M NaCl at pH 5. The purity of the separated bovine IgG was determined by sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) under reducing conditions. Ouchterlony radial immunodiffusion (ODD)assay showed that bovine IgG was the main component present in the elution fraction.

Background: In the last decade, it has become clear that change of gene expression may alter the hematopoietic cell quiescent state and consequently play a major role in leukemogenesis. WT1 is known to be a player in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and FOXP3 has a crucial role in regulating the immune response. Objectives: To evaluate the impact of overexpression of WT1and FOXP3 genes on clinical course in adult and pediatric AML patients in Egypt. Patients and methods: Bone marrow and peripheral blood samples were obtained from 97 de novo non M3 AML patients (63 adult and 34 pediatric). Real-time quantitative PCR was used to detect overexpression WT1 and FOXP3 genes. Patient follow up ranged from 0.2 to 39.0 months with a median of 5 months. Results: In the pediatric group; WT1 was significantly expressed with a high total leukocyte count median 50X109/L (p=0.018). In the adult group, WT1 had an adverse impact on complete remission induction, disease-free survival and overall survival (p=0.02, p=0.035, p=0.019 respectively). FOXP3 overexpression was associated with FAB subtypes AML M0 +M1 vs. M2, M4+M5 (p =0.039) and the presence of hepatomegaly (p=0.005). Conclusions: WT1 and FOXP3 overexpression has an adverse impact on clinical presentation, treatment response and survival of pediatric and adult Egyptian AML patients.
Two-Fold Differentially Private Mechanism for Big Data Analysis

Differential privacy (DP) has emerged as a gold standard for privacy preservation in many applications, particularly in light of recent advancements in machine learning for big data for cloud services and the growing threat of privacy attacks. However, the addition of random noise to data for privacy preservation often results in decreased data quality and utility. To address this challenge, we propose a novel twofold differentially private data generation method that leverages the power of denoising autoencoders to preserve higher data quality and utility. Our approach combines traditional additive differential privacy with a novel reductive differential privacy approach that uses a denoising autoencoder to restore the original distribution of the data, increasing the data utility in machine learning tasks. We also experimentally show the effectiveness of the proposed method by experimental evaluation.

Objective: The current experiment was performed to investigate the influence of different dietary levels of Moringa oleifera leaf meal (MOLM) on productive performance, nutrient digestibility, blood parameters, immune response, caecal microbiota, and carcass characteristics of Muscovy ducks (Cairina moschata) during 7 to 63 d of age. Methods: A total of 240 unsexed 7-d-old ducklings were distributed into five (treatment) groups; each one contained six replicates with eight ducklings each. Birds of the first group were fed basal diet without MOLM and served as control, while the other four groups were fed basal diet with 0.25%, 0.50%, 1.0%, and 2.0% MOLM inclusion level, respectively. Results: The obtained results revealed that including MOLM in the diets significantly improved body weight, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio and economic efficiency compared with the control group. Among the different MOLM inclusion treatments, increasing MOLM inclusion level decreased (p<0.05) such previous parameters. Decreasing MOLM inclusion levels in duckling diets increased (p>0.05) the digestibility of organic matter, crude protein, ether extract, and nitrogen free extract, however all MOLM treatments were significantly higher than the control group. Results also revealed that feeding ducks lower MOLM inclusion levels (0.25% or 0.50%) improved blood parameters (p<0.05) compared with the higher inclusion levels (1.0% or 2.0% MOLM) and the control group. Ducks fed different MOLM levels had significantly higher phagocyte index and activity, immunoglobulin G (IgG), IgM, total antioxidant capacity, glutathione peroxidase activity, and superoxide dismutase activity compared with control group. Conclusion: Despite the beneficial effects of all MOLM treatments on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, physiological status, and immune response of duckling, the increasing MOLM inclusion level in the diet had deleterious effects on such studied traits, consequently 0.25% was the best MOLM inclusion level in duckling diets.

A Case Study of English Language Teacher’s Practices and Beliefs about Oral Corrective Feedback

본 연구는 카자흐스탄의 한 영어 교사가 사용하는 다양한 구술 교정 피드백 전략을 파악하고, 특정 피드백 사용 시 의사결정에 미치는 교사의 상황적 인지와 교육학적 신념을 조사하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 영어 교사의 실례에 대한 사례가 두 달에 걸쳐 관찰되었다. 사례 분석 결과, 교사가 사용하는 구술 교정 피드백의 모든 유형에 대한 식별이 가능하였다. 또한 참가 교사의 구술교정 피드백 시 의사결정을 이끈 요소들이 사후 자극 회상 인터뷰를 통해 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과 참가 교사가 다양한 방법의 구술 교정을 사용한다는 것이 밝혀졌으며, 학생들의 모국어가 교사의 구술 교정 피드백 전략에 많은 영향을 주었다. 그뿐만 아니라, 교사는 상황에 대한 인지와 교육학적 믿음(관심사)을 통하여 어떠한 구두 교정을 할 것인지 최종 선택을 하였다. 본 연구결과는 교사 교육 및 전문성 함양에 대한 중요한 시사점을 제공한다. The present study investigates the different oral corrective feedback (OCF) strategies that a language teacher applies in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom practices. We also explore teacher’s perceptions of the context (TPC) and pedagogical concerns (PC) in choosing a particular type of OCF. To this end, a case study of an EFL teacher practices were observed during the two-month period. The results of the analysis enabled the identification of all the types of oral corrective feedback used by the teacher. Subsequent stimulated recall interviews with the participant teacher were conducted to identify factors that guided the teacher’s decisions. The results revealed that the participant teacher employed different types of oral corrections. His practices differed in relation to the use of the students’ first language (L1). In addition, a combination of the teacher’s perceptions of the context and pedagogical concerns (beliefs) influenced his decisions when providing correction. The findings provide important implications for teacher education and professional development.
