Vol.- No.74
In this paper, I studied how Sinocentrism (中華主義) and Huayi view (華夷觀) were reproduced in the picture text, focusing on< Wanguozhigongtu > which is believed to have been produced during the Ming Dynasty. Chapter 2 discussed the period of establishment with the author of < Wanguozhigongtu >. < Wanguozhigongtu > was originally known to have been painted by Lee Gong-rin (李公麟) of the Song Dynasty, but it is recently argued that it was produced during the Ming Dynasty. This high school comprehensively considered existing academic studies, and estimated the production period as named. In this paper, the period of production of < Wanguozhigongtu > was estimated in the Ming Dynasty by comprehensively examining existing academic studies. Chapter 3 analyzed the characteristics of < Wanguozhigongtu > by comparing the contents of the description section of < Wanguozhigongtu > in the form of a combination of paintings and writings with historical materials. As a result, < Wanguozhigongtu > not only referred to existing historical books, but also described the imaginary translation as a tribute country in accordance with the form of the < Zhigongtu (職貢圖) >. And the background of these results was the active production of paintings such as the prosperity of the tribute trade during the Ming Dynasty, interest in foreign countries, historical literature and < Shanhaijingtu In Chapter 4, the unique way in which < Wanguozhigongtu > composes foreign countries in paintings was divided into two types: formal and comic. < Wanguozhigongtu > had its own way of constructing characters and spaces, and reproduced the Huayi view in the pictu
Vol.- No.76
A main purpose of this study is to examine the modern acculturalization in a story of the ancient Chinese Kingdom of Women and analyze the meaning of a film < The Monkey King 3: The Journey to the West(西游記)·Kingdom of Women(女兒國) >. Chapter 2 summarized the genealogy of the women’s kingdom, from ancient mythical book < Shanhaijing(山海經) > to the novels of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and revealed that the images of women in a film < The Monkey King 3: The Journey to the West·Kingdom of Women > have changed to independent and contemporary images. In Chapter 3, a film < The Monkey King 3: The Journey to the West· Kingdom of Women > borrowed multinational images of the United States and Japan, which were linked to China’s intention to recognize traditional culture as an important national value and foster it as a global brand power. In addition, the representation of kingdom of women as minority race’s image of China in < The Monkey King 3: The Journey to the West·Kingdom of Women > also revealed that it was connected to the great unity and revival of China that emphasized by China. Finally, this paper pointed out a recent phenomenon of Chinese films interpreting classical works from an ecological perspective, and analyzed that this was a cultural strategy for China, which was criticized by the world in the past, to break away from stigma and become a global country.
Vol.0 No.87
The censorship and control on the publications of the colonized Joseon in the Japanese colonial era took courses of changes over time. The independent establishment of the Department of Books in April 1926 I have made this change for clarity.(as the starting point), from September 1928, when the “Monthly Report of Joseon Publishing Police” was produced in full swing and arranged, to December 1938 was “the period of systematization of publication censorship.” This thesis intends to define the time when the inspection standard was elaborated and the socialism movement in Joseon was discouraged due to the break-up of the Korea Artista Proleta Federacio (KAPF) from September 1928 to 1934 as “the period of intensified publication censorship” and to discover the censorship aspects of the magazine publication and its meaning during this era. Particularly, it intends to confirm the concrete entity of “Joseon Sonyeon” and “Sonyeon Joseon” based on the censorship aspects and administrative measures of the two magazines and infer the directionality of thought censorship of the children’s magazines and publication market by contradistinctive consideration. Through the inspection data, the “Joseon Sonyeon” was confirmed to have socialistic color focusing on the problem of the classes of proletarians, Proletariat Juveniles, and working people. On the other hand, the “Sonyeon Joseon,” while having no such characteristics, was disposed to be deleted for the problems of, mainly, nationalistic color, the longing for independence and anti-Japanese sentiment. As such, the two types of children’s magazines, which were published during similar periods, showed distinctive differences in the tendency of the writing but shared the characteristics that show socialistic or nationalistic color rather than the pursuit of the refinement of the public. The publication of children’s magazines was the result of the efforts to let the children and teenagers of the colonized Joseon be aware of the reality of colonization and develop a critical and resistant perspective. This is why the magazine publication was attempted despite the vicious cycle of censorships and administrative measures. Onwards, to substantiate the directionality of children’s magazines and publication market, this study will help to verify children’s magazines on the whole through the censorship records.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can serve as aerial base stations when cellular networks are disrupted. Most studies on UAV communications in indoor disaster situations aimed to provide throughput while using less power consumption. However, it is necessary to establish a user connectivity and a path loss by considering the movements of UAVs and the target building situation. This paper proposes a new adaptive UAV localization algorithm to maximize the user connectivity subject to the throughput requirements in indoor disaster environment using searching time. In searching time, the connectivity of indoor users can be improved, whereas there are wasted movements. Therefore, we design an adaptive UAV localization using Lyapunov optimization to maximize connectivity with fewer UAV movements. Proposed localization algorithm guarantees throughput and connectivity, in contrast to the randomly located UAV scenario.

Background/Aims: The purpose of the present study was to assess the prevalence of and factors associated with anxiety and depression in Korean patients with advanced gastrointestinal cancer. Methods: One hundred and twenty consecutive patients with newly diagnosed, advanced gastrointestinal cancer who were scheduled to receive palliative chemotherapy between July 2012 and June 2014 were enrolled in this observational prospective study. Anxiety and depression were assessed using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). Results: Thirty-seven patients (30.8%) had anxiety or depression with clinical significance according to HADS or PHQ-9. Multivariate analysis identified lower performance status (odds ratio [OR], 4.19; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.22 to 14.35; p = 0.023), gastric cancer (OR, 5.39; 95% CI, 0.37 to 78.23; p = 0.018), and knowledge of advanced cancer (OR, 15.07; 95% CI, 1.80 to 125.90; p = 0.012) as significantly associated with anxiety or depression. Twenty-one patients with anxiety or depression visited the psycho-oncologic clinic. In these patients, PHQ-9 score (p = 0.008), global health status (p = 0.023), fatigue (p = 0.047), and appetite loss (p = 0.006) improved from baseline to 3 months after study enrollment. Conclusions: Approximately 30% of Korean patients with advanced gastrointestinal cancer had anxiety or depression. The prevalence of anxiety or depression was higher in patients with poor performance status, gastric cancer, or knowledge of advanced cancer. Psychiatric interventions may be effective in reducing depression and improving quality of life in cancer patients with anxiety or depression.

As many surgical operations have been replaced by laparoscopic surgery, the number of umbilical keloid patients is gradually increasing. Generally, as keloids are painful in the disease itself, clinical differentiation with secondary infection could be difficult. If a thick keloid is formed, it may be a hard problem to confirm the fluctuation and heat sensation in the physical examination. For these reasons, rapid and appropriate surgical intervention can be delayed in numerous umbilical keloid patients. We experienced three cases of secondary keloid infection in our hospital. In two middle-aged women with tenderness of the keloid, an inflammatory epidermoid cyst was identified by incisional biopsy. Pus from the both patients was sent for microbiological examination, but any significant bacteria growth that might be a pathogenicity factor was not found. Both patients were treated by empirical antibiotics and pus drainage with sterile packing dressing. In the other patient, the cause of repeated keloid inflammation was found to be an iatrogenic small peritoneal defect due to previous surgery. She was sent to general surgery part for additional diagnostic work-up and proper management. From these, we could infer the inflammation of umbilical keloid can be caused by a lot of reasons and require much attention for diagnosis. Thus, we will discuss appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic approach for secondary infection of umbilical keloid.

This study proposes a method of predicting impact acceleration, at pedestrians' medial knees, more accurately in low-speed collisions. For this, the roles of the prime movers are included in the low extremities by applying muscle activations to a finite element (FE) human model. For low-speed collision experiments, between a car bumper and a pedestrian, were performed using a custom designed sled to obtain the sequence and degree of muscle activations in the low extremities, and impact accelerations at the medial knees of the subjects. More analyses were performed at the impact velocity of 5 and 10 ㎞/hour in order to further understand the effects of the muscle activations on the impact accelerations at the medial knee joint. At the lowest impact speed, the reduction of peak impact acceleration was 20 % when the result with muscle activations was compared to that without muscle activations. The amount of reduction was decreased to 12 % at the impact speed of 5 ㎞/hour. As the impact speed was increased to 10 ㎞/hour, the amount of reduction was insignificant but still existed to as much as 3 %. Therefore, it was suggested that the muscle activations in the lower limbs, to a pedestrian-vehicle collision analysis, are important to accurately predict the impact acceleration and possible injury mechanisms of the knee when the impact velocity is lower than 10 ㎞/hour.
Scalp white piedra caused by Rhodotorula species
( Junghwa Yang ),( Hyeon Jeong Park ),( Yunho Lee ),( Sunmin Yim ),( Jung Yup Kim ),( Jae Yun Lim ),( Young Jun Choi ),( Jae-hui Nam ),( Ga-young Lee ),( Won-serk Kim ) 대한피부과학회 2018 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.70 No.1
White piedra is a superficial mycotic infection of the hair shaft, characterized by small, firm, irregular gritty nodules. This asymptomatic infection, also known as tinea nodosa and trichomycosis nodularis, is mainly caused by basidiomycetous yeasts in the genus Trichosporon. But rarely has this disease due to other fungi infection been reported and no case of white piedra in Korean was documented so far. A 22-year-old man presented with palpable translucent to white nodules along the left temporal scalp hair. He denied other symptoms like scalp irritation or pruritus, but complained the affected hairs became brittle and easily broke at points of attached nodules. On the contrary, the adjacent scalp skin was not affected. For the diagnosis, fungus culture from the affected hair on Sabouraud agar was performed and it revealed distinctive orange to red colonies, which were diagnostic of Rhodotorulla species. The patient was treated with oral itraconazole and isoconazole cream, and his symptom was clinically improved after a month with significant decrement of the concretions and brittle hairs. Thus, we will introduce this patient as a rare case of white piedra caused by Rhodotorula species.
