Kumar Bismaya,Sabyasachi Pattanayak,Abhishek Dixit,Abhishek Pathak,Rameshwar Nath Chaurasia,Varun Kumar Singh 대한신경집중치료학회 2021 대한신경집중치료학회지 Vol.14 No.2
BackgroundFor certain ocular movement abnormalities, the exact neuroanatomical localization of the causative lesion is still not defined. Oculomotor apraxia, apraxia of eye opening and closing, and motor impersistence are rarely reported in acute stroke, particularly following venous stroke.Case ReportA 34-year-old man presented with headache, vomiting, focal seizures with bilateral tonic-clonic movements, and altered sensorium. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed bilateral frontal and left parietal hemorrhagic infarcts, and contrast venography revealed superior sagittal sinus thrombosis. The patient received anticoagulant treatment with antiepileptics. On re-examination on day 3, the patient had a rare combination of apraxia of eyelid closure, motor impersistence, and oculomotor apraxia. By Day 10 of admission, all oculomotor abnormalities had subsided.ConclusionTo the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the combination of oculomotor apraxia and apraxia of eyelid closure with motor impersistence in a patient with cerebral venous sinus thrombosis.

The present paper investigates the propagation of Love-type wave in a composite structure comprised of imperfectly bonded piezoelectric layer with lower fiber-reinforced half-space with rectangular shaped irregularity at the common interface. Closed-form expression of phase velocity of Love-type wave propagating in the composite structure has been deduced analytically for electrically open and short conditions. Some special cases of the problem have also been studied. It has been found that the obtained results are in well-agreement to the Classical Love wave equation. Significant effects of various parameters viz. irregularity parameter, flexibility imperfectness parameter and viscoelastic imperfectness parameter associated with complex common interface, dielectric constant and piezoelectric coefficient on phase velocity of Love-type wave has been reported. Numerical computations and graphical illustrations have been carried out to demonstrate the deduced results for various cases. Moreover, comparative study has been performed to unravel the effects of the presence of reinforcement and piezoelectricity in the composite structure and also to analyze the existence of irregularity and imperfectness at the common interface of composite structure in context of the present problem which serves as a salient feature of the present study.

Candida antarctica lipase was covalently immobilized onto the surface of cellulose acetate-coated Fe2O3nanoparticles. The characterizations of immobilized lipase were examined by Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer(FTIR) and field emission gun-scanning electron microscopy (FEG-SEM). The immobilized lipase was assayedfor production of monoglycerides (MG) and diglycerides (DG) by glycerolysis of olive oil in a solvent medium. Theeffect of various reaction conditions on the MG and DG production such as reaction time, temperature, the molar ratioof glycerol to oil and amount of immobilized lipase was investigated. The optimum condition for MG and DG productionwas found at 50 oC temperature and 0.025 g of lipase with the molar ratio of glycerol to oil 1.5 : 1 in 5 h of reactiontime. The effect of substrate concentration on enzymatic activity of the free and immobilized lipase showed the bestfits to the Lineweaver-Burk plots. The Km and Vmax values of immobilized lipase were found to be 25mM and 0.58mM/min, whereas that for free lipase was 52.63mM and 1.75mM/min, respectively. The activation and deactivation energywas found to decrease for immobilization of lipase on cellulose acetate-coated Fe2O3 nanoparticles.

We report the effect of germanium doping on the active layer of amorphous Zinc–Tin-Oxide (a-ZTO) thin film transistor (TFT). Amorphous thin film samples were prepared by RF magnetron sputtering using single targets composed of Zn2Ge0.05Sn0.95O4 and Zn2SnO4 with variable oxygen contents in the sputtering gases. In comparison with undoped, Ge-doped a-ZTO films exhibited five order of magnitude lower carrier density with a significantly higher Hall-mobility, which might be due to suppressed oxygen vacancies in the a-ZTO lattice since the Ge substituent for the Sn site has relatively higher oxygen affinity. Thus, the bulk and interface trap densities of Ge-doped a-ZTO film were decreased one order of magnitude to 7.047 1018 eV 1cm 3 and 3.52 1011 eV 1cm 2, respectively. A bottom-gate TFT with the Ge-doped a-ZTO active layer showed considerably improved performance with a reduced SS, positively shifted Vth, and two orders of magnitude increased Ion/Ioff ratio, attributable to the doped Ge ions.

In drilling process, burr plays an important role on the quality parts. It is necessary to minimize the burr height. This paper presents theeffect of CNC drilling process parameters like cutting speed, feed rate, step angle and cutting environment on burr height and hole diametererror of Al6063/15%/SiC composites. The composites are fabricated using mechanical stir casting. An experimental study on compositeswas conducted using three HSS drills. The Taguchi design of experiments and analysis of variance (ANOVA) are used to optimizethe response for Al6063/15%/SiC composites. The results revealed that the quality of the holes can be improved by proper selection ofcutting process parameters. SEM analysis and XRD analysis are also carried for composite, drilled surface and drill bits. These analysisprovide the good agreement with the effect of cutting parameters on burr height and hole diameter error.

Soft and hard templating methods have widely been applied to synthesize mesoporous zeolites having different pore diameters and structures. Background: Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is an immune-mediated inflammatory polyneuropathy characterized by acute flaccid paralysis. Elevated creatine kinase (CK) levels in GBS have been reported to be transient, and levels vary from mild to severe. Herein, we report a case of GBS with elevated CK mimicking acute myositis.Case Report: A 48-year-old man presented with pure motor flaccid quadriparesis. Power was 2/5 with hypotonia and areflexia in all four limbs. A nerve conduction study revealed reduced compound muscle action potential in all recorded motor nerves. Serum CK was 2,334 U/L. The patient’s symptoms progressed despite intravenous methylprednisolone administration. Cerebrospinal fluid (day 8) revealed albuminocytological dissociation, and electromyography (day 21) revealed spontaneous activity with neurogenic motor unit action potential suggestive of acute motor axonal neuropathy variant of GBS.Conclusion: In a patient with elevated CK and ascending paralysis, differential diagnosis of GBS should be considered and cerebrospinal fluid study and electromyography should aid in confirming the diagnosis.

Enzymatic glycerolysis of olive oil for mono- (MG) and diglycerides (DG) synthesis was investigated. Several pure organic solvents and co-solvent mixtures were screened in a batch reaction system. The yields of MG and DG in co-solvent mixtures exceeded those of the corresponding pure organic solvents. Batch reaction conditions of the glycerolysis reaction, the lipase amount, the glycerol to oil molar ratio, the reaction time, and temperature, were studied. In these systems, the high content of reaction products, especially MG (55.8 wt%) and DG (16.4wt%) was achieved at 40 oC temperature and 0.025 g of lipase with relatively low glycerol to oil molar ratio (2 : 1) within 4 h of reaction time in isopropanol/tert-butanol (1 : 3) solvent mixture. Glycerolysis reaction was optimized with the assistance of response surface methodology (RSM). Optimal condition for reaction conversion was recommended as lipase amount 0.025 g, glycerol to oil molar ratio 2 : 1, reaction time 4 h and temperature 40 oC.
