There are many attempts to apply AI technology to diagnose facilities or improve the work efficiency of the power industry. The emergence of new machine learning technologies, such as deep learning, is accelerating the digital transformation of the power sector. The problem is that traditional power systems face security risks when adopting state-of-the-art AI systems. This adoption has convergence characteristics and reveals new cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities to the power system. This paper deals with the security measures and implementations of the power system using machine learning. Through building a commercial facility operations forecasting system using machine learning technology utilizing power big data, this paper identifies and addresses security vulnerabilities that must compensated to protect customer information and power system safety. Furthermore, it provides security guidelines by generalizing security measures to be considered when applying AI.
원어민 대화 코퍼스와 고등학교 영어 교과서, 영어회화 교재에 나타난 담화표지어 ‘but’에 관한 비교 연구

Discourse markers (DMs), which guide the hearer toward the meaning intended by the speaker, consist of a functionally related group of expressions marking relations between units of discourse. Despite a growing interest in DMs, little research has concentrated on the analysis of their use in pedagogical settings. The present study compares the use of the DM but in an American conversation corpus, Korean high school English textbooks, and global ELT textbooks. The results from the analysis indicate that but is less frequently used in Korean textbooks than the corpus and ELT textbooks, and of all the thirteen functions of but about 66% of the uses represented in Korean textbooks consist of denial of expectation. Given that the appropriate use of DMs is essential to develop communicative competence, textbooks require more detailed and accurate presentations of how the DM but is used in real-life situations.
고등학교 영어 교과서와 ELT 교재에 나타난 담화표지어 well 연구

The present study investigates the similarities and differences in the use of the discourse marker well between the listening and speaking scripts of 16 Korean high school English textbooks and those of six ELT coursebooks. Results from the analysis indicate that well as a discourse marker occurs more frequently in ELT coursebooks than in high school English textbooks. A corpus-driven analysis of the functions of the discourse marker well shows that it performs four textual functions, that is, initiation, topic shift, addition of information, and floor-holding. Only a single textual function occurs in 7 out of 16 English textbooks, but does so in one out of six ELT coursebooks. The present study also demonstrates that well as a responsive marker at the interpersonal level appears to be overemphasized in both English textbooks and ELT coursebooks. Findings from the present study suggest that textbooks require more extensive coverage of how the discourse marker well is used in conversation.
스마트 그리드를 위한 원격검침 표준 프로토콜 인증 시스템 구축과 표준화에 관한 연구

본 논문에서는 스마트 그리드의 대표적 서비스인 원격검침을 위한 국제 표준 프로토콜 DLMS(Device Language Message Specifications)의 도입에서부터 정착까지 한국전력공사의 원격검침 인증 시스템 구축내용과 연구개발의 현황을 살펴보고자 한다. 현재 운용 중인 55만 저압고객에 대한 고속 PLC를 활용한 원격검침 시스템은 전력회사의 자체 통신 인프라를 활용하여 고속 데이터 전송이 가능한 시스템으로써, 전 세계적으로도 사업화에 빠르게 적용한 케이스이다. 여기에는 국제 표준 기반 원격검침 프로토콜을 탑재한 전자식 전력량계와 원격검침 핵심 기기 간 프로토콜의 적합성을 평가하기 위한 인증 시스템의 적기 구축이 큰 성공요인으로 볼 수 있다. 이처럼 한국전력공사에서는 DLMS 표준 기반 인증 시스템의 구축을 통하여 국내의 원격검침 서비스와 관련된 장비의 품질을 높이고, 시장의 확장을 선도하였으며, 스마트 그리드의 초창기 사업화 안착에도 많은 기여를 하였다. 또한, 전력선통신 분야 원천기술 개발의 지속 추진을 통한 각종 IPR의 확보 및 표준화 활동을 통하여 스마트 그리드 기술을 고도화하기 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. In this paper, we introduce the case study on the certificate system for Auto Meter Reading protocol, Device Language Message Specification which is a common language between metering devices and protocol with compatibility and conformance to the IEC 62056 standards. KEPCO has contributed to improve interoperability between different devices of multi vendors through the DLMS standard tests and led the smart metering industry in Korea. KEPCO has AMR system and successful business model for 550 thousands of households based on 24Mbps broadband powerline communications using its infrastructure. We have plan to continue on standardization activities stratagemically by participating in IEC working groups for the purpose of occupying the core technology of Smart Gird.
미국 영어 대면 대화에 나타난 담화표지어 well 연구

This study examines the use of the discourse marker well in a corpus of American English conversation to determine its role in marking structural and interactional functions. In relevance theory, the discourse marker well is seen as a signal that reorients the hearer to a context of assumptions yielding the speaker`s intended interpretation (Blakemore, 2002). Adopting this perspective of relevance theory, this paper shows that the functions that well may serve can be inferred from its encoded procedural meaning together with the assumption that the utterance is the most relevant one compatible with the speaker`s abilities and preferences. Excerpts from the data illustrate how well initiates the speaker`s turn and holds the floor, how it indicates a shift of topic, resumption, and addition of information, how it introduces direct reported speech, and how it signals insufficiency, agreement, and disagreement. Of the ten functions used in the corpus, the most frequently occurred one involves turn management. The discourse marker well in turn-initial positions is also frequently used to express the speaker`s feelings and reactions as a marker of interactional functions.

Deixis is a phenomenon that has been studied from many different perspectives, and there are several issues in the debate on the meaning of it. Adopting the cognitive perspective of relevance theory, this paper applies the fundamental distinction between ‘conceptual’ and ‘procedural’ linguistic meanings to the question of how a variety of uses of proximal demonstrative in explained. It is proposed that proximal demonstratives ‘this’ in English and ‘I’ in Korean encode both pro-conceptual and prodcedural information which has a fundmantally pragmatic effect on interpretation as part of relevance-theoretic comprehension procedure. The procedural meaning encoded by proximal demonstratives intreucts the hearer to pay attention to the intended referent which is mist salient in the given context, while the pro-conceptual meaning of distance encoded by these demonstratives has to be contextually specified and directs the hearer‘s attention to the intended referent which is located as proximal on the distance scale. When the information encoded in the proximal demonstratives is superfluous during the phase of referent assignment, the extra effort required to process this information is justified by yielding an adequate ranges of additional inferential effects. An important implication of this study is that it offers a unified account of the spatio-temporal, discourse-deictic, anaphoric, and emotional uses of proximal demonstratives in terms of the relevance-theoretic notion of pro-conceptual and procedural meanings.
