1. Objectives: This case study described a process of the patient diagnosed as acute hepatitis A treated by medication based on the Sasang Constitutional Medicine and acupuctural theraphy and obtained improved effects about several symptoms. 2. Methods: We diagnosed the male patient with acute hepatitis A as Tae-Eumin Exterior-Cold-Disease by the Cold in the Esophagus, and administered Mahwangbalpyo-tang and Handayeolso-tang according to clinical progress. And we evaluated the results by liver function test(LFT; AST, ALT, $\gamma$-GTP ), total bilirubin level and the visual analog scale(VAS) of symptoms. 3. Results and Conclusion: Almost symptoms (except for jaundice) at the time of admission were disappeared, and also jaundice (estimated by color of scleras and color of urine) was alleviated. Also level of AST, ALT, $\gamma$-GTP and total bilirubin decreased in laboratory test. We obtained positive effects to the therapy but we considered necessities of further comparative studies with control group.

Zirconia ceramic fixed dental prosthesis with all-on-4 concept implants for irradiated maxilla: A case report

The implant-supported fixed dental prosthesis in irradiated maxilla needs meticulous treatment planning due to low bone healing capacity. All-on-4 concept implantation can reduce the number of implants to be placed avoiding bone grafting procedure. Conventionally, prefabricated angled abutments for tilted implants have been used. However, in this case, it was replaced with computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) abutment. This case report described all-on-4 concept implantation and fabrication of CAD/CAM zirconia fixed dental prostheses using CAD/CAM titanium abutments. 방사선치료를 받은 상악에 임플란트 지지 고정성 보철물을 이용하여 수복하는 것은 골치유능력이 낮기 때문에 상세한 치료계획이 필요하다. All-on-4 개념에 의한 임플란트 식립은 골이식을 피하면서 임플란트를 매식할 수 있어 유리하다. 일반적으로 경사된 임플란트에는 기성 경사형 지대주를 사용해왔다. 본 임상증례에서는 computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM)으로 제작된 지대주를 사용하였다. 본 증례는 all-on-4 개념에 의해 임플란트를 매식하고 CAD/CAM titanium 지대주를 제작한 다음 CAD/CAM zirconia 고정성 보철물로 수복하여 좋은 결과를 얻었기에 보고하고자 한다.

아로마 에센셜 오일의 사상체질의학적 분류제목

1. Objectives: Aromatherapy is one of the alternative medical treatments by flavors of essential oils extracted from plants. This study was to investigate the classification of aroma essential oils by Sasang Constitution for clinical applications. 2. Methods: 1) We searched scientific name of aroma essential oils and scientific name of herbs, classify aroma essential oils according to Sasang Constitution. 2) If the method 1) is impossible, sort them by regard of aroma essential oils' flavors, specific characters and efficacies. 3. Results: Aroma essential oils suitable for Soeumin are 27 kinds, for Soyangin and Taeeumin are each 16 kinds, and for Taeyangin are 5 kinds.(Duplicates are allowed.) The cases which can not be classified clearly, are 10 kinds, so they are able to consider the Constitution of the more than two-phase. 4. Conclusions: Most of aromatic herbs are warm and spicy by pre-reports. So, aroma essential oils suitable for Soeumin are most often. After this study, studies about Sasang Constitutional herb recipes and more clinical studies are needed.

토마토 분말을 첨가한 죽의 품질 특성

We investigated the physicochemical and antioxidant activity characteristics of tomato porridge with different ratios (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8%) of tomato powder in order to determine its potential health benefits. Tomato porridge samples were measured to obtain 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity. The DPPH radical scavenging activity increased with the addition of tomato powder. The moisture contents of samples ranged from 81% to 78%. The L-value decreased, while a- and b-values increased, as the amount of tomato powder in the porridge increased. Also, the pH of samples decreased with increasing quantity of tomato powder. Based on sensory evaluations, the tomato powder intensified color, flavor, taste, appearance, viscosity and overall acceptability of the porridge. The sample that comprised 6% tomato powder had the highest color, flavor, taste, appearance and overall acceptability scores. Consequently, this research found that incorporating this percentage of tomato powder into the rice flour was the best formula for tomato porridge.

In order to reduce jaw fracture accompanied by basal skull or nasal fracture, submental intubation could be generally performed. Albeit submental intubation has been widely accepted, it could develop complications such as nerve injury, glandular duct injury, and orocutaneous fistula. Here, we suggest oral intubation for overcoming complications and providing more stable surgical environment in emergency case. Under oral intubation maintaining in retromolar triangle and buccal corridor space, intermaxillary fixation was successfully underwent in 38-years-old female patient with Le Fort I fracture accompanied by pneumocephalus.

This paper is an attempt to reinterpret Bram Stoker`s Dracula(1897) and highlight the descriptions of, and overall emphasis on the female victims and the actual feeding on their blood. Most critical accounts agree that vampirism both expresses and distorts an original sexual energy, all the while using `blood` to symbolize sexuality, sperm, and capitalist consumption. These issues are especially apparent in the female characters of Lucy and Mina, two exceptionally beautiful and intelligent women and victims of Dracula`s attack. As a reflection of the wave of `New Women`, the two friends, who are described as angels, discuss taboo subjects such as "Why can`t they let a girl marry three men, or as many as want her, and save all trouble?"(67) Because of this portrayal, Dracula`s attack on Lucy and Mina are justified due to the threat of the women losing their femininity and their perception as the `Proper Lady` or `Angel` that was the ideal of feminine behavior in 18th and 19th century Great Britain. With Dracula`s attack of Lucy, the novel highlights the overt sexualization of his feeding on their blood. In this respect, Dracula`s gender, which is ambiguous throughout the novel to allow for his feeding, as both consumption and as sexual act, on both male and female victims, to further provoke the reader`s or main characters` anxiety and hatred. Dracula`s sex, therefore, must be made into one that looks just like readers` and the main characters` own. By this reason, Dracula is indicated as `a man`, although `he` has a talent to turn into everything. In his attack on Lucy, Dracula becomes the gendered male and master over his female victim. In this respect, Lucy becomes an overly desired property. Lucy`s victimization and ultimate destruction furthers the male fantasies of conquest and domination of valuable property. In the novel female characters including the female vampires are described persistently as the gendered body on the contrast of male characters. This shows the distribution of power in the relationship between men and women beyond the women as the gendered body. Men must have created a way to make women inferior to them to interpret women who have no energy but only consumptive brain. This interpretation may have been able to divide women into `others` unlike men. Underneath the dichotomy of male and female, natural and unnatural, human and nonhuman, there exists ultimate distinction between self and other. This is why the female image is maximized as the gendered body.

그녀의 초상: 화자 재현의 폭력성

This study aims to analyze the narrators’ language as it is used to depict emotion in the 19th century works, Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Oval Portrait,” Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre, and Bram Stoker’s Dracula. In each of these works, the women portrayed are confronted with death, madness, and disease. Poe’s “The Oval Portrait,” which associates beautiful women with death, transforms the visuality of art into the written word, that of the narrator. This work is about a ‘desperately wounded’ narrator who chances to pass a night in an abandoned chateau where he happens upon an intriguing portrait. His subsequent depiction of the work can be read as a metaphor of translation. The portrait’s painter was so obsessed with his art that he translated the subject of the work, his wife, into a lifeless model while the narrator translates the painting into a text, which is twice removed from the original subject. The artist willingly sacrificed his wife to create a perfect image. Now the narrator sees the painter’s art and violates the traditional principle of translation. In his description, there is a defusion of, or illusion between, life and art, all using vague and quaint language. The narrator is by no means a reliable source of the tale; therefore, the whole story becomes doubly framed, first by the frame of the portrait, and then by the frame of the narrative. Poe never truly wrote about women. Instead, he wrote about a female object and ignored individual character that add depth or believability to the repeated stereotypes of the beautiful damsel. In a similar manner, the other two novels, Jane Eyre, and Dracula, depict women with madness and disease. In Jane Eyre, the character Bertha, who is insane, is described through Rochester. Neither he nor Jane, as narrators, is reliable for representing the whole aspects of Bertha. She is just the catalyst to let Jane establish an ideal home with Rochester. In Stoker’s novel, Dracula is indicated as a man in character. However, in his attack on Lucy, he shows her, a proper lady or angel, as having the ideal feminine behavior in the 19th century. The male narrators, including Doctor Van Helsing, justify Lucy as the woman whose purpose is as victim. Likewise, the original aspects of the women are depicted through death, madness, and disease, but are never shown as real subjects, only reproductions of cultural images via the narrator’s emotions and the objects of fear and agitation.

케이트 쇼팬의 『각성』에 나타난 가족서사와 사랑의 문제

Kate Chopin`s novel, The Awakening(1899) is usually evaluated to be about the necessity of being free to choose one`s own destiny. The heroine, Edna Pontellier is admired for her courage in acting upon her artistic and sexual impulses and even in committing suicide as a free act of self-recognition and refusal to return to the bondage of her domestic life. Many critics including Sandra Gilbert attempt to prove that Edna is resurrected or reborn as she swims out into the sea. Her awakening is to the irresolvable conflict between her vision of herself as an independent woman and the social force of Creole Louisiana near the end of the nineteenth century(Dingledine 212). However, these analyses do not seem to be very likely. The emphasis of her death ignored the morality of family but implied the story of a woman`s growing awareness of her own sensuality. That is the reason why the novel is called the American Madame Bovary. This paper is an attempt to reinterpret Edna`s death focusing on the family structure and frustration of love. The novel reflects this aspect rather than a woman`s vision. Edna fell in love with Robert Lebrun even though she ought not to. She seems to have decided that she would not have anything to say to her husband. When her husband, Leonce pleased her, his absolute devotion flattered her before their marriage. Edna fancied there was a sympathy of thought and taste between them, in which she was mistaken(22). The narrative seems to describe her marriage as a mistake and her new love with Robert and her inner sexual life as a true life to wake her. After experiencing the series of events Edna did not try to convince her husband what she wanted and why it was important because even she did not understand what happened to her. She presented significant problems as self-destructive in the complex narrative. However, her awakening about her mistaken choice of marriage would have to be taken responsibility to extend the process of instant love. If she had wanted to struggle for patriarchy, she would have searched another resolution instead of death. Unlike many critics` insists, her death does not seem an act of self-knowledge or self-assertion nor a wish to protect her children(Sullivan and Smith 69). It is doubted that the result of a series of depressions becomes suicidal after Robert leaves her. In this respect, The narrative of the novel should expand Edna`s awakening to the practical act of struggle for recognition between her and her husband. Hereby, what is called as awakening should be the ethic for her own life.
