Ex-situ 토양세척기법에 의한 소수성 유기오염물질로 오염된 토양의 정화에 관한 연구

본 연구에서는 일련의 회분식 규모의 실험을 통해 소수성 유기오염물질로 오염된 토양에 토양세척기법을 적용함에 있어서 필요한 최적의 운전조건을 도출하고 세척후 분리된 상등액중에 포함된 유기오염물질 및 세척제를 유기용매를 이용하여 효율적으로 분리.회수하기 위한 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 사용된 계면활성제는 토양과 결합될 우려가 적은 비이온계 계면활성제중 독성이 거의 없으며 국내에서 대량 생산되어 수급이 원활한 계면활성제를 선별하여 소수성 유기오염물질인 n-dodecane(4,000mg/kg dny Soil)으로 오염된 토양에 대해 세척시간, 계면활성제 용액의 농도, 진탕비, 온도 등에 따른 세척효율의 변화를 조사하였다. 실험결과 계면활성제의 HLB(hydrophile-liphophile balance)값이 MSR(molar solubility ratio) 값과 함께 토양세척시 중요한 변수로 작용하였다. HLB값이 낮아 유탁액을 형성하지 못하는 OA-5나 sophorolipid는 10% 이내의 극히 낮은 세척효율을 보였다. 그러나 안정된 유탁액을 형성하는 HLB값 범위내에서는 소수성 유기오염물질에 대한 액상실험에서의 용해도가 큰 계면활성제가 유리하였다. 높은 HLB값을 갖는 OA-14는 OA-9 보다 안정된 유탁액을 형성하지만 용해도에 대한 지표인 MSR값이 OA-9보다 작아 약 20%정도의 낮은 세척효율을 보였다. 안정된 유탁액을 형성하는 동시에 용해도가 높은 OA-9용액이 단독으로 쓰일 때는 최대 60%정도의 세척효율을 보였다. 또한 OA-9세척유출수로부터 유기용매인 벤젠을 이용하여 anthracene을 회수하고자 하는 경우, 세척유출수의 온도를 $30^{\circ}C$, pH는 2로 조절하는 것이 회수 효율 측면에서 바람직하다. In this study, a series of batch-scale tests were conducted to optimize the design parameters for the application of soil washing techniques to the hydrophobic organic compounds(HOCs)-contaminated soil and to find the effective methods for the recovery of surfactants from washing effluent by using solvent. Several nonionic surfactants (polyoxyethylene oleyl ester) and sophorolipid were applied to the artificially contaminated soil (4,000 mg n-dodecane/kg dry soil). The effects of washing time, concentration of surfactant solution, dilution ratio, and temperature on washing efficiencies were examined. Hydrophile-liphophile balance (HLB) number was proven to be one of the important parameters for soil washing. The HLB numbers of OA-5 and sophorolipid are too low to form a stable soil-water emulsion. They showed very low washing efficiencies less than 10e1o. If HLB number is in the proper range to form a stable soil-water emulsion, surfactant having higher solubility for HOCs shows higher washing efficiency. OA-14 having higher HLB number than OA-9 formed more stable soil-water emulsion. But its washing efficiency was about 20% due to a lower molar solubility ratio (MSR) than OA-9. OA-9, which forms a stable soil-water emulsion and has comparatively high sotubility for HOCs, showed about 60% washing efficiency by itself. To recover anthracene effectively from OA-9 washing effluent by using benzene as an organic solvent, desirable temperature and pH were $30^{\circ}C$ and 2, respectively.

We propose a feature generation method for low-resolution face recognition. For this, we first generate new features from the input features (pixels) of a low-resolution face image by adding the higher-order terms. Then, we evaluate the separability of both of the original input features and new features by computing the discriminant distance of each feature. Finally, new data sample used for recognition consists of the features with high separability. The experimental results for the FERET, CMU-PIE and Yale B databases show that the proposed method gives good recognition performance for low-resolution face images compared with other method.
유한차분 및 Fourier급수전개법을 이용한 지하수 유동방정식의 해석

To investigate the fate of the contaminants in the subsurface, the movement of the groundwater should be predicted first. A finite difference and spectral decomposition method (FDASDM) was developed for local solution refinement of the two-dimensional groundwater flow equation in a confined aquifer. Block-centered finite difference and spectral domain decomposition schemes were employed for the global and local grids, respectively. A finite Fourier consine series expansion of variable order was applied over each local discrete domain. The basic solution procedure is to approximate solutions first on a global grid and then on a local grid using the global approximations as boundary values for the local grid. To demonstrate the validity of the method, a computer model FDASDM was written and several test problems were simulated. The results were compared with analytical or other previously validated numerical models. Even with relatively low harmonics, FDASDM solutions on a local grid closely approximated the analytical counterparts except at the singularity points. As lower harmonics were tested, slight oscillations were observed. However, the accuracy of the solutions could be easily improve by increasing the harmonics where needed.
