The purpose of this study is to clarify which attributes are significant when consumers are buying brand-rices and to predict the changes of market share when American rice and Chinese rice are imported to domestic rice market using conjoint analysis method.The main results are as follows.First, The most important attribute was brand in relative importance when consumers chose rice, and the price was followed, then variety, quality assurance mark, polished date was followed that. Second, consumers could be divided into 4 groups using cluster analysis. The 1st group had bigger coefficient of part-worth utility in price than the others, 2nd group laid weight on brand, who disliked the imported rice very much, 3rd group less disliked calrose compared to the others, variety and quality assurance were important standards for 4th group to buy rice. Third, the results of simulation show that if high-price rice lowered their price to recover the market share, it will more reduce the market share of domestic low-price rice than that of the imported rice.The results above imply that lowering price of high-price rice have to be considered prudently, the effort to increase the brand recognition to consumers would be important and effective way for brand rice which is lowly recognized now.

한우 비육우 사육기간 단축기술에 대한 경제성 분석 -자가TMR 제조·급여 실증농가를 대상으로-

The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic feasibility of technology developed by the National Institute of Animal Science used to shorten the raising term of Hanwoo cattle. This technology can address the increasing proportion of feed cost to operating expenses in the industry. The technology maintains quality by high nutrition breeding during the growing period while shortening the fattening period compared to conventional methods for castrated cattle. Our analysis employs the partial budget method, and results are as follows. First, we found that the ratio of shipment in age of less than 29 months has been increasing. Second, the statistical test finds that both the reduction in age of the months for shipment and the increase in dressed weight annually are significant. Third, the benefit of introducing the technology with the self-manufactured TMR accounts for 467,990 won per head/time. This result is strong evidence for prioritizing and extending pilot projects. In order to further expand this technology in the future, problems, limitations, and obstacles to introduction should be additionally disclosed for participating and non-participating farms after conducting the pilot project. 본 연구의 목적은 국립축산과학원에서 개발한 한우 사육기간 단축기술의 경제성을 분석하여 기술보급확산을 위한 타당성을 제공하는 것이다. 한우 사육기간 단축기술은 한우 사육농가의 사료비가 경영비에서 차지하는 비중이 점점 커지고 있다는 문제점을 해결하고자 거세 한우를 대상으로 비육기간을 관행보다 단축시키면서도 육성기 고영양 사양을 통해 품질은 유지키시는 기술이다. 분석방법은 부분예산법(Partial budget analysis)을 적용하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실증농가는 기술도입 전에 29개월 미만으로 출하한 성적이 0%였으나, 도입 3년차에 51.2%로, 도입 6년차에는 63.6%로 증가하였다. 둘째, 출하월령과 도체중의 연차별 성적에 대해 분산분석을 수행한 결과, 출하월령에 유의수준 0.01을 기준으로 차이가 있다는 결과를 얻었다. 또한, 도체중에서도 유의수준 0.05를 기준으로 도체중이 증가하였음을 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 사육기간 단축기술을 부분예산법으로 경제성을 평가한 결과, 자가 TMR 제조·급여 효과와 2개월 기단 단축효과를 합하면 최대 467,990원/두/회 수익이 발생한다는 결과를 얻었다. 본 결과는 기술보급사업에서 해당 기술이 우선적으로 보급될 수 있도록 강력한 근거자료로 활용될 수 있다. 향후 본 기술의 더 많은 보급 확대를 위해서는 시범사업 추진 이후 참여 농가와 미참여 농가를 대상으로 문제점과 한계점, 도입에 대한 장애요인 등을 추가적으로 밝혀야 할 것이다.
KOPIA 케냐센터의 양계 시범사업에 대한 투자효과 분석

This study aimed to analyze the investment feasibility of the poultry model village project at the KOPIA Kenya Center of the Rural Development Administration. To achieve this objective, the study examined the effect on improving farm household income and conducted the Benefit-Cost analysis. The survey conducted one-on-one interviews with farmers who participated in the pilot project using the difference-in-difference method. The pilot project yielded an increase of 43,585 shillings(≒475,076 \)/ year per household in comparison to the conventional farms. The B/C ratio was 6.0, indicating a high level of investment performance.
우유소비자의 위험회피에 대한 선호구조 분석 -일본의 사례를 중심으로-

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the preference structure in self-pays of Japanese milk consumers for risk avoidance. This paper takes notice of the risks that arise from the food production and the food consumption, which have different characteristics in diary industry. The risk avoidances are defined as two individual risks and one complex risk in this paper. 1) The first is to escape from the risk derived from food poisoning that may hurt consumers` health directly in a short term(risk P). 2) The second is to escape from the risk derived from environmental contamination that may hurt consumers` health indirectly and its hazards will extend over next generations in a long term(risk N). 3) The third is to escape from two risks above at the same time. Average WTP of risk P resulted in 6.0 to 28.9 yen, WTP of risk N was from 11.5 to 37.7 yen. From the result above, if it is interpreted as usual it means that 66.6 yen of the amount of individual estimates should have to be paid from their household economies. However in case the risk P and the risk N were combined, Average WTP of risk PN ranged from 16.8 to 42.3 yen, and the amount of individual estimates were significantly big. Therefore, the results above show that WTP may not be equal when the value of the good is estimated individually and when it is estimated at the same time, i.e. WTP(x₁) + WTP(x₂)≠ { WTP(x₁) U WTP(x ₂)} , owing to duplication of the values that the estimated objects have and/or consumers` limit on the goods (budget constraint). Consequently, when we estimate such values through single goods, We need to put an conservative interpretation on WTP elicited from consumers.
