유전자 가위로 잘 알려진 CRISPR는 현대 생명공학에서 가장 각광을 받는 기술이라 할 수 있다. 3세대 유전자 가위 기술인 CRISPR는 RNA를 이용하여 표적 DNA를 식별하고 잘라내는 기술로서, 기존 개발된 유전가 가위보다도 정확하고 효율적으로 유전자를 편집할 수 있다는 장점을 지니고 있다. CRISPR 유전자 가위 기술의 개발로 인류는 유전자 자체를 편집하고 조작하는 시대를 맞이하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 CRISPR 유전자 가위 기술의 개발역사와 유전자 편집의 작용원리를 살펴보고, 적응성 면역시스템인 CRISPR와 인간을 비롯한 고등동물의 적응성 면역시스템과 비교함으로써 원핵세포에 깃든 하나님의 창조섭리를 고찰하고자 한다. CRISPR, the most popular technology in modern biotechnology, is well known as the genetic scissors. CRISPR, a third-generation genome editing technology, uses RNA as a director to identify and cut target DNA, which has the advantage of editing genes more accurately and efficiently than previously developed genetic scissors. With the development of CRISPR technology, humankind is entering an era of editing and manipulating genes. In this paper, the author reviews the history of the CRISPR-Cas adaptive bacterial immune system and the principle of gene editing. Finally, the author compares the CRISPR-Cas system with the human bodys adaptive immune system to reveal Gods creationism in prokaryotic cells.

A parametric study on a fluidic oscillator was performed numerically in this work. Three-dimensional unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations were solved to analyze the flow in the fluidic oscillator. As turbulence closure, k-ɛ model was employed. Validation of the numerical results was performed by comparing numerical results with experimental data for frequency of the oscillation. The parametric study was performed using five geometric parameters. Performance of the fluidic oscillator was evaluated in terms of velocity ratio and pressure drop. The results show that the inlet channel width and the distance between splitters are important factors in determining the performance of the fludic oscillator.

Duck circovirus (DuCV) has been recognized as a contagious immunosuppressive virus affecting many duck species worldwide. To determine the prevalence of DuCV infection in ducks, we investigated 104 samples collected from 50 duck farms in Jeonbuk province with the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Among collected samples, 40 (38.5%) were positive for DuCV. The prevalence of DuCV PCR-positive samples increased with age. Genomic sequences of 15 DuCV strains were determined and compared with previously available DuCV sequences in public databases. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that all strains were clustered into DuCV-1 group.

Fowl adenovirus (FAdV) and chicken anemia virus (CAV) have gained much importance as an immunosuppressive and economically important emerging pathogen of poultry. This study was carried out to investigate the prevalence of FAdV and CAV infection in chickens. The groups were divided into Korean native chickens, broiler, layer hens and broiler breeder and set up groups according to age. As results, 12.5% of the native chicken, 2.5% of broiler and 6.7% of layer chicken were positive, respectively by PCR for FAdV. Serological test showed that 84.8%, 79.0%, 97.7% and 96.1% of chickens were positive for antibody to FAdV in native chickens, broiler, layer hens and broiler breeder. The prevalence of CAV infection were 20.0%, 7.5%, 16.7% and 10.0%, based on CAV gene detection by PCR. In serological test of CAV, 40.6%, 35.9%, 84.8% and 73.9% of chickens were positive in that groups.
