ER유체를 이용한 현가장치 시스템의 성능에 관한 실험적 연구

The purpose of this study is to investigate the electrorheological(ER) fluid damper and semi-active control laws for their use in the vehicle's suspension control application. The increasing demand for safety and ride comfort has led to the development of actively or semi-actively controlled suspension in ground vehicles such as automobiles. This study experimentally shows that the proper semi-active control laws allow an ER fluid damper, which can undergo significant instantaneous reversible changes in damping characteristics when subjected to electric fields, to provide good control performance. The test rig used in this study is a quarter car model, including a sprung mass, an unsprung mass and two springs, excited by a hydraulic servo actuator. An ER fluid damper is used to control vibrations generated by the exciter in the quarter car model. From the results, it is shown that better control performance in terms of acceleration and displacement reduction is accomplished with semi-active control laws.

This paper describes the friction surface modification which has been successfully developed with the friction stir welding recently There are several problems including just position control and backlash in conventional friction surface modification system. Therefore it has been developed the friction surface modification system which has been controlled precisely both position and force by driving hydraulic cylinder in this paper. The mechtrode rotation speed(N) and feeding speed(Vz), travel speed(Vx,y) are of critical importance for the width and thickness of the coating in friction surfacing process. But there is no theoretical method of determining interrelations between process parameters affect the coating width and thickness. As a result of DOE(design of experiment) with developed system, the coating thickness and width seemed to decrease according to increase the mechtrode rotation speed(N) and traveling speed(Vx,y), to decrease feeding speed(Vz) apparently. However as the result of regression analysis the main effect was only the mechtrode rotation speed in the coating thickness.

This paper presents a method of improving performance of an electromagnetic clutch for the next generation tank gun. One of the most important things in the design of the clutch is to satisfy the requirement for the maximum torque even if the torque is varied. To achieve this requirement, it is needed to expand the operation range of the torque. Consequently, we have performed shape changes in order to cancel magnetic flux bottlenecks on the magnetic path. Simulation results from the finite element method show that the method proposed in this paper is proper for the clutch.
고차 주파수 스펙트럼을 이용한 ER 유체 댐퍼의 비선형 특성 해석 및 모델링 연구

The nonlinear damping force model is made to identify the properties of the ER (electro-rheological) fluid suspension damper. The instrumentation is carried out to measure the damping force of the ER damper. The higher order spectral analysis method is used to investigate the nonlinear frequency coupling phenomena with the damping force signal according to the sinusoidal excitation of the damper. The distinctive higher order nonlinear characteristics are observed. The nonlinear damping force model, which has the higher order velocity terms, is proposed with the result of higher order spectrum analysis. The higher order terms coefficients, which vary according to the strength of the electric field, are calculated using the least square method.

Numerical analysis information of a complex discharge-passage will be very useful to improve hydrogen compression system. General information about an internal gas flow is presented by numerical analysis approach. Relating with hydrogen compressing system, which have an important role in hydrogen energy utilization, this should be a useful tool to observe the flow quickly and clearly. Flow characteristic analysis, including pressure and turbulence kinetic energy distribution of hydrogen gas from cylinder going to the chamber of a reciprocating compressor are presented in this paper. Discharge-passage model is designed based on real model of hydrogen compressor. Pressure boundary conditions are applied considering the real condition of operating system. The result shows pressure and turbulence kinetic energy are not distributed uniformly along the passage of the hydrogen compressing system. Path line or particles tracks help to demonstrate flow characteristics inside the passage. The existence of vortices and flow direction can be precisely predicted. Based on this result, the design improvement should be done. Consequently, development of the better hydrogen compressing system will be achieved.

In this paper, a study about the optimum model which is to improve heat transfer in a rectangular channel was performed in respect of heat transfer efficiency. The velocity, temperature, and turbulent kinetic energy are presented by using numerical analysis. It was carried out by solving the governing equations for fluid flow and heat transfer using a finite volume method. Models of semi-circular column such as heat transfer accelerator on the wall were made 6 different sizes: P/e=8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18. Effects of Installed heat transfer accelerator come to results of higher heat transfer enhancement. In this study, the P/e=8 can be seen the best thermal performance among the six pitch ratio investigated. and various turbulent models were adopted in this simulation.
