A microgripper using thermal actuator and SU-8 polymer was designed and fabricated to manipulate cells and microparts. A chip size of a microgripper was 3 ㎜ × 5 ㎜. The thermally actuated microgripper consisted of two couples of hot and cold arm actuators. The high thermal expansion coefficient, 52 ppm/℃, of SU-8 compared to silicon and metals, allows the actuation of the microgripper. Thickness and width of SU-8 as an end-effector were 26 ㎛ and 80 ㎛, respectively. Initial gap between left jaw and right jaw was 120 ㎛. The ANSYS program as FEM tool was introduced to analyze the thermal distribution and displacement induced by thermal actuators. XeF₂ gas was used for isotropic silicon dry etching process to release SU-8 end-effector. Mechanical displacements of the fabricated microgripper were measured by optical microscopy in the range of input voltage from 0 V to 2.5 V. The maximum displacement between two jaws of a microgripper Type OG 1_1 was 22.4 ㎛ at 2.5 V.

Objectives:The aim of this study was to examine attitudes of middle-school students toward happiness, suicide, and factors associated with suicide. Methods:A self-administered questionnaire was used in a cluster sample of 1,319 middle-school students (male 793, female 526). Data were obtained on a wide range of constructs regarding their attitude towards happiness, suicidal ideation and attempts, and factors associated with suicide. Results:Middle-school students choose ‘love within family’ as most important factor for their happiness. Subjective mental health status was mostly associated with happiness. Subjects in lower socioeconomic status tended to respond their mental health status was not good and have more suicidal idea. 48.7% of subjects had permissive attitudes toward suicide, especially, girls. However, 65.0% responded that suicide was preventable problem. Compared to older people, middle-school students perceived that environmental factors were more important than innate and personal factors for suicide. Conclusion:Results of the study indicate that middle-school students have permissive attitudes toward suicide, but positive attitudes for the prevention of suicide. This suggest that education in these age group could be effective for the prevention of suicide. Also, approaches to suicide prevention programs should be developed based on the family intervention. Especially, we should care about girls and adolescents in lower socioeconomic status.

This paper presents a motor selection technique for a manipulator design that is used in a multipurpose dog-horse robot. Since the dynamics of a manipulator and its servo drives are closely related to each other, it requires a repetitive analysis to determine a suitable motor. In order to simplify this procedure, Straete et al. proposed a simple normalization method to separate the load dependent terms and the motor dependent terms. This technique is adopted in this paper for selecting a motor in designing a manipulator.
액상촉매를 이용한 SO₂/NO 동시제거 공정의 최적화 연구

화석연료의 사용 증가로 인해 대기오염이 전지구적 차원에서 심각한 문제가 되고 있다. 특히 화석연료의 연소 시 발생되는 SOx, NOx는 다양한 문제를 발생시키기 때문에 발생을 저감시키는 것이 대기오염 관리에서 중요한 목적이 되고 있다. SOx, NOx를 제거하기 위한 다양한 공정이 개발되었으나 몇 가지 문제점들을 가지고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 연소가스 중에 포함되어 있는 SO₂/NO를 동시제거하기 위해 최적의 액상촉매 조성물, 농도 및 반응조건을 도출하는 데 있다. 다양한 금속염과 킬레이트 및 실험조건에 따른 가스의 제거효율을 살펴보았으며. 그 결과 철염과 EDTA를 선정할 수 있었으며 적정 농도는 각각 0.03 M이었다. 최적반응조건은 pH=8, Ca/S 당량비=1.5이었으며 O₂ 가스 농도는 낮을수록 유리하였다. 본 연구조건 하에서 촉매 성능을 증가시키기 위한 안정제 조성물과 농도는 ascorbic acid=0.024 M, adipic acid=0.024 M, sodium sulfite=0.09 M로 결정되었다. 다만 안정제의 농도가 본 연구의 조건보다 증가한다면 가스의 제거효율도 증가할 것으로 예상된다. With increasing use of fossil fuel, air pollution is becoming a serious problem in the world. Especially SOx and NOx, which are formed when fossil fuel burns, generate various problem and thus abatement of their emission is a major target in air pollution control. Various process have developed to remove SOx and NOx, but that has several disadvantage. This study aimed at selecting the optimum liquid catalyst component, concentration and reaction conditions for simultaneous removal of SO₂/NO in flue gas. It was that make on investigation into SO₂/NO simultaneous removal efficiencies using some metallic salts and chelates under various conditions, which optimum components were selected iron salts and EDTA and its concentrations were 0.03 M respectively. The optimum reaction conditions were pH=8.0, Ca/S equivalent ratio=1.5 and low O₂ concentration. Under the testing conditions of this study, additive component and concentration to increase performance of liquid catalyst were as follow: ascorbic acid=0.024 M, adipic acid=0.024 M and sodium sulfite=0.09 M. But SO₂/NO simultaneous removal efficiency would be increased if additive concentration was to increase in liquid catalyst.
컨테이너 선적계획 수립을 위한 최적 컨테이너 중량 배분 모형

Container weight is a key factor for the planning of loading and discharging of container to/from vessels as it directly related to the ship stability. Therefore, the optimal distribution of container weight through out a vessel should be achieved with respect to the proper trim and heeling and gravity moment(CM). This paper aims at developing a model for the optimal container weight allocation considering port of call, container type, size and weight. 컨테이너 적·양하 계획을 수립하는데 있어서 컨테이너 무게는 선박의 감항성과 직접 관련되는 주요 고려 요소이며, 선적계획을 수립할 때 최우선적으로 고려되어야 한다. 선적할 개별 컨테이너의 중량과 기 선적된 컨테이너 중량 분포를 고려하여 선박의 트림(trim) 및 힐링(heeling)을 적정하게 유지하고 적정 무게중심(GM)을 확보하는 것이 컨테이너 중량 배분의 목적이다. 본 논문은 선박의 기항 항만별 컨테이너 종류, 규격, 무게 들을 고려하여 컨테이너 중량을 최적으로 배분하는 모형을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하며, 중량 분포도 설정, 선박 안정성을 고려한 중량 배분 우선순위, 배분 모형 등을 포함한다.
