The number of public library in Korea has been increasing rapidly in recent years. These libraries are to serve wide range of citizens regardless of age, sex, nationality, and level of disability. While social interest toward Universal Design is increasing especially due to the fast rising of average age of our population, this study aims to evaluate the degree of universal design applied to our current public libraries and provide suggestions for improvement. Analysis was done on 8 public libraries located in Seongnam City, Kyunggi-do. The checklist was composed based mainly on 「Act on the Promotion and Guarantee of Access for the Disabled, the Aged, and Pregnant Women to Facilities and Information」and 「Checklist of Library Building Design Considerations」 by American Library Association. The analysis covered library-specific facilities including reading room, reference room, electronic information room, room for disabled, and classroom in addition to parking lot, restroom, cafeteria, and stairs/ramp/elevator. The result of the research shows the followings: first, the installation of the furniture with right spec and reception counter accessible by wheelchair user is important to provide equal environment. Secondly, the parties who plan and build barrier-free facilities on-site to meet Universal Design principles do need to understand first how the system works for the users who rely on it.

국내 공연장 연구의 건축적 접근에 대한 동향 고찰

The number of performing arts centers and that of people visiting the centers have been increasing consistently. So is the number of academic research papers related to performing arts centers. This Study concentrated on the preceding research analysis especially with architectural issues and tried to analyse its study trends. The findings are: First, the number of research paper has been increasing as the number of performing arts centers and that of audiences increase. Second, the research items with the most importance turned out to be stage and auditorium. Studies on backstage area for performers and staffs are showing numerical increment recently, but lobby and foyer for audiences and circulation system for different roles of people are still not being studied enough, relatively. Third, the number of research on performing arts centers with exclusive use - for instance, opera houses, concert halls, etc. - is increasing, compared to those with multi-purpose. As people's income rises and living environment gets advanced, it seems performing arts centers with better spatial and sound quality are being demanded. Finally, most of the researches have leant toward grand performance halls in size wise for their architectural subject. Mid and small sizes should also get academic attention since the number of those is much greater in reality.

광-펌핑 파장에 따른 Cd$_x$Zn$_{1-x}$Te 단결정의 THz 발진

We present a general phase-matching condition for the generation of a THz beam from Cd$_x$Zn$_{1-x}$Te single crystals. We show that the phase matching condition depends both on the phase velocity of the T-ray and the group velocity of the optical pumping beam. For various phase matching condition, we calculated the wavelength of the pumping beam of a femtosecond laser in order to generate a THz beam by using various $x$ of Cd$_x$Zn$_{1-x}$Te single crystals. This matching condition is used to explain the T-ray generation of ZnTe crystals for the 820 nm wavelength of the optical pumping beam. 펨토초 레이저의 광 펌핑 파장에 따른 Cd$_{x}$Zn$_{1-x}$Te 단결정에서 THz 발진 (T-Ray)의 위상정합 조건, 즉 T-ray의 위상속도와 펌핑빔 (pumping beam)의 군속도가 같아지는 조건으로부터, 단결정의 혼합 성분비와 맞는 펌핑 광의 파장을 계산하였고, 실제 ZnTe 단결정에 대하여 820 nm에서 THz발진이 가장 적합함을 설명하였다.

디지털 시대에서 정보디자인의 중요성은 하루가 다르게 발전과 진화를 거듭하고 있으며, 이에 따른 정보는 IT(Information Technology), 사회, 문화, 경제, 기술을 이끄는 핵심 용어가 된지 오래다. 정보의 형태는 컴퓨터를 비롯한 디지털 기술의 발전과 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있지만, 디지털 시대 이전의 문자 이전의 시대부터 인간은 기호와 문자를 국가 간, 인간관계에서의 커뮤니케이션을 위한 도구로 필요에 의해 지속적으로 증가해 왔으며, 20세기 중반 급속한 산업사회의 발전으로 인류가 다루는 정보의 양은 급격히 증대하고 컴퓨터와 네트워크의 출현으로 정보의 생산과 접근이 대중화와 분산화로 각기 발전하기에 이르렀다. 아날로스 시대를 지나 디지털시대에서의 정보디자인은 더욱더 체계적인 환경과 사용자를 중심으로 효율적으로 정보를 표현하고 수정하고 사용할 수 있는 원리와 지침이 필요하다고 본다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 게슈탈트 시지각 측면에서 브랜드 아이덴티티 연구를 통하여 정보의 수용자들에게 어떤 유의미한 정보를 제공하고 사용자들과 어떤 유의미한 관계를 유지하는지에 대하여 사례분석을 통하여 게슈탈트 법칙을 적용하여 기호학의 해석과 이해를 분석하고자 한다. 건설실패정보를 활용한 건설 프로세스의 지속적 개선 모델의 개념적 틀에 관한 연구

The construction failures can be decreased by continuously improving the construction process based upon the information of construction failures. Herein, the information of construction failures can be utilized as the key factor far identifying the ineffective process and providing the improved construction process that can prevent failures. The objective of this research is to suggest a model for improving construction process continuously by using the information of construction failures. An extended review and analysis of literatures related to the construction failure are performed to investigate the definition, type, cause, and lesson teamed of failure. This research also identifies that process modeling methodology and case-based reasoning are applicable to the construction process improvement, and then it suggests a framework of CIMCP(continuous improvement model of construction process based on the module of case-based reasoning such as case retrieval, case index, and case adaptation. 건설실패정보는 건설실패를 야기한 업무 프로세스를 파악하고, 건설실패를 예방할 수 있는 향상된 프로세스를 제공하는 핵심 요인이 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 건설실패정보를 활용하여, 건설실패의 재발을 예방할 수 있는 건설 프로세스의 지속적 개선 모델의 개념적 틀을 제시하였다. 문헌연구를 통해 건설실패의 정의, 유형, 원인 및 교훈 등의 건설실패정보에 대한 개념을 정립하였다. 또한 건설실패정보에 프로세스 재설계 방법론 및 사례기반추론기법을 적용하여 프로세스 개선에의 적용가능성을 확인하였고, 사례기반추론기법의 주요 모듈인 사례검색, 사례색인 및 사례적응을 이용한 건설 프로세스의 지속적 개선 모델의 개념적 틀을 제시하였다.
