        분리된 시금치 엽록체에서 광합성중 광합성능이 소실되는 이유

        CO_2 fixation of isolated intact spinach chloroplasts under saturating light began to decrease after 20 min, and stopped completely after 1 h. To identify the lesion sites for the die off, reconstituted chloroplast system was used with chloroplasts collected at several phases of time course. CO_2 fixation was inhibited in the reconstituted chloroplasts made of thylakoids and stroma in the later phases, but showed a higher degree of inhibitio by the participation of thylakoids than that of stroma in the later phases. Measurement of photophosphrylation and NADP reduction revealed that a severed thylakoidal damage was occurred at the later phases. This results indicate that the lesion sites for the die off are in the thylakoid.

        유채 (油菜) 하배축 (下胚軸) 분절의 신장과 세포벽 분해효소의 활성에 미치는 IAA 의 효과

        Effects of IAA on the elongation and cell wall glycosidase activities were investigated in excised rape (Brassica napus L. cv. Yongdang) hypocotyl segments. IAA promoted the elongation of rape hypocotyl segments. In rape hypocotyls, the first 10-㎜ segments from the hook exhibited maximal elongation and the capacity of elongation was gradually decreased with increasing distance of each 10-㎜ from the hook. A good correlation has been obtained between the magnitude of endogenous growth and the activities of α, β-glucosidase and α, β-galactosidase. However,exogenous application of IAA did not seem to enhance the activities of these four glycosidases in rape hypocotyl segments. Treatment of the tissue with IAA resulted in acidification of the incubation medium. From these data, we can conclude that IAA seems to enhance elongation of the tissue segments, at least in part, by releasing hydrogen ion into the cell wall, some of which may participate in the cell wall extension process, but does not seem to trigger the activation of α, β-glucosidase and α, β-glucosidase.

        동결 동종골의 구조적 삽입을 이용한 거골하 신연 유합술

        Purpose: Subtalar distraction arthrodesis is useful treatment option for restore hindfoot alignment. but, using structural autograft have high risk of donor site morbidity. Recently, by replacing the structural allograft has been reported satisfactory clinical results. Therefore, the authors reviewed the results of subtalar distraction arthrodesis using a structural allograft, retrospectively. Materials and Methods: From January 2008 to May 2010, 12 patients (12 feets; 9 male, 3 female) underwent subtalar distraction arthrodesis using frozen structural allograft. 9 cases were calcaneal malunion, 2 were nonunion or malunion after subtalar arthrodesis, 1 was other cause. Mean age was 38.9 (12~66) years old and follow up period was 16.5 (12~36) months. Surgical was performed with posterolateral approach and tricortical allobone block of frozen femoral neck was used. Analysis was done with retorspective manner to evaluate preoperative, postoperative, and final follow up radiologic measurement and AOFAS ankle-hindfoot scale. Results: There was statistically significant increase (p<0.05) of ankle-hindfoot scale from preoperative 27.5 points to postoperative 72.5 points, talocalcaneal height by 6.62 mm, calcaneal pitch angle by 5.73 degrees, lateral talocalcaneal angle by 6.38 degrees and significant decrease (p<0.05) of tali-1st metatarsal angle by 5.23 degrees. 11 feet (91.7%) acquired bony union and it takes average 5.1 months. Final post-operative result revealed talocalcaneal height changed by 2.57 mm, calcaneal pitch anble, lateral talocalcaneal angle, talar-1st metatarsal angle were changed by 2.63 degrees, 1.62 degrees, 1.18 degrees, respectively (p<0.05). 3 cases of partial osteonecrosis of posterior facet of calcaneus were observed in operation field, 4 cases of complication were developed (1 case of nonunion, 1 collapse of allobone graft, 1 screw loosening, 1 superficial skin necrosis). Conclusion: Subtalar distraction arthrodesis using frozen structural allobone graft is useful alternative treatment method of arthrodesis with structural autobone graft.

      • 이중 다발 전방십자 재건술 후 이식건의 자기공명영상 추시와 슬관절 안정성과의 관계

        목적: 이중 다발 전방십자인대 재건술 후 이식건의 자기공명영상(magnetic resonance imaging, MRI) 추시 소견과 안정성과의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 1.5 테슬라 자기공명영상을 이용하였으며, 이식건의 신호 강도는 Sonoda 등의 분류를 이용하여 1, 2, 3 등급으로 분류하였고, 주행은 직선과 곡선으로 분류하였다. 전방 안정성은 Lachman, KT 관절계, $30^{\circ}$ 전방 전위 방사선 검사로, 회전 안정성은 pivot shift 검사로 평가하였다. 이식건의 자기공명영상 소견과 안정성의 상관 관계를 평가하였다. 결과: 신호 강도는 전내측 다발이 1 등급 66.7%, 2 등급 26.7%, 3 등급 6.7%였고, 후외측 다발이 1 등급 63.3%, 2 등급 33.3%, 3 등급 3.3%였다. 주행은 전내측 다발이 직선 83.3%, 곡선 16.7%였고, 후외측 다발이 직선 86.7%, 곡선 13.3%였다. 전내측 다발의 주행은 전방 안정성과 관련이 있었고, 후외측 다발의 주행은 회전 안정성과 관련이 있었다. 신호 강도는 안정성과 관련이 없었다. 결론: 이중 다발 전방 십자 인대 재건술 후 이식건의 자기공명영상 추시 소견과 안정성과의 관계에서 전방 안정성 면에서는 전내측 다발의 주행이, 회전 안정성 면에서는 후외측 다발의 주행이 관련이 있었다. Purpose: This study examined the relationship between graft appearance on follow-up magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and knee stability after double bundle anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Materials and Methods: For each patient, 1.5 tesla MRI's were obtained. The signal intensity of grafts was divided into 3 grades by Sononda's classification. The course of grafts was divided into two patterns: straight and curved. We assessed Lachman test, KT 2000 arthrometer and anterior drawer stress radiograph using Telos$^{(R)}$ in $30^{\circ}$ knee flexion for anterior stability and evaluated pivot shift test for rotatory stability. The correlation between graft appearance on MRI and the results of knee stability tests was evaluated. Results: The anteromedial (AM) graft was evaluated as being grade 1 in 66.7%, grade 2 in 26.7%, and grade 3 in 6.7% of the cases and the posterolateal (PL) graft was assessed as being grade 1 in 63.3%, grade 2 in 33.3%, and grade 3 in 3.3% of the cases according to the signal intensity. The AM graft was evaluated as being straight in 83.3% and curved in 16.7% of the cases, and the PL graft was assessed as being straight in 86.7% and curved in 13.3% of the cases according to the course. The course of AM graft was correlated with the results of anterior stability tests and the course of PL graft was correlated with the result of rotatory stability test. However, the signal intensity of grafts was not correlated with the results of anterior stability and rotatory stability tests. Conclusion: The course of AM is correlated with anterior stability and the course of PL is correlated with rotatory stability on follow-up MRI after double bundle ACL reconstruction.

        비장동맥류의 임상적 경험

        Purpose: Splenic artery aneurysm is uncommon, but the increased frequency in use of arteriography, computed tomography, and ultrasonography has resulted in increasing clinical recognition of these lesions. This paper relates our experience in the outcome and management of aneurysms of the splenic artery. Methods: From January 1992 to October 1999, 12 patients were diagnosed with splenic artery aneurysms. They were retrospectively anslyzed. Results: The male to female ratio was 1: 4 and the mean age was 46.3 years. The mean of pregnancy history of all women was 3.0 and there were no pregnant women during operation. The associated diseases that might have caused the aneurysms were pancreatitis in 5 patients, portal hypertension in 1, operative trauma in 1, and ill defined pathogenesis in 5 patients. The size of the aneurysms was larger than 2 cm in all patients. The splenic artery aneurysms was located at distal in 9 patients, mid in 1, and proximal in 2 patients. 7 patients were treated surgically (aneurysmectomy without splenectomy in 1 patient, aneurysmectomy with splenectomy in 6 patients). Transcatheter embolization was used in 4 patients. One of them was treated with distal pancreatectomy after two months because of pancreatic pseudocyst. One patient without treatment died 2 years after diagnosis. Conclusion: Althougb surgery remains necessary in splenic artery aneurysms larger than 2 cm, transcatheter embolization is effective in initial treatment of the high risk group in splenic artery aneurysms.
