The Korea Energy Agency is implementing Building Energy Efficiency Certification for building energy management. KEA estimates CO₂ emission and energy consumption for heating, cooling and hot water supply of a buildings based on their design documents and issue certification ranging. and an energy simulation program based on ISO13790 is used for the certification system.(ECO2-OD, ECO-CE3) However, the simulation program does not take into account the operational status of existing buildings. Therefore, a calculation method that reflects the operational characteristics of the existing building facilities system is needed. In this paper, we compare the energy consumption of existing buildings with the existing building simulation model including the part load efficiency of the facility system. we also analyzed the effect of the part load efficiency data on the energy consumption patterns of existing buildings. Existing buildings are buildings for sale facilities. and the simulation program used for energy consumption prediction was Design builder. Finally, to evaluate the performance of the heating and cooling system of buildings, we compared the case where the rated efficiency was applied and the case where the partial load efficiency was applied.
Loss Estimation of Steel Pipeline Damage in Los Angeles Using GIS

Steel Pipelines were located in hillside and mountain areas where landslides occurred during the Northridge earthquake. This paper describes the investigations that were performed to identify and locate the different types of steel pipeline construction in the system using GIS (Geographical Information System). The paper explores the damage correlations of steel pipelines with PGV (peak ground velocity) and investigates the areas subjected to the landslide effects during the Northridge earthquake. One noticeable finding is that the repair rates for steel distribution pipelines after the Northridge earthquake are higher than those of CI (cast iron) pipelines. The relatively high susceptibility of steel piping to damage during the Northridge earthquake may be explained in part by utility practices, such as using steel pipe for the highest internal pressures, and increased susceptibility to corrosion also appears to play a role in steel pipeline performance.
