In this paper, we propose a novel approach for real-time 3D indoor scene reconstruction using normal vectors extracted from monocular images. By incorporating normal features, it aims to enhance the surface reconstruction process, capturing finer texture details compared to existing methods. The estimation of normal maps is achieved through a network-based approach, leveraging pixel-wise surface normal probability distributions to estimate uncertainties in the normal estimation. Subsequently, the extracted normal features are fused with color features using an appropriate fusion technique tailored to preserve texture information effectively. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in achieving superior surface reconstruction quality, particularly in capturing smoother and more detailed textures on surfaces such as walls and floors. This suggests that supplementing normal information compensates for the lack of detailed texture information in conventional models, thereby improving overall reconstruction quality.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of integrating rhythmic exercises into dribble training to enhance dribbling skills and to explore the potential of a new training method to complement and improve existing approaches. A total of 56 middle school students residing in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, including both males and females, were divided into experimental and control groups for data collection. The data analysis for this study was conducted using IBM STATISTICS SPSS 27.0 program. Independent t-test and three-way Mixed ANOVA (2×2×2) were performed to examine the changes in basketball dribbling skills based on gender and the presence of rhythmic training. Statistical significance was evaluated for interactions between gender, rhythmic training, and time, with a significance level set at α=.05. The results indicate that the experimental group, which received dribble training integrated with rhythmic exercises, showed significant improvements in dribbling skills compared to the control group following conventional training. Particularly noteworthy enhancements were observed in the accuracy, speed, and timing maintenance aspects of dribbling. The experimental group expressed high satisfaction with the training, and many participants recognized an improvement in their dribbling skills after the training period. These findings suggest that incorporating rhythmic exercises into training is an effective method for enhancing dribbling skills.
Environmental Investigation of a Long-term Care Hospital with Respect to COVID-19

Objectives: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) first emerged in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and has rapidly become a global pandemic with over 26.4 million confirmed cases and approximately 871,000 fatalities worldwide as of this writing. In the Republic of Korea, disease clusters frequently occurred in long-term care hospitals where the majority of residents are elderly with underlying medical conditions. Despite the fact that public health authorities and local community health centers have put tremendous efforts into preventing the spread of disease, positive cases have continued to occur. Thus, the Korea Centers for Disease Control & Prevention rapid response team decided to conduct an environmental investigation of a long-term care hospital to identify whether environmental contamination has remained and contributed to the spread of COVID-19. Methods: An environmental investigation was conducted at Hospital A. The characteristics of the facility and its HVAC system were assessed by checking the layout and interviewing the people in charge. A total of 64 surface samples were collected from areas of concern, including patient rooms, toilets, elevators, and nurses’ station. These samples were tested by a regional health and environmental research institute using real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Results: All samples from Hospital A were confirmed to be negative. Through interviews with high-level personnel at the regional community health center, we found that extensive disinfection is frequently performed on potentially contaminated areas in Hospital A in accordance with government guidelines. Conclusion: The environmental control measures implemented in Hospital A had been sufficient for mitigating the risk of further infection, suggesting that such measures may also be effective for other long-term health care facilities.

The aim of this study was to verify the effectiveness of establishing and operating a Korea National Sport University Living Lab for providing community-based lumbar rehabilitation services using an AI-based personalized exercise rehabilitation service technology called ARES (AI-based Rehabilitation Exercise Service). To achieve this research objective, a single-group pre-post design was employed. The participants were adults aged 40 years and older with lumbar disorders who had been recommended for physical activity by their doctors, were suitable for exercise rehabilitation program application, and were capable of participating in the study. A total of 61 individuals who met these criteria were initially recruited, and after 7 individuals withdrew from the study, the final analysis was conducted on 54 participants (age: 60.0 ± 5.9 years). Rehabilitation exercises for low back pain based on ARES were conducted over a period of 24 sessions. Before and after the intervention, functional capacity for patients with low back pain, health-related quality of life, activation capacity of transverse abdominal muscle, and physical fitness (lower limb function, balance, flexibility) were measured. The collected data were analyzed using Jamovi 2.3. Paired t-tests were employed to assess differences in the observed changes. The results confirmed improvements in functional capacity, health-related quality of life, transverse abdominal muscle activation capacity, lower limb function, balance, and flexibility among patients with low back pain who participated in the KNSU Living Lab. Therefore, It was effective in improving the participant’s functional ability in patients with back pain and physical fitness.
