Percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy (PDT) has become an increasingly popular method of establishing an airway for patients in need of chronic ventilator assistance. We report a rare case of a 42-year-old female who developed extensive subcutaneous emphysema, bilateral pneumothoraces, pneumomediastinum, and pneumoperitoneum after percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy. The patient suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and underwent PDT after a period of mechanical ventilation. During PDT, tracheostomy tube was inserted into the paratracheal space. Follow-up chest radiography and computed tomography of chest and abdomen revealed extensive subcutaneous emphysema, bilateral pneumothoraces, pneumomediastinum, and pneumoperitoneum. The patient was treated successfully with insertion of the thoracostomy tube and conservative care.

Postmeningitic ossified cochlea was previously thought to be a contraindication of cochlear implantation due to the difficulties of electrodes insertion. However, it becomes to be generally accepted that insertion of electrode in an ossified cochlea can be successful and safe. Several methods for insertion of electrode in an ossified or inflamed cochlea after meningitis have been suggested. Here, we report another method of electrode insertion into a partially ossified cochlea during the cochlear implantation surgery in a postmeningitic deafened patient. A 62-year-old man complaining of bilateral severe hearing impairment after meningitis showed partial obliteration of cochlea bilaterally on imaging studies. We could successfully insert active electrode with guidance of dummy electrode and via extended cochleostomy. Surgical technique and result was introduced with a review of literature.

Chordoma is a rare tumor derived from the remnants of the notochord. Chordomas are second most commonly discorvered within the Skull base/Clivus. Clivus chordoma presents as nasopharyngeal mass can be mistaken for primary benign nasopharyngeal mass. To minimize delay in diagnosis, nasopharyngeal extension of Clivus chordoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of any mass forming lesion in nasopharynx.

The first dance dertment was founded in Ewha women's university in 1963. After that, the university dance department and the population of dance were more increased. Many universities have played important roles in development of dance in korea. Accordingly, the recognitition for the dance art is being improved gradually. Dance, like other science, needs systematic theory and practical talent as art, and it should take its place as science in the university curriculum. There fore, it is wished that the urgency of expanding the quality of university dance education should be recognized and the university dance department should establish its objective value system by obtaining the whole fields. In this study, upon conparing the universities' system in korea to the universities' system in U.S.A, lobserved some points of issues. To compare the curriculum, credits, academic & technique courses, organiz ation at universities of both countries. there is net big academic & technique courses difference. However, to compare the curriculum and department of the university in K orea to the university in USA, there are some points of issues in the university in Korea; 1) Nosubdivided, unified and generalized curriculum, 2) No concentrated curriculum for cultivating the professional dance educator and director. The big feature of curriculum at the university in Korea is to educate in majohng Korean traditional and modern dance. The feature of curriculum at the university in USA is that upon each assigned department, there is educational purpose and an option for each student to choose each course depending on one's level, ability and will. Therefore, it is very important not only to have korean, Modern, and Ballet techniques, but also to divided the curriculum to cultivate the dance professionalism, such as technique curhculum of becoming a dance theorist, dance scholar, dance director, dance educator, dance performer, and academic curriculuml of dance story, society, esthetics, ethics culture Also, after graduating. the Physical Educator Certification is necessa to be changed to the Dance Educator Certification Judging from the above results, Korean universities should heighten their status in the world through the systemic establishment of university dance department and the execution ef professional education, and the meaning or value of dance education with nationality should be clarified through studies of the value of ours. When these are done, the dance education which is expecting 2000s will take its firm position as which can contribute to human society as a genuine art education.

This thesis aims to consider the syllubus of the creative dancing to illustrate ite importance in the point of the college education of dancing and to find the effective method to teach the creative dancing. The conclusions this study arrived at are following; 1. The crux of dancing in college education lies in the courses of the creative dancing. 2. Thus we have to put much emphasis on the creative dancing. 3. The syllubus of the creative dancing has to be carried out to the following steps ; (A) body design (B) expression by the contrast themes, (C) application of movement, (D) improvisation, (E) creation by themes. 4. The teacher's role is very important in carrying out the syllubus. The teacher has to help students to express their creative dancing and to connect their knowlege with the creativity. 5. The teacher has to consider the student's ages, educational surroun dings and individual differences when he applies the creative dancing to each class flexibly. 6. The teacher has to develop and apply the concrete syllubus suitable to the student's abilities and ages.
