The modern day architectural giant, Maki Fumihiko, has lived through both the early and the more recent modernism, Contemporary. In the 1950's he was faithful to the spirit that was founded on the early modernity, Metabolism. In his later years in the 2000's, his style can be distinguished into Neo-Modernism which was based on local influence. The educational system at Washington University and the modern city of Saint Louis carries the continuation of Fumihiko Maki's early and later architectural career. Steinberg Hall and Kemper Art Museum have been built adjacent to each other in an extended period of time. These two projects encompass the changes in the era that has gone through modernism, transformation of an architect's career, and the maturation of the university. Steinberg Hall carries the ideal and the spirit of young Fumihiko Maki, therefore, the basic platform of experimentation of the early Metabolist has been applied. Spatial theory that concentrates on the integration of relations is also evident in this project. In contrast, Kemper Art Museum expresses the work of a 78 year-old veteran from the perspective of Neo-Modernism. This piece focuses on the internal space through the coexistence of a variety of space, and with that it notably interprets the integration of the pieces to the whole as a set theory. The partial change that we see is the evidence of the change in the early and the later modernism, while maintaining the innocence and the spirit of it. This is to highlight the fact that, ultimately, the goal of architecture is to secure the human race's honesty and their freedom expressed through space.

$Cu(In_{1-x},Ga_x)Se_2$ thin films have been considered as an effective absorber material for high efficient solar cells. In this paper, the CIGS thin films with varied Ga content were prepared using a co-evaporation process of three stage. We carry out structure and electrical optical property on the thin film in varied Ga content. CIGS thin films have been characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS), four-point probe measurement, and the Hall measurement. To optimize Ga contents, Ga/(In+Ga) ratio were changed from 0.13 to 0.72. At this time the carrier concentrations were varied from $1.22{\times}10^{11}\;cm^{-3}$ to $5.07{\times}10^{16}\;cm^{-3}$, and electrical resistivity were varied from $1.11{\times}10^0\;{\Omega}-cm$ to $1.08{\times}10^2\;{\Omega}-cm$. A strong <220/204> orientation and a lager grain size were obtained at a Ga/(In+Ga) of 0.3. We were able to achieve conversion efficiency as high as 15.95% with a Ga/(In+Ga) of 0.3.

The Olin Library in St. Louis was an important design competition for the United States in the 1950's, the rear of America's modern architecture. The participants of this competition were a variety of representative architects and groups of its time. With the library's functional rationality, the Olin Library competition was legible of the aspects of modern architectural flow. The competition required two demands. The first demand was absolute importance in character definition of place, which was to satisfy the site conditions approached from campus design. Secondly was related to interpretation of morphological symbolism in an architectural matter. The experiments of American modern architecture started to change its ideal goal gradually ; accommodating the altering public's code, at the same time, maintaining the original modern value was the reason to changing the ideal goal. As a turning point, the Olin Library should be understood as an important work, which divulged the value change of architectural interpretation.

건축설계사무소가 대형화되고, 기업형 설계를 표방하는 사무실이 늘어감에 따라 디자인을 결정함에 있어 디자인을 결정하는 방식이 다양해지고 있다. 과거 소규모 설계사무소들의 의사 결정 방법이 소장 중심으로 디자인을 진행했다면 대형 설계사무소에서는 소장 중심의 일방적 디자인 결정이 아닌 다양한 방법으로 디자인을 결정해나간다. 특히 대형 설계사무소 수주의 대부분이 현상이나 턴키 등 경쟁 프로젝트를 통해 이루어지는데 이런 경쟁프로젝트의 진행에 있어 디자인 결정은 프로젝트의 당락에 미치는 영향이 크다. 이에 본 논문은 ① 대형 설계사무소의 다양한 디자인 의사 결정 방법을 알아보고, ② 이러한 디자인 의사 결정 방법을 유형별로 구분, 그 유형별 특성들을 파악하여 ③ 디자인 의사 결정 유형이 프로젝트 디자인의 만족도에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하고, 나아가 ④ 바람직한 디자인 의사 결정 방법이 무엇인지를 검증하는 것이 본 논문의 목적이다. 본 논문은 디자인 의사 결정 방법에 대한 기초적 연구로써 추후 디자인 의사 결정 방법과 디자인 생산과정과의 상관관계, 경쟁프로젝트에 미치는 영향 등 후속 연구가 뒷받침되어야할 것이다. As architectural design firm has became bigger and the firm which is named by coorperation, there are various design decisions when the firm decided the design. Design decision in small architectural office was decided the design by the owner`s suggestion in the past, it is decided by various way in present. Especially, most projects` orders which were by design competition are affected by design decision. so the purpose of this study was to search various ways of design decision, grasp the characteristic of design decision type, study the effects of design satisfaction by design decision, and the find of the right way of design decision. This is the basic study so the study which will study more detail such as relationship between design decision and design productive, the effects of competition project and so on.
