We propose an individual identification method using a single-lead electrocardiogram signal. In this paper, lead I ECG is measured from subjects in various physical and psychological states. We performed a noise reduction for lead I signal as a preprocessing stage and this signal is used to acquire the representative beat waveform for individuals by utilizing the ensemble average. From the P-QRS-T waves, features are extracted to identify individuals, 19 using the duration and amplitude information, and 16 from the QRS complex acquired by applying Pan-Tompkins algorithm to the ensemble averaged waveform. To analyze the effect of each feature and to improve efficiency while maintaining the performance, Relief-F algorithm is used to select features from the 35 features extracted. Some or all of these 35 features were used in the support vector machine (SVM) learning and tests. The classification accuracy using the entire feature set was 98.34%. Experimental results show that it is possible to identify a person by features extracted from limb lead I signal only.

The introduction of Connected and Automated(CAD) technology has a growing interests especially in areas with low demand for transport, where often the local transport services do not connect to peripheral areas for more efficient and convenient mobility services. However, there are few researches on CAD-based mobility services in areas with low demand for transport. Because current researches are mainly focuses on introduction of CAD-based mobility services in area with high demand for transport such as urban and highway. These two areas have different road environments and these differences require different driving technology especially related to Operational Design Domain(ODD). ODD is important factors for introduction of CAD-based mobility services. Therefore, we compare the road environments of areas with low demand for transport and areas with high demand for transport in terms of ODD. In addition, this paper proposes suggest guidance for the introduction of CAD-based mobility services in areas with low demand for transport such as rural and suburban areas.

HCI 분야에서 노인에 대한 연구들은 많이 수행되어 왔다. 특히 노인을 대상으로 하는 제품이나 서비스에 대한 경험을 분석하고 평가하는 연구나 스마트폰을 활용하는 노인에 대한 연구가 주를 이루는데, 이때 연구대상이 노인이기 때문에 겪는 애로사항들이 있다고 선행연구들은 지적한다. 기존의 HCI 연구들에서 종종 사용하였던 연구 방법들을 노인을 대상으로 적용하기에 여러 한계점이 있고, 노인의 특성에 따른 유의점이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 한계점과 유의점들을 연구방법에 따라 정리하고, 이를 기반으로 HCI 관점에서 실증적인 노인 연구를 수행하는 데 있어서 유용한 가이드라인을 제안하고자 하였다. 따라서 앞으로 노인연구를 진행하는 연구자들에게 불필요한 시행착오를 줄이고 시간과 비용을 절약할 수 있도록 도움을 주고자 한다. There are many studies about older people in HCI area. It is abundant that analyzing and evaluating user experience of a product or service for elders and especially for who use a smartphone recently. But those previous studies mentioned that there are some problems because of research target. High-quality data from these participants requires different way in research methods. In this paper, methodological experiences from various type of studies with older are reported. It concludes with some guidelines for maximizing outcomes of research with older adults so that it could save unnecessary cost and trial and errors.
“웬만하면 걷지”: 노인을 위한 보행자용 길 찾기 서비스 제안

본 연구는 정보사회의 불평등으로 정보 소외 현상을 겪는 노인의 정보격차 해소와 정보 활용 수준을 높이고자 노인을 위한 보행자용 길 찾기 서비스를 제안하고자 하였다. 노인의 전반적인 보행 경험요소를 도출하기 위해 Field Study 를 수행하여 총 14 개의 경험요소를 도출하고, 노인의 사용경험 제고를 위한 To-do 리스트와 함께 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 제공하였다. In this paper, we suggest guidelines to help develop pedestrian navigation specialized for elder citizens. By conducting a field study, we found Fourteen constructs from the elders’ everyday walking experiences based on their pedestrian navigations. From these constructs, we propose a to-do list to improve the elders’ user experiences for the navigation and provide a new question to explore further.
