Two ectomycorrhizal fungi, Pisolithus tinctorius and Thelephora terrestris, were introduced form U.S.A. and inoculated to five pine species in Korea to evaluate the reported growth stimulation of host plants after inoculation. These fungi were grown as mycelial inoculum in large quantity and ioculated to the fumigated nursery soil just before seed sowing. At the end of the first growing season. Pisolithus stimulated the height growth of Pinus densiflora. P. thunbergii. P. rigida, and P. rigida x teada by55, 36, 69, and 37%, respectively, compared with control seedlings with no fumigation and no inoculation. When the growth stimulation was expressed with dry weight, Pisolithus increased dry weight of P. densiflora and P. rigida x taeda by 143% and 128%, respectively,over control seedling. Thelephora failed to stimulate growth of inoculated plants. Pinus koraiensis did not respond to the inoculation during the first growing season. It is concluded that artificial inoculation of nursery pine trees with selected mycorrhizal fungi should be seriously considered to improve the quality of planting stocks and to stimulate early plant growth. The potential for use of Pisolithus in reforestation on adverse sited is also discussed

This paper deals with the vibration and noise characteristics of three different kinds of pipe structures (PVC pipe, cast-iron pipe and newly developed pp pipe). In order to measure the structure born noise, an impact force generated by dropping a small ball was applied to three different kinds of pipes. It was confirmed that the structure born noise could be reduced by employing a high damping material. Also, transmission loss of a pipe was investigated for various frequency ranges by using a speaker as a sound source.

When the motion of vibrating structure is restrained by the adjacent objects, its vibration frequencies and mode shapes are changed. In general, the vibration characteristics of the system becomes unpredictable. Although the importance of the study on this type of vibration model increases in many engineering areas, most studies conducted to date were focused to the theoretical study on dynamic responses of the structure with stops, including a few experimental works. Specially, the study on the nonlinear phenomena due to the impact between a structure and stops have been mainly performed theoretically. It is, therefore, desired to find a way to have a better understanding on the vibration characteristics caused by the impact of a structure to stops. In the paper, both numerical analyses and experiments are conducted for a fixed-free beam that is restrained by the stops at the free end. The chaotic vibration characteristics of the nonlinear motion and the dynamic response of the system are investigated and presented for various magnetic forces between stops.

본 논문에서는 포플러가 안고 있는 문제를 여러 측면에서 논의하였다. 버드나무 속에 속하는 Salix glandulosa Seem., S. koreensis Ander, S. pseudo-lasiogyne Lev., S. koriyangi Kimura & Gortz 등 고유수종의 경제성, 풍치성의 중요성에 주안점을 두었다. S babylonica L., S. matsudana는 조경수로서 높은 가치를 인정 받았으며, 한국에서 재래종인 Chosenia bracteosa는 한반도의 최북동지역으로 분포지역이 제한되어 있다. 한국의 고유종인 사시나무속에서 주의를 끄는 것은 Populus davidiana Dode., P. glandulosa Uyeki는 Leuce Section에 P. maximowiczii Henry, P. koreana Rehder와 P. simonii Carl등의 3종은 Tacamaha section에 포함되었다. P. nigra var. italica Duroi와 P. deltoides ssp. monilifera는 1908년에서 1934년 사이에 blcak poplar가 1억2천주가 식재되었는데 Lambaby poplar는 대부분 가로수로 식재되었다. 1950년대 후반에는 소위 이태리포플러로 불리는 개량된 포플러 P x euramericana cv. 'I-214'와 'I-476'은 1962년 이후로 전국에 광범위하게 식재되어 소개되었다. 이 이태리포플라 식재는 식재면적의 한계와 농경지 이용등의 논란으로 갑자기 중단되었던 바 이에 따른 대책이 요구된다.

Vegetational data obtained from 15 quadrats of Mt. Daeam area were analysed by applying two multivariate methods: two-way indicator species analysis(TWINSPAN) for classification and detrended canonical correspondence analysis(DCCA) for ordination. The dominant tree species were Quercus mongolica, Acer pseudo-sieboldianum, Betula costata, and Acer mono in descending order. The pH ranges were 5.0 to 5.5 in the 15 sites near bog and 5.3 to 5.4 in the 3 sites within bog. The forest communities in Mt. Daeam were classified into Quercus mongolica-Acer mono, Quercus mongolica-Prunus sargentii, Quercus mongolica-Abies nephrolepis-Acer tschonoskii var, rubripes, and Quercus mongolica-Abies nephrolepis-Betula costata according to the TWINSPAN. The relationships between the distribution of dominant species of forest vegetation and soil in the forest of Mt. Daeam were investigated by analyzing soil nutrition gradient. Quercus mongolica-Prunus sargentii forests were distributed in the good sites in nutrition levels of total nitrogen. cation exchange capacity. Mg^++ and Ca^++ but Quercus mongolica-Abies nephrolepis-Betula costata forests in the poor sites in the nutrition levels.
