Exceeding the speed limit during vehicle driving is a key factor in the severity of lots of road accidents, and SLIF(Speed Limit Information Function) application is in the initial phase in Korea. SLIF helps the drivers to observe a speed limit when they are driving by providing alert and informing the current limit speed information based on external data using camera and/or digital map, for that reason, environmental conditions could be causes of SLIF malfunctions. In this study, design adequacy analysis of SLIF in respect of false recognition as the Korea traffic environment has been performed. As tentative results, road conditions and structure of speed limit sign as well as system performance often caused misrecognition.
iGLAD 사고 분류 유형을 이용한 자전거 탑승자 교통사고 분석

This paper reports an analysis of cyclist accident cases with respect to passenger vehicles on Korean roads. A typology based on Initiative for the Global Harmonization of Accident Data (iGLAD) code book is applied to a traffic accident analysis system(TAAS), which has the real-world crash data on Korea roads, to understand the accident scenarios in more detail and efficiently. Similarly this typology has been used for Germany In-Depth Accidents Study (GIDAS) as well. The accident data analysis with consideration of the typology of Korean road conditions may prioritize traffic safety issues regarding cyclists and is aimed to develop an Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system for cyclist. In summary, this paper characterizes and analyzes the scenarios of cyclist crashes with passenger car. The most common accident scenarios on Korean roads are Car-to-Bicyclist Nearside Adult (CBNA) and Car-to-Bicyclist Longitudinal Adult (CBLA), which are more than 86% of total accidents cases. Therefore, it is inferred that AEB cyclist system should include these accident types in the operational design domain to reduce more fatality in Korea.

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause (70%) of children injury and fatality. 98% of Children under the age of 9 who came to emergency room with a traffic accident are not seated in CRS. Reduction in mortality when using CRS (NHTSA study), 71% for infants of 1-2 years old, 54% for 3-6 years old and 7-12 years old. It is very important and essential to use CRS for child passenger safety. But in Korean market, the CRS fitment rate is relatively low (20~40%). For European market, at the start of 2013, Euro NCAP started to check how easy it is to install the most common seats. And US market, NHTSA is planning a new consumer information program of CRS fitment for near future. This study examines CRS installation performance of 3 vehicles which are produced by GM Korea and 21 CRS which are based on sales volume in Korean market. Purpose of this study is to identify both vehicle and CRS design that causes bad interaction for CRS installation.
부여 능산리 서고분군 1·2호분 내벽의 과학적 조사를 통한 벽화 존재 유무 연구

부여 능산리 서고분군 1, 2호분의 석실내부 벽화의 존재 여부를 확인하기 위하여 육안조사와 현장에서의 현미경 관찰, 형광X선분석을 수행하고, 일부 채취 시료에 대한 X선회절분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 1호분은 석벽의 표면 마무리 상태가 거칠고, 현실 천정을 제외한 부위에서는 벽화의 어떠한 흔적도 관찰되지 않았다. 또한 현실 천정에서는 석재와는 다른 색의 흑색 물질이 관찰되는데, 이 부분의 경우에도 표면부와 표면을 살짝 긁어내어 드러난 내부가 동일한 육안적 특징을 보이며, 이 부분에서 채취한 시료에서 흑운모가 주된 광물로 동정되어 먹 등 인위적 물질을 칠한 것이 아니라 석벽의 구성광물인 것으로 확인되었다. 2호분의 경우 내부 동, 서, 북의 석벽 표면에서 백색물질이 관찰되며, 이 물질에 대한 분석 결과 석회(Calcite)로 확인되어 벽화의 존재가 의심되었다. 그러나 석회층이 동벽의 현실입구와 연도부분에 집중되어 있으며, 북벽과 서벽의 경우에는 단지 하부에서만 집중적으로 관찰되었다. 또한 동벽의 현실입구와 연도부분의 석회물질은 그 분포 형태가 도굴 갱으로 유입된 흙이 쌓인 흔적과 상응하고 있어 2호분 내벽의 석회물질은 외부의 흙과 석회가 유입되어 형성된 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 천장과 사면의 석판틈새에서 확인되는 메움 물질은 분석 결과 니질의 토양으로 석벽 표면에 존재하는 석회와는 다른 물질로 확인되었다. 만약 벽화를 조성할 목적으로 석벽표면에 석회층을 인위적으로 형성한 것이라면 석판틈새 매움 물질도 석회를 사용하는 것이 더 자연스러웠을 것이다. 이러한 점으로 보아 능산리 2호분의 현실과 연도의 내벽에도 벽화는 없는 것으로 판단된다. Inner walls of the stone chamber of West Ancient Tomb No. 1 and 2 in Neungsan-ri, Buyeo-gun have been inspected for possible trace of murals. Tomb No.1 has a rough surface finish of the stone wall and no traces of murals was observed in any part of the stone walls except the ceiling part of the main chamber. On the ceiling surface, there is black colored area, which showed same visual characteristics for both the surface and interior upon slight scratch of the surface, suggesting that it may not be a painted layer. In addition, this black material is not artificial stuff like black ink but is confirmed as biotite from X-ray diffraction analysis that is one of the constituents of the stone wall. In case of tomb No. 2, white material, that is confirmed as lime(calcite, CaCO3) by X-ray diffraction analysis, was observed on the wall surface of the east, west and north, suggesting possible existence of murals. The lime layers, however, are located mostly on the entrance of east wall of main chamber and the place of passage whereas they are observed only in lower parts on the other walls. It may have been formed by the inflow of soil and lime from the outside as the form of the lime layer in the east wall corresponds to the traces of soil and lime deposited from the thief pit. Furthermore, the filling material found in the gap between the stone slabs of the four directions and the ceiling was confirmed as clay soil, which is different material from the lime present on the stone wall surface. If the lime layer had been artificially constructed for the purpose of creating murals, it would have been more reasonable to use lime as well in the gap between the stone slabs of the four directions and ceiling. In this regard, we conclude that there are no murals in the Tomb No. 2 in the Neungsan-ri.
