The thermal analysis of $Al(OH)_3-SiO_2-AIF_3$ system was done. The thermal behaviors of components and the effect of moisture on the formation of mullite were investigated via TG-DTA and XRD analysis. The mixture of $Al(OH)_3,\;SiO_2,\;AIF_3$showed two endothermic peaks with drastic weight loss and one exothermic peak. Fluorotopaz was formed at $800^{\circ}C$ and turned into mullite completely at $1100^{\circ}C$. But the mixture $Al_2O_3$ of or dehydrated $Al(OH)_3$ and $SiO_2$ could not form mullite even at $1200^{\circ}C$ in which the crystalline phases were $\alpha-Al_2O_3$ ana cristobalite. It was found that the synthesized mullite was aciculate shaped single crystalline whisker.

초소수성과 자기 세정 능력을 가지는 연잎의 나노미세구조를 분석관찰하고 그 메카니즘을 규명하였다. 전자현미경으로 표면의 마이크로 돌기와 나노 솜털을 관찰하고 아들이 초소수성과 어떻게 관계하는지를 조사 하였다. 연잎이 갖는 초소수성을 재현하기 위하여 프로필렌과 자일렌을 이용하여 단분자 코팅막을 만들고 그 특성을 관찰하였다. We investigated the nanostructure and microstructure of lotus leaves that has hydrophobic and self-cleaning ability. We observed the micro-protrusion and nano-lanugo on the surface of lotus leaves. We investigated the effect of microstructure of lotus leaves on the properties. We attempted to fabricate hydrophobic surface by coating with i-polypropylene, and xylene.
비기체연소합성법으로 제조한 Fe-Si계 재료의 열전특성

금속분말 Fe와 Si에 KNO$_{3}$(Fe+Si)무게비=0.2로 점화촉매 KNO$_{3}$를 혼합하고 50MPa로 성형한 후 점화시키는 비기체연소합성(SHS; Self propagating High temperature Synthesis)법으로 출발 분말을 얻었다. 점화분위기를 공기 및 Ar으로 한 경우 XRD결과에서 특별한 차이가 없었고 두 경우 모두 SiO$_{2}$피크가 검출되었다. 합성된 분말을 성형한 후 119$0^{\circ}C$환원분위기에서 소결하고 포석온도이하에서 열처리하여 반도성 FeSi$_{2}$가 주상인 Fe-Si계 열전재료를 제조하였다. Fe/Si무게비=46/54,44/56 및 42/58시편의 제벡계수는 Si함량이 증가할수록 증가하였다. 점화후의 세척처리를 2단계로 하는 경우 제벡계수의 부호가 변화하여 p-type에서 n-type으로 변화하며 소결밀도가 크게 상승하였다. 조성에 관계없이 공통적으로 발견되는 SiO$_{2}$는 점화시의 분위기보다는 점화촉매에 포함된 K성분이 소결 및 열처리시 산화제로 작용하여 형성되는 것이 확인되었다.

Silicon carbide ceramics are used for oxidation resistive coating films due to their excellent properties like high strength, good oxidation resistance, and good abrasion resistance, but they have poor formability and are prepared by vapor process which is complicated, costly, and sometimes hazardous. In this study, preparation of silicon carbide coating film by liquid process using polymer precursor was attempted. Coating film was prepared by dip coating on substrate followed by heat treatment in argon at $1200^{\circ}C$. By changing the dipping speed, the thickness was controlled. The effects of plasticizer, binder, or fiber addition on suppression of crack generation in the polymer and ceramic films were examined. It was found that fiber additives was effective for suppressing crack generation.

The $BaTiO_3$ powders were synthesized by GNP (Glycine-Nitrate process). The powders were prepared using carbonate and alkoxide as starting materials and nitric acid was used as a solvent for starting materials as well as an oxidant for combustion. the effects of aggregates in $BaTiO_3$ powders on green densities, sintering and dielectric characteristics were investigated. When the glycine/cation molar ratio was 1.2, reactivity of self-combustion was most intensive and the degree of aggregates after calcination was low. On sintering at $1400^{\circ}C$, maximum theoretical relative density(94.99%%0 was obtained in case of 1.2 molar ratio of glycine/cation. The dielectric constant of this sintered $BaTiO_3$ was 1919.

탄화규소는 그 표면에 형성되는 산화규소막 때문에 고온에 견디는 우수한 내열 내산화성 재료이다. 1800 ℃ 이상의 초고온에서는 산화규소막도 적극적 산화가 일어나며 일산화규소 형태로 증발하므로 보호할 수 있는 코팅막이 부가적으로 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 보호막으로 높은 융점을 가지는 산화이트륨 코팅막을 스프레이 코팅법을 이용하여 제조하였다. 스프레이 코팅과 소결 공정을 통하여 100 마이크론 두께의 견고한 코팅막을 제조할 수 있었으며, 가압 처리할 경우 매우 치밀한 코팅막을 제작할 수 있었다. Silicon carbide is an excellent heat resistant and high oxidation resistant material at high temperature due to silicon oxide film formed on its surface. However silicon oxide film is degraded by active oxidation and vaporized to silicon monoxide at high temperature over 1800℃. Thus, additional coating film is required for protecting silicon oxide film. In this study, yttrium oxide coating film having high melting point was prepared to overcome this problem. Films were prepared by spray coating method or brush method. The microstructure and chemical composition were examined before and after the test with scanning electron microscopy and electron probe microanalysis.
