Substantial evidence suggests that behavioral and reinforcing effects of cocaine can be mediated by the mesolimbic dopaminergic system. It has been shown that repeated injections of cocaine produce increase in locomotor activity, expression of the immediate-early gene, c-fos in the nucleus accumbens (NAc), which was one of the main dopaminergic terminal areas. Herbal-acupuncture as a therapeutic intervention has been widely used for the treatment of many functional disorders such as drug abuse. Coptidis Rhizoma (CR) and its main component, berberine (BER) were selected as herbal medicine of herbal-acupuncture. Both medicines have been known to have the therapeutic effect on the central nervous system. In order to investigate the effects of CR and BER herbalacupuncture at shenmen (HT7) point (CR/H and BER/H) on the cocaine-induced behavioral sensitization, the influence of CR/H and BER/H on repeated cocaine-induced locomotor activity, the change of c-Fos expression in the brain by immunohistochemistry were examined. Male SD rats were given CR/H (0.4mg/kg) and BER/H (0.1mg/kg) 30 min before daily injections of cocaine hydrochloride (15mg/kg. i.p.) 10 days. After 3 days withdrawal, rats received a challenge injection of cocaine (15mg/kg, i.p.). Systemic challenge with cocaine produced much larger increased locomotor activity, accumbal Fos-like immunoreactivity in the NAc. Pretreatment with CR/H and BER/H significantly inhibited cocaine-induced locomotor activity, the change of c-Fos expression in the rats. Our data demonstrated that the inhibitory effects of cocaine-induced behavioral sensitization by CR/H and BER/H were closely associated with the reduction of presynaptic dopamine release in the NAc. These results suggest that CR/H and BER/H can be effectively applied to cocaine addiction.
S, J, K 주파수영역에서 MgFe₂O₄ 단결정의 강자성공명 연구

We have manufactured FMR spectrometer over wide range(2-35 ㎓). In order to test FMR spectrometer, resonance absorption has been measured of the standard sample DPPH. The Q vaules of absorption line are 189-1096. As a result, We noticed that FMR spectrometer has been manufactured well. FMR studies of MgFe₂O₄ single crystal have been performed at S, J, K-band. The resonance lines have been observed for the each orientation of (100) plane at 300 K. The values of the magnetic anisotropy constant K₁ and the spectroscopic splitting g valule have been calculated from the ferromagnetic resonance curve, -2.9×10⁴erg/㎤, 2.02 at 23.89 ㎓, -2.2×10⁴erg/㎤, 1.89 at 5.3 ㎓ and -2.8×10⁴erg/㎤, 2.01 at 3.6 ㎓.

MgAl₂O₄ 막은 MgO 보호막 보다 단단하며 수분 흡착 오염문제에 상당히 강한 특성을 가진다. 본 연구에서 AC-PDP의 유전체보호막으로 사용되는 MgO 보호막의 특성을 개선하기 위해 MgAl₂O₄/MgO 이중층 보호막을 제작하여 특성을 조사하였다. 전자빔 증착기를 사용하여 Cu 기판에 MgO와 MgAl₂O₄을 각각 1000 Å 두께로 증착, MgAl₂O₄/MgO을 200/800 Å 두께로 적층 증착 후, 이온빔에 의한 충전현상을 제거하기 위해 Al을 1000 Å 두께로 증착하였다. 집속 이온빔(focused ion beam ; FIB)장치를 이용하여 10 ㎸에서 14 ㎸까지 이온빔 에너지에 따라 MgO는 0.364 ~ 0.449 값의 스퍼터링 수율에서 MgAl₂O₄/MgO을 적층함으로 24 ~ 30 % 낮아진 0.244 ~ 0.357 값의 스퍼터링 수율이 측정되었으며, MgAl₂O₄는 가장 낮은 0.088 ~ 0.109 값의 스퍼터링 수율이 측정되었다. g-집속이온빔(g-FIB)장치를 이용하여 Ne? 이온 에너지를 50 V에서 200 V까지 변화 시켜 MgAl₂O₄/MgO와 MgO는 0.09 ~ 0.12의 비슷한 이차전자방출 계수를 측정 하였다. AC-PDP셀의 72시간 열화실험 후 SEM 및 AFM으로 열화된 보호막의 표면을 관찰하여 기존의 단일 MgO 보호막과 MgAl₂O₄/MgO의 적층보호막의 열화특성을 살펴보았다. It is known that MgAl₂O₄ has higher resistance to moisture than MgO, in humid ambient MgO is chemically unstable. It reacts very easily with moisture in the air. In this study, the characteristic of MgAl₂O₄ and MgAl₂O₄/MgO layers as dielectric protection layers for AC-PDP (Plasma Display Panel) have been investigated and analysed in comparison for conventional MgO layers. MgO and MgAl₂O₄ films both with a thickness of 1000 Å and MgAl₂O₄/MgO film with a thickness of 200/800 Å were grown on the Cu substrates using the electron beam evaporation. 1000 Å thick aluminium layers were deposited on the protective layes in order to avoid the charging effect of Ga? ion beam while the focused ion beam(FIB)is being used. We obtained sputtering yieds for the MgO, MgAl₂O₄ and MgAl₂O₄/MgO films using the FIB system. MgAl₂O₄/MgO protective layers have been found th show 24 ~ 30% lower sputtering yield values from 0.244 up to 0.357 than MgO layers with the values from 0.364 up to 0.449 for irradiated Ga? ion beam with energies ranged from 10 ㎸ to 14 ㎸. And MgAl₂O₄ layers have been found to show lowest sputtering yield values from 0.88 up to 0.109. Secondary electron emission coefficient(g) using the γ-FIB. MgAl₂O₄/MgO and MgO have been found to have similar g values from 0.09 up to 0.12 for indicated Ne+ ion with energies ranged from 50 V to 200 V. Observed images for the surfaces of MgO and MgAl₂O₄/MgO protective layers, after discharge degradation process for 72 hours by SEM and AFM. It is found that MgAl₂O₄/MgO protective layer has superior hardness and degradation resistance properties to MgO protective layer.
백서(白鼠)에서 족삼리(足三里) 침 자극이 니코틴 반복처치로 유도된 행동적 민감화 및 뇌(腦)의 측핵에서 c-Fos 발현에 미치는 영향

We have previously demonstrated that repeated injections of nicotine produced an increase in locomotor activity, dopamine (DA) release and c-Fos expression in the nucleus accumbens, one of the major projection areas of the central DA system. Acupuncture as a therapeutic intervention is widely used for the treatment of many functional disorders such as substance abuse and mental dysfunction. In order to investigate whether acupuncture has an influence on nicotine-induced reinforcing and behavioral effects, we examined the effect of acupuncture on nicotine-induced behavioral locomotor activity and c-Fos expression as an important marker of the postsynaptic neuronal activity in the nucleus accumbens utilizing the immunocytochemical detection of the Fos protein. The male Sprague-Dawly rats were given repeated daily nicotine injections (0.4 mg/kg s.c., twice daily for 7 days) followed by one challenging injection on the 4th day after the last daily injection. Systemic challenge with nicotine produced a much larger increase in locomotor activity and accumbal Fos-like immunoreactivity(FLI) in nicotine-pretreated rats. During withdrawal period(from 8th day to 11th day) acupuncture at zusanli(ST36), but not at control points(HT7, L3) significantly attenuated expected increase in nicotine-induced locomtor activity and accumbal FLI to subsequent nicotine challenge. These results demonstrated that reduction in locomotor activity by acupuncture may be mediated by reduction of postsynaptic neuronal activity in the nucleus accumbens. Our results suggest that acupuncture may have therapeutic effect on nicotine addiction.

생약 30종을 사용빈도순으로 선택하여 그 항산화활성을 동물실험으로 평가하였다. 이들 생약 extract를 투여한 다음에 ethanol을 투여하여 과산화지진을 유도하여 보면 인삼, 택사, 맥문동, 건강 및 승마의 extract를 투여한 동물에서 과산화지질함량이 현저하게 저하되어 있음을 볼 수 있었다.
